I can think of nobody on RU-vid who has so generously shared his wealth of knowledge on the subject of sailing and the vessels to do so. The humor and insights will be sorely missed. I hope he makes an occasional guest appearance, if for no other reason than to remind us of what we are missing. Fair winds, sir. Thank you so much for the time you shared with us. I miss you already.

Thank you both for the many hours of nautical pleasures. The wrapping-up montage made it clear that clambering over old boats had become something of a contact sport. Whilst we will miss the Captain’s charm, wisdom and effervescent good humour - the knee pads, bandages et al showed the very real cost. So I hope all will will join me in wishing him the fairest of seas and following winds in what he has planned for next. Randy has certainly taken the tiller and is producing great content on another interesting tack. Even if I never heard the Cap’n opine on the Concordia I do hope he will make an appearance again without having to clamber up a ladder on the hard. BZ to you both for the community you created and the interest you generated in old classics.

CAPTAIN ! BECAUSE OF YOU and Ran-day, I finally bought a real boat! At 68 ! I have been a weekend sailor for years but NEVER felt like I knew enough to go big. But you have trained me. You have given me a priceless gift of confidence. I bought a 1984 Catalina 36 and am out on the water learning to singlehand her! Pretty sure you are the reason. Thank you CAPTAIN !!!

Randy, I know you were the hard worker to make this happen, but the Capt. really made this a stunningly good channel…you have big boat shoes to fill. I really love the old pics of the Capt in his handsome young man days. All of us getting older types would rather be remembered for our younger years. I will remain loyal to the channel, love your working through your yacht, and am looking forward to your guests as I’ve enjoyed all of them so far. All the best to the Capt. , and welcome Capt R!!!

I have to comment on the endearing relationship between Randay and Q. This series has been about something more than just the boats, or just the knowledge gained from the captain's lifelong experience of adventures and pleasures under sail. I have admired the interaction between the two, the humor, the respect, the shared curiosity and imagination for how each boat can carry us to our different destinations. And it continues, from the long ago back story, patient mentor and enthusiastic apprentice driving to windward aboard the mythical Perfect Boat, now emerging into a passing of the torch. It is odd how these episodes of looking at old boats are tinged with little lessons about the the bonds of deep friendship across generations, and the joy of living.

RU-vid will not be the same without the Capt. Q personality. You cannot imagine how much I have learned from you all and the two-fer will live always in my mind thanks to your work. I used to tell people looking for boats that they need to watch all the Capt. Q videos to learn what there is out there for options. I have been hearing the breathing become harder and harder and Capt Q doesn't seem himself in this video so I hope the ol' Captain is doing ok. I know these channels take a lot of work and at some point it's too much. Cheers to you Ran-Day and what you bring to the future of the channel. Your efforts felt like home to a lot of us sailors and this cannot be matched. Look forward to the next chapter. Cheers Mates!

Thank you very much, Captain Q! Owning my own yacht is still five years off but you have stoked a life ambition to own a yacht and go on adventures. Quite often i find myself asking what Captain Q would think of any given boat I come across. Thank you for your entertainment, knowledge and wit, its been a blast! All the best Captain Q, wishing you many happy sails and adventures in the Jag!

You guys are the BEST! I have so enjoyed learning about old boats (gems), and falling off the couch laughing at your comments. Love the dry sense of humor. My favorite by far was the discussion about a weed, wondering if it was poison ivy or pot, and Randay, saying “Smoke it, and find out.” Didn’t miss a beat. Much loved and will be terribly missed. Quality at it’s best. Gentlemen, thank you! Jan😎

Thanks to all involved for this series, I’ll miss it. Started watching almost 2 years ago from my sofa, and 3 months ago finally bought my own ‘classic’ 60’ ketch, and I write this comment with a coffee, on the mizzen deck. Fair winds Captain Q and all the best with the V2 ‘Randay’
