I have not seen this new version, only the 1955, 3 parts movie with beautiful Romy Schneider, great actress and well done movie. The elderly people might remember it.
And a platinum blond at that. Too silly for words. Almost no one is dressed correctly. At least Julian Fellowes generally gets that right in Downton Abbey.
Patently ridiculous. These so-called period dramas always ignore the massive number of courtiers there would have been around. Dozens would have had a hand in dressing her. An empty courtyard as her carriage departs? Unthinkable. And there would have been a heavy cavalry escort on both sides of the carriage. Anyone trying to approach the carriage would have been trampled, or worse.
Right? There would have been more courtiers and soldiers for a Baronets wedding . Did you watch the 1955s movies? They did it right, hundreds and hundreds of coutiers, functionnaires, serfs etc, in every scene. And without the aid of CGI too. If you don´t have the budget for large crowds then don´t do large scenes like this, focus on other parts of the story instead of making a coronation scene with like 70 people
It's historical fiction not a documentary. The glass carriage was historically accurate, although Sissi was noted to have wept while she was being carried in it to church.
@@thedreamer4761 Yeah, sure, an empress in the 1850's wore a see-through fitted sleeve dress with a crazy headdress and her friend had a bleached bob with a Dior-style shoulder in a multi-tonal brushed silk that wasn't available until the 1920's. Guess all the photographs and paintings were wrong.
I really love the Empress Sisi and this show was not good at all. Sad how fantastical they made this and ruined it with a bunch of false narratives. The actress is gorgeous but she looks nothing like her in face, body, or height. The hair was almost right. I’ve read about 5 books on her. This show wasn’t even close to accurate or interesting. Sold out for a bunch of views instead of quality. I believe this show was meant to appeal to the 18 to 23 year old crowd. Seemed very swayed. No talks about what she actually did, how she lived, her thoughts, or passions. Made her a victim. Sisi also rarely drank. She was super regimented. She liked herself some cigarettes and liked writing.
Why is the lady in 0:52 dressed in such grotesque and inaccurate way? I honestly don't understand why they went for a completely out of tone outfit for her... Seems like a character from a 1930's movie just dropped in the midle of this production.
It´s Elisabeth´s sister, and once spurned by Franz-Josef she apparently travelled forwards in time to get a platinum blonde bob. This show is the worst anyway, don´t bother thinking about it
@@Knolch exactly. everyone also knows the empress's chosen lingerie brand was la perla. she's notorious for eating her dinner wearing only la perla lingerie while wearing pearl necklaces. i hate seeing these not credited properly.
