Had a lot of good boss concepts that were executed poorly.

This game has potential but they must fix the problems like gameplay, sound desgin etc.

It makes sense that the game is compared to Cuphead, as that is what they were going for. Considering this game was made by 2 people, in a fraction of the amount of time it took to make Cuphead (Cuphead was in development for like 9 years), I think they did well. One thing though, is that fighting the bosses don't feel engaging. I think the issue is more on the sound effects used, like Cuphead had good sounds for firing their finger guns. Another thing they could have added were something like knockout animations after beating a boss, rather than just ending it immediately and moving on. Also, phases between the bosses in Cuphead wasn't transitioned using single frames, but I understand that would take a lot more time to implement, so I understand why they did so. Other then that, it's an alright game.

In the last phase of the cow boss, bro is litterally doing nothing other than : 1.Go near face 2.shoot 3.if enemy comes, roll. I’ve never played this game nor do I want to.

The animation and art for this is actually really good at a technical standpoint.

The artistic direction of this game is (considering the resources they got) actually pretty good, mechaniclly it suffered a LOT at the begining, wich is tragic since, by the time those mechanics got (kind of) fixed, the precious time window to get the bulk of the sales had passed, still props yo the devs 👏👏

All the budget went to the art and music 😭

The music sounds like someone tried to draw Grant Kirkhope's compositional style from memory. If you don't know Grant Kirkhope is best known for the music of Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, Viva Pinata, and recently the Mario and Rabbids games.

I love your small sidesteps to the music in cow's dance part. Pressing keys to the beat is something I would also do, hah

TL;DR: Its a okay game in my eyes. While i dont give out my opinion very often and im not a game developer nor have i played this game but i would say this is a pretty okay game considering that its made by two people. It has a bit of different mechanics (like the dodging mechanic in the flying & swimming levels), nice character designs and funny twists when it comes to the boss phases (a example being the princess getting kissed by the frog and turning into one). Maybe the sound effects (like shooting effects or sounds coming from the bosses) could be improved but honestly all i have to complain about. The cartoon artstyle is also pretty nice and i like the CGs that come during the bosses before you enter the next phase. The boss attacks are basic but i will turn a blind eye on that as it is hard to be original with boss attacks nowdays. I also like the tree phase during the final boss, it gives me "Tree of knowledge" vibes, same goes for the first phase where the final boss attacks you with different attacks the previous bosses used, that was very creative in my opinion. Yes, it is inspired by Cuphead. I wouldnt say that its a total ripoff, the game is trying to have its original story, its easier than the actual Cuphead and theres a possible continuation soon, so we have to be patient to see what that will bring us. Maybe during that time, the game has made some changes and improvements but once again, this was made by two people so this could possibly take a bit longer. I do think that 20$ is a bit too much but i theorize its because these people use a engine or art/animation program that requires a bit more money. Overall, i dont think others should judge too quickly because "Cartoon Artstyle + Shooter Game = Cuphead Ripoff". We have to wait and see what the future of this game will bring us.

And I mean all would ask for is sound affects but I mean this game could have been truly unique if you switched animation styles very world with new attacks every time

Man; the music in this game is really good. I would've liked to see how they could've done it better if they weren't as greedy & have spended more time on everything else, other than those run 'n gun leves.

I honestly think this could’ve been really good if they fixed the animation movements, transitions and added a consistent story (like why they are fighting, why are the bosses fighting them?), and more music

The animation is so nostalgic. Might have been better if they went with a flash cartoon artstyle to match.

I really love the concept and designs for some of the bosses! And while some animations are nice, the game just needs to be completely reworked in terms of the music looping, the sucky controls and battle mechanics, and more animated cutscenes like the boss transitions!

if they only took the concept and visual and made something different, less demanding to make… its such a shame

Microsoft Sam hates this game... honestly, it's a clone of Cuphead, but I thought it deserved a fair chance. That is, until I actually saw the reviews... now I know why Sammy Boy hated it. Man, this must be hard to control.

A switch from ground play to air play was fun idea

Honestly the game isn't too bad, just unfinished. Polish the animations, add sound effects for the attacks, and fix the background music, it be much more enjoyable.

It would've worked better if they added boss defeat animations instead of just "Oh wow you defeated them here have a cutscene instead of a big word to tell that you defeated them and them groaning in pain"

thing is cuphead has been in production since 2013 and released in 2017. I feel like if they had done the same thing and took their time it would’ve been better and had a plot

See, it’s so depressing how at first the kickstarter or whatever cooled cool and as time went on, people started to hope this means that the creators are really giving it their all. But when we get to the final product… the only thing good about it was the into cutscene, which still wasn’t the best. I just hope they learn from their mistakes and make a better cuphead ripoff or upgrade this game into something that is worth the same amount of money as cuphead.

This is a great game i dont think it should be called a rip off its original its fun and it its so bad then YOU make a game that better this is REALLY good for a game that made with 2 people i love it plus i dont think they were focused on making it perfect they were just trying to make it fun because were not trying to look for perfection were just looking for fun!
