Such a gorgeous book - each shed is unique and inspiring, and I love all the tiny details Kotite features to help readers imagine how to create their own She Sheds ru-vid.comUgkxe9yi0sulKgsp0VJJCIrLWWkvVqcU7LFR . The feature on Dinah's Rustic Retreat is like something from a fairy tale. It's really inspiring to see how creative all these ordinary people are in making beautiful and useful spaces on a modest scale.
Seriously...JAW DROPPINGLY GORGEOUS!!! I spent a good portion of 2020 taking virtual garden tours and YOUR'S is top 5 and so memorable. The attention to detail, the plant selections, the organization, the pristine maintenance, the level of design & craftsmanship are all top level & helps to make this garden a stellar stand out! This is really master level work. Congrats!
Wow, thank you! I am so glad that you enjoyed the garden and shed tour. It makes it all more worthwhile when you can share it with others. There are many fine garden channels out there, so I appreciate your comments.
Gorgeous garden Rosannes, but the most wonderful of all is having an old fashioned husband that is so helpful around the garden. Those men are rare. My Dad was one of them. A terrific husband and father.
The path with that glorious moss is magical. The shed is lovely and I know I would put a comfy chair to read a good book. The bird songs are so uplifting. Thanks for sharing. 🌼🐝
Thank you. You have paid me quite a compliment! I am so happy that you enjoyed the video. I don't do many videos, but I do try to make each one special.
I just love your shed and your garden is amazingly beautiful. The stone structure around your garden is so well designed and it is a feast for the eye. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much! That is quite kind of you to say. We actually have added and changed the stonework over the years. My husband uses mortar sparingly, so stones can be moved and areas redesigned. For example, the winding path used to be just stepping stones. After issues with weeds, we changed it later on to be a solid, serpentine path. By only using the same type of stone, we can expand or change things easily. It still looks cohesive, even though it was done over many years. At any rate, thanks for your comments! I'll pass them on to my husband. All the best.
Dear Gergana, That is very kind of you to say! I have been inspired by so many other beautiful gardens. I'm glad you were inspired by ours. One of my favorite gardening quotes is by the late Gertrude Jekyll, "The love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies." I'm sure you'll grow a beautiful garden. All the best! Rosanne
Endearing.... Love the pavement, vegetations and cute shed. 20 years ago....that's really elegant. I want to do something like the terraces...! It probably solve the slopes problem I've been facing for decades, lol. Thank you
Thank you. We have been enjoying the shed and adding to the special touches over 20 years. As to the terraced beds, it's amazing how long it took us to figure that out too!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video of the garden and garden shed! We had so much fun having it built and furnishing it and buying all of our tool toys! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Sorry about the delay in my response.
Beautiful garden shed! I saw that little rodent run across above your vegetable garden....little rascal. I need to source out some of that Love In a Puff, it's gorgeous. Thanks for sharing Rosanne.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the little antics of one of our many resident Chipmunks! Here's a link to a blog I did on Love in a Puff. It explains the "Love" part of the name. rosannesgarden.com/2019/09/06/love-in-a-puff-a-delightful-vine-with-so-much-to-offer/
Very beautiful. Building, garden and plants look harmoniously working very well. They look simple, calm, charming altogether but obviously behind all are the effort of careful choices, creativity and love of gardening. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! The garden shed area is my favorite place to be in the garden. In fact, I would say that our front yard is close to neglected, because I spend so much time in the back 😏. I'm glad you appreciate the choices. Keep an eye out for my next video, in a week or so, on the gardens around the shed. 🌹
Wow, love love the shed. I would spend a lot of time in there. Such a peaceful looking area with the landscaping and this quaint shed, so beautifully made. Thank you for sharing
Thank you Connie. It seems we have similar taste ;-) I am so pleased that you have found and are enjoying my channel. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@RosannesGarden I enjoyed everything., your house, your garden and a shed -- the whole estate together look so idyllic., I see it as my dreamland., hope one day I have that kind of fortune. Enjoy my dear -- you are the lucky one!
Roseanne I stumbles across your page and I am blown away! You and your garden are breathtaking. One day I aspire to have a garden as lovely as this. Thanks for sharing.
Rosanne, I needed some inspiration and a pleasant diversion from winter this morning. I knew watching one of your videos would do it for me! You should know that your garden, and its enchanting features, inspired my very small, urban Denver garden. I had a sweet garden shed built last spring and installed a wide, stone path to its entrance. With the Holidays behind me, I am thinking about spring and my garden in full bloom. Thank you for sharing your lovely garden.
Greetings to Denver! I am absolutely delighted to hear that you have found my videos inspirational! It is/was one of my goals in sharing our garden and our thought processes. I certainly know what you mean about the mind turning to gardening, now that the holiday's are over. But, I do have news. My husband and I moved to a new house and a new garden a few months ago. As the saying goes, "one doors closes, another one opens". It was very difficult to leave our old home and garden (and shed!), but the timing and circumstances were right. We love our new house and the challenges it presents. Stay tuned, I hope to make videos of this garden's transformation, although it will be smaller and less ambitious overall. I also hope to make a video of my farewell stroll this last August. Yours in gardening, Rosanne 🌹🌻🌱🌲🐝
Yes, I loved the chandelier. When my Harry Lauder's succumbed to Eastern Filbert blight, I spray painted the whole thing deep purple and enjoyed it for a few years in my garden until it eventually succumbed again, this time to the elements in CT.
