Gave it a dislike because of that. Tiny project. Titebond three. Plenty of time to do it right.

Thanks for keeping the clamp fumbles in there - it feels good seeing that annoyances happen to everyone and that I’m not just a klutz who doesn’t know how to use clamps.

I’m so glad I stumbled across your channel. As a novice woodworker end grain cutting boards are by far favorite thing to make. Seeing the just come to life after it’s finished, an u put the finish on it is just rewarding. I love your glue up tips an safety tip. Please please please anyone that hasn’t taken the time to make a table saw sled, take the time an do it. Life saver!!! But I’ve had some NIGHTMARE glue ups. So thank you for the tips!!!!! 🍻 from St. Louis. God Bless

Hi Michael, Clamping these end grain boards together is never easy but well worth the effort. Thanks -Andrew

i like the no cut also. because it is truly how glue up is, clamp falling everywhere and glue getting on everything.

Thank you so much for all your thorough tutorials concerning cutting boards. I'm a beginning woodworker and am honing my skills. Have run into all the problems that, if I would have discovered your tutorials first, would have been avoidable. I appreciate you. Thanks again!

Interesting glue technique. I'll give that a try on my next glueup.

I really like that you don't edit out the realistic situations that occur while doing your glue ups. They make me laugh only because these same situations always happen to me. Thanks for the video. I've made 8 cutting boards so far and am working on four more. It's great that a novice 47 year old woodworker can learn different techniques and strategies from different more experienced woodworkers which save me time and frustration. Thanks.

Hi J., The simple fact is that it's a lot of surface area to glue and no matter how good you are you are going to fumble with the clamps. I mostly wanted to show how much the cauls help keep it flat. Glad you got a laugh out of it. I did too, Good luck with your boards! -Andrew

Enjoy your videos. Just want to mention one thing for folks that may not know. Titebond III is the best glue for cutting boards BUT....it dries pretty dark compared to to I or II so with "whiter" woods such as maple, you may see a dark joint in the finished project.

@moetop Год назад
Tightbond 3 dries darker. If your going to use any of that "filling ability" he is talking about make sure the color of the boards is going to match. I just did a board and there was very minimal gap filling I needed and only in one area, but I can still see some of the glue lines even in the areas I didn't need any filling. (This was on red oak). I am going back to Tightbond II because it dries a bit more clear.

Nice job. A little ( a few grains) of course salt helps stop the sliding between the boards too.

Studied so many cutting board videos. I definitely wouldn't say the glue up method you used is easier though! Get a roller :-D Thanks for info on the glue though. Couldn't find clear difference between TB2 and TB3. And great looking board

Hi - great video. Question: What are the pros and cons concerning grain orientation? Is it best that all of the grain goes the same direction or what? Could a "wrong" grain orientation cause the board in splitting?

What kind of glue do you use? Guessing it would need to be food safe.

Here is what i need to build, invent, or whatever. I have a new sound bar. Problem, my tv is at an angle in the room and there is not enough room on the top of the entertainment center. Solution. Out of wood. Build; up to 3in high, U shaped holder for my sound bar. This will lift it above the tv legs, and below the screen. African MOHAWKigany! (left overs from my cutting board).... joys of woodworking

I mean this with all due respect and not to be mean like the typical jerk commenters on RU-vid. I have watched about 100 end grain cutting board videos on RU-vid, but you make it look way more difficult, by far, then any other, AND you’re making the most basic one of any of the other videos, one species, and small. You’re cutting corners and trying to make it “too easy” of a project. I see quality of the joints suffering over time. You seem to be trying to make your videos too fast to keep them shorter, which we all can appreciate, to a certain extent, but this isn’t helping. For those watching, there are PLENTY of other videos out there that you will gain MUCH more knowledge and instruction from. Your process takes more time then others who teach you how to make one 10 times better with way less work. Slow down.😉
