Empty Daydream & Epilogue! First Reaction - Lovebites! 

I ❤️ Lovebites soooo much dammit 🤘😍🤘 Every song.... EVERY SONG.... is just pure gold to me. They are all so talented!

First you heard Miyako play Chopin, now Rachmaninoff. She's just an incredible musician. There is no mistaking Miyako's Dean guitar tone.

Every time I listen to Empty Daydream and Epilogue, every cell in my body is filled with beautiful vibrations, NICE. 💕

With Epilogue, I cannot hear Miyako without absolutely hearing Gary Moore, that tone and vibe is SO much like Gary.

miyako is the one with the high harmony vocals. another of her many talents. a truly gifted musician. love the channel

Every time I hear this opening piano piece it reminds me of Brahms!! I am sure there is a classical influence in this but man it sounds so beautiful and transports me away on the aether!!

Sigh, well, I failed again. First time I heard Epilogue I cried like a baby, I've tried listening to it when I'm happy, sad, angry, distracted, bored, half asleep, hungry, too full to move, interrupted by reactors and even in physical pain. I still start crying. And this time was no different.

They actually do it a lot, that they come together in the center, and play together. You just have listened mostly the ones they don't do that. You'll see later ;)

they also do the back up voices on Burden of Time as well as Miyako's playing keyboard and guitar at the same time during solo.

2 of my favorite songs that really show off the talent in this band. Love Miyako's "Gary Moore" playing as he was an influencer while she self taught herself to play guitar at 18. If you want to see them together and really appreciate the M & M show try Signs of Deliverance LIVE or We the United LIVE. Watch how they harmonize at insane speeds while picking and sweeping, perfect like a Vulcan mind meld !! Great reaction and glad you are feeling better.

I love them so much! The talent. Every song is so amazing, but like you said, to be at a show and have something like this come out of nowhere after fullforcinnit would be quite the thing. The chorus in Empty Daydream with the vocal harmonies is beautiful, as was that beginning. That guitar harmony in Epilogue is unreal. The tone like you said, but then Midori comes in a bit lower and it is perfect.

Thanks for all of your reactions to amazing Lovebites. Music is a very subjective matter. In my opinion, these two songs showcase Asami’s vocals, her R&B, soul, jazz background. It also showcases their musicianship and versatility. My next suggestions are “Scream for me”, “Don’t bite the dust”, “Shadowmaker”, “Raise some hell”, Above the Black Sea”, “Under the red sky”. All live.

As almost everything has already been said I will add, I have 2 bands, at the moment, that are on my bucket list, Lovebites and The Warning. I have to see those 2 bands. I hope they come to the UK soon.

On the album Epilogue ends with the guitars just fading out. Midori's solo at the end was an arrangement for live performances. I hate fade outs so I welcome this version.

Epilogue is my favorite E song. Love the acoustic then Miyako going to piano then Miyako makes her Dean cry oh so beautifully. I disagree with you on Asami's voice, I love it in this song, I feel she conveys a lot of emotion with it.

Great reaction again. They didn’t switch up the timing, it stays in 4 the entire time. The whole feel changed due to something quite simple. For the first part Haruna hits the snare drum on 2 and 4. In the section you mention she simply takes away the hit on 2 and only does 4. Such a simple but highly effective change. I really love the lyrics to Epilogue. The opening with acoustic guitars and then piano is great. That little bluesy run that Miyako does was unexpected but greatly appreciated. She’s amazing she switches from instrument to instrument so easily. There will probably be people who jump on me for this, but I really don’t like the ending. I know what they were going for but it’s just too abrupt, especially for a song that is so heartfelt. “Fullforceinit!” Times new word of the year lol!

Epilogue is a ballad song it’s not power metal or thrash so the vocals are perfect for the song. Asami wrote both the music and lyrics and the lyrics perfectly fit her R&B background as it’s an (E)-motional song so that is my one critique

Man she is not even singing in her 1st language, love to see you composing and singing in Japanese (dont think so!) Asami is incredible in the way she phonetically is able to sing in English (on all their tracks) she is phenomenal!

Awesome that you finally got around to these two awesome songs.....and I don't know about you, but for me it sure gets hard to rank that word, 'favorite,' the deeper one goes into the rabbit hole! I love it all, but that middle section on Empty Daydream really draws me in every time, and yes, Miyako's switching between instruments so flawlessly on Epilogue is just pure class! Think maybe that the ending of Epilogue could be a small homage to Jimmy Hendrix? Get well soon...cheers!

3 things, 1) Freddy Mercury is thee stage presence GOAT.. If he held court , ASAMI has a seat at the table.. 2) I think the key to their guitar harmonies is their bends. HOLEE MOTHER OF PICKLES.. that takes wayy more than practice. This band is special. Very few people get to experience future absolute monster legends. a part the small fraturnity. Beatles, Elvis, Sinatra, few others. WE- WOLFPACK are very fortunate to experience this from jump street ; in real time.. I would never think; in a generation or 2 , we get to say: "I WAS THERE MAN!!!""

First reaction of yours where I think you missed something vital, and with which I have to totally disagree. Having said that you weren’t keen on the softer, slower vocal section, you then sat through Asami pouring her whole being into the section that begins “just the way you are”. It’s nothing like the first section and positively oozes emotion. Asami has said that she sings every song as if it’s the last time she will ever sing, and if you watch every single song of every single live performance, she does exactly that. Nowhere is that more apparent than in Epilogue. If you notice she’s not on stage when the song ends. Granted, when she comes back for the second of the three encores (Epilogue being the first) she has shed her jacket and is as lively as ever, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she had to compose herself first. So, although you aren’t criticising her, or her singing, I get the impression that you switched off from her vocals after the first guitar solos. Weird ending? Simple…it fades out the whole Clockwork Immortality album with a reprise of a melody that is played acoustically on “Addicted” to open the album. Miyako at her fiendish best.

Now, the next duo could be: Burden of time and Eagle fly free (Helloween cover) in live studio. Thanks.

They are not singing all the same, call and response in Empty Daydream is done by Miho and Miyako, and harmonizing vocals with Asami is only done by Miyako, she has mezzo-soprano range!

I always love asamis beautiful, pure, powerful and yet vulnerable voice soaring above this glorious music, also and especially in "epilogue". now you got four big lovebites songs in a row. how about a reaction to the new songs "judgement day" and "the spirit lives on", to see how they even have improved?

Great to have you back, Cheezy! The ending to Epilogue in this performance is different than the studio version cuz that version just fades out at the end. I feel like these 2 songs showcase Asami's vocals well cuz she is in her comfort zone. Both of these songs are from my favorite album of theirs, Clockwork Immortality.

Something I've gleaned from "Empty Daydream", something I've never seen anybody else comment on, is the emotional picture the song presents, lyrics vs. music. The lyrics are somebody calmly and rationally ending a relationship, laying out her reasons in a clear, reasonable manner. But then the guitar solos are chaotic and angry - showing us what is really going on inside: severe emotional turmoil. I could easily see this as a song about trying to leave an emotionally abusive relationship.

The slowest songs in a double pack. I personally prefer "Epilogue" over "Empty Daydream", but that's probably a question of taste...

The ending of Epilogue is a bit of a segue into Don't Bite the Dust which immediately follows. There is a vid with both songs (don't have the link off the top of my head) and hearing both makes the ending less jarring.