Oh my! I wish my garden shed looked like that ~ inside and out! it's stunning Rosanne :) and what a clever & talented hubby you've got too! :) Thank you so much for sharing :) I love your videos :)
Thank you very much! Small things can change the look and feel of a shed quite a bit. That's why I like garden stores and flea markets so much! I am so glad you enjoyed the video. My husband is a total partner in our gardening endeavors; I am very lucky. All the best.
I left a garden...or gardens I had made and kept foe 30 years when we moved to be near our grand kids. I love watching your videos. You have used many of the plants that I did,, as well as techniques like a round herb garden. I had various things hidden in the garden as you do. Since I am 70, our house has some established planting that got away from someone and we have a woods for a back yard, I haven't been doing much as far as gardening goes . My husband cleaned up and put in paths in the woods for our grands to run through and hide things. By watching your videos, and in spite of my husband, I may just start planting again with some of the other ideas you have. I do enjoy your videos. Thank you so very much.
Hi Janine. One of my favorite quotes is from a famous British Gardener, from around the turn of the last century, Gertrude Jekyll, "The love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies". So true. I'm glad that my videos have inspired you to try some planting again. It doesn't have to be a lot. Besides, gardening is such great exercise, for the mind and the body. All the best in your endeavors! Rosanne
Thank you. We did mull over the interior quite a bit. The tables are vintage Steel Case tables that my husband (of course) picked up at a flea market. They are perfect! So strong. We often stand on them to get things up high.
Oh my goodness Roseanne your garden is just incredible and you have the loveliest shed I think I've ever seen 😁 the Irish moss looks beautiful in the stone. Love it all.
Thank you!! I love hearing that our garden and videos have a positive impact on people, if only for a few minutes. That is our intent, as we love gardening and sharing our garden with others.
Greetings to Germany! Thank you! I'm happy to say I was able to read your comment without going to Google Translate. Four years of German language forty years ago 😊. Glad you enjoyed the garden tour!
Thank you for an interesting and inspiring tour. I love the way you have added so much personality to your garden with little whimsical surprises tucked here and there! 👩🏼🌾
Thank you! I'm glad you used the word whimsical, because that is another element I value in gardens. It fits with enchanted in a way. I think gardens should be fun.
Wonderful! Amazing! Magical! Words can only try to describe yours and your hubby's creation. You two are so talented. No doubt your garden party guests feel honored to be invited to such a special, enchanted place.
Roseann, you and your husband are such a creative team- indeed you are both fortunate. Thank you both for sharing your garden skills and talent through these videos of your amazing garden!
What a dream garden and shed! Beauty and creativity everywhere. You and your husband know what you are doing, and share the same dream. Congrats for your enchanting garden! 👏🏻
Thank you very much! I am so fortunate that my husband is my total partner in gardening. We have fun planning prioritizing our projects. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely gorgeous! This is just what I needed. Had been watching a zone 7 Gardner. Rather discouraging until I saw yours. Would you please let us know the name of the evergreen by the shed on our left side . Beautiful tree. The moss is my answer to another challenge. What to grow around my stones! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Hi Glenda, I'm so glad you enjoyed the tour! We can do great things here in Zone 4 😊. The tree is a Trautman Juniper. I talk about it (briefly) in my Trees video. You might find it interesting. Same with the Irish Moss Video. All the best in gardening!
I love your garden and shed, Rosanne. Whimsical and very beautiful. You've given me some great ideas for informality, but without it looking crowded. A big thumbs up for your practical and inventive husband too.
This is so beautiful, harmonius and heartwarming. A garden to pamper the soul. You even captured the little mouse running along. Very inspiring, thank you.
Thanks Janice! I collected those hose guards over the years. Whenever I am at a garden center or garden gift shop, I look for hose guards with birds. Then, my husband kindly suggested I stop at six ;-) You might be able to find some on the internet?? Good luck.
I love the personality and character you give the animal figures in your garden. Behind your garden shed, a little mouse can be seen running across the back fence on the ground! Perhaps he was going to consult The Mayor regarding something rather important. haha!
@ 8:58 Did anyone else happen to see the long tailed visitor scurry past lol? (Front edge top tier) Thank you for sharing your BEAUTIFUL and most enchanting garden.
Wow, I love your shed and how it compliments your home. Your garden is beautiful, stonework with Irish moss and your choice of plants. Just precious, I look forward to seeing your other videos. I just found you today. Julia.
Thank you so much Julia! Please do watch my other channel videos! I don't post new ones that often (one per month in the summer), so watching the oldies, but goodies might be the way to go! I try to make them timeless. 🌹
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the garden shed tour. It makes all the difference to me to be able to see all my tools - so much more convenient and enjoyable. Have fun!
Oh good! The plant originally came from my grandmother's garden - many, many years ago. I have it in growing in three other places in our garden. It always reminds me of her. ❤️
Paradise! Thank you for walking us through the design process. Every inch is so well conceived with a plethora of delightful details. When I was a child we used to be afraid of the “green man” in my basement. My best friend had a “blue man” in her basement, and we were equally afraid of him. Gee, I wish I had known he was nothing to be afraid of! 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌸
Thank you very much. This video made my day. It was very beautiful and useful for ideas how to handle gardening tools and that amazing art objects were very fitting in the space.😄❤️
Enchanted is the right word for it: Only thing is missing: the fairy godmother has to peek out of the door. Well done!!! A practical shed can be done in a unique style.
