In 2012, when I was about 15, I saw this video. I had no idea as to what Evangelion was. This video piqued my interest and, 8 years later, it is still my favorite anime of all time.
This is scary af. Joker desperately trying to escape being assimilated into the hive mind was horrific. The fact he doesn't escape is even more fucked.
The ending makes me think about three things: 1) Seeing the ending from Bioware's perspective, it is a bittersweet ending. 2) The ending makes me think about how this song would be perfect for the ending. 3) I am surprised that someone actually uploaded this combination... and it fits perfectly.

Wait. This seems familiar. A popular series has an ending that many people don't like, causing an uproar that leads to the writers releasing a new ending. This ending turns out to make more sense, but be even more desolate and violent than the original. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU--
The other way to do it: don't import, blitz through the main story (making bad decisions the entire time), never do any side conversations or visit the citadel, ignore all resource gathering nodes and side missions, don't touch multiplayer.
Really,I liked the endings of both Mass effect and evangelion. But what mass effect did wrong was how shitty it explained the reapers. WUB WUB OUR INTENTIONS ARE INCOMPREHENSIBLE FOR LOW HUMAN WUB WUB. And then in Mass Effect 3 they are machines to kill you so you don't get killed by machines. They should have just cut the whole part with the child.
So how exactly did jumping into a beam do all of that? By that logic, jumping into the fire while my house is burning down should make the fire decide to stop burning my house down.
It's uncanny. Next time, I'm aiming for this ending. Who wants to bet that prior to making the ending of the game, a writer at Bioware watched NGE and though they should make the ending a shout-out to that?
EoE being Anno's revenge against the fans is really just an old myth. It is actually pretty close to the original ending, which was scrapped due to budget and production schedule problems. But otherwise, you are right. Comparing ME3's ending to EoTV is much more appropriate. It comes completely out of the left-field, the plot is drops death in its tracks, and it just sort of ends without really resolving anything.
Nope. EoE was planned from the beginning, though it might have been a bit darker when they got the freedom to release it as a film. And as for the new ending DLC, I'll only play if it's free. I'm satisfied enough with the ending, and if they make may pay for a better one? I'll watch it on this here website.

You mean the one where it misfires and kills everyone? You have to import a really, really terrible save and make some extremely poor decisions throughout the game to have an asset score that low.
I would have loved the endings if they had this kind of upbeat music. I would have fucking laughed my ass off and enjoyed every minute. It's too bad they were trying to be serious with it. It needed to be upbeat.
