Interesting experiment, thank you for making this video. I wouldn't rely on swr readings on the radio to assess antenna's match. Feed line has a big effect on it. I would connect an analyzer directly to so239 after you deployed the wired. Agree, manufactured Ham antennas for retail sales are too overpriced.

When using an end fed without a ground the coax becomes part of the antenna so in order to see the true SWR of the antenna it needs to be measured at the end of the coax.

Is my understanding that you "tune" the SWR by merely winding the chalkline wire in or out correct? Wow! Also, have you tried this antenna on your little uSDX+ QRP unit?

Yes, you adjust the SWR by winding the wire to the proper length
