Another SWEET MADD-VENTURE comes to a beautiful ending. Congrats!! Thanks Maddie... btw, 2 cents stuff... you wanted to know what WE wanted to see YOU do next... And we could give a TON of suggestions. (being a fellow Hoosier for a time, and cyclist... I'm gonna throw the suggestions of RAGBRAI & The HILLY HUNDRED) But it's really more inspiring to watch when you're inspired by the adventure YOU've chosen. SO, my REAL suggestion... YOU PICK, and We'll keep living vicariously through the next MADD-VENTURE, For Sure!
I just started watching your channel. I just binge watched all of the peace river vids! You are one brave chick! I'm a born and raised Floridian, and I'm not even brave enough to kayak and camp by myself! I tip my hat to you! Job well done! I subscribed, I am truly enjoying your vids!😊
Enjoyed sharing your adventure with you. You look like you'd be fun to travel with. Glad ;you made it to the rivers end safe and sound. I'll look forward to your next adventure. Ax
Congratulations Ranger! This is something to be damn proud of. 👏 Several days, by yourself in a strange new environment...you are one brave adventurer. You're unstoppable Maddie. 😀 ✌️
I'm a sea kayaker and happy to know I don't have to worry about gators LOL. All kidding aside, we grow by confronting our fears regardless what they are. You are an inspiration in all your adventures.
Love the musings on the crocs experiencing the uncanny valley effect 😆 Thanks for another neat series Maddy, been following you since your tour of the lower 49!
As a Floridian, several things that amazes me about out of state visitors, especially those camping, is first how "hot" it is in March and the fear of alligators! Then again, I guess how cold we feel, especially at night when it gets down to 60° at night in the summers in the other states. That said, I enjoyed your vlog as continue to watch anything you post on YT. Thanks for sharing your trip!
It’s interesting to me how different people’s views on gators are! Some people have called me stupid for being around them and some folks don’t understand the uneasiness, like you said!
I was crossing myself as you were climbing into the boat the last morning…. And yet I had watched ur recent videos in Indiana so I knew you were fine . 😂😂😂😂🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ Some of those beaches look like they are pretty used. Maybe they are connected to a local park via trail etc . The little one is just “the one you see” his mama may be resting under you: lol
WOW! That was a great, yet at times high anxiety trip! I don't mind seeing an occasional gator, but gator infested waters is another story! I know most don't want anything to do with humans. But those few that have become use to humans and have maybe learned to associate humans with food, can be dangerous or aggressive! No shame in having some anxiety in that situation!
Love your adventures. I think risks feel larger to me when I am unfamiliar with it. Logically the risk of injury is much higher out driving on a road than out kayaking on that river, but the one you know FEELS safer anyway… (or so many seems to think :) )
Awesome trip Maddie! If you ever want to do a similar adventure again we have the Bartram Canoe Trail here in South Alabama on the Mobile-Tensaw Delta which is a similar environment but much deeper water. You also would have the added advantage of camping on platforms suspended over the water so that animals cannot get to you. Check it out it sometime.
You are a true inspiration to me! I don't think I would get a minutes sleep waiting for those "gator noises" to happen. I had a a good time tagging along with you, however. Wondering- how much beer did you pack in that kayak? Were they all Florida micros? My favorite FL brewery is Cigar City. Anyway, good trip and kudos for being a brave woman on the water (and in the woods!).
Thanks for sharing your videos, they're always a treat. And of course I'm glad you completed the trip and got out of there. 😊 Maybe kayak Lake Superior, explore the caves sometime. You'd have to wear a wetsuit though--water is dangerously cold, even in the summer. ❤
I’ve been lucky to explore a lot of Florida- the keys, the Everglades, doordashing in some of the cities, visiting family in st. Pete. It’s a very diverse place!
Yep, South Florida is the only place in the world where alligators and crocodiles coexist. American crocs can get pretty big as well. Nice trip!! I like your food like the bagel and cream cheese. Rock on as I will.
Congratulations on completing this exciting adventure! I’m so proud of you! But, like most grandmas, I worried about your safety! Now go find a new adventure that doesn’t include alligators 🤣
You should be proud of yourself Maddie! You were out of your comfort zone for much of the time, but you pushed on and prevailed instead of bailing which most people would have done. You will look back on this and tell Smoke Master how much fun you had. It may not have felt that way at times, but when you accomplish a difficult task, you have a different outlook on it. Congratulations!
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces You are very welcome, Maddie. Even though you are not on the AT, you are still one of the stars on RU-vid. You are a must see video every week! Daniel.
Nice trip Maddie! Since I had been on the Peace River before, I really enjoyed the video, seeing things that I have seen before. Great story, great video as always. You're kill'in it girl! Looking forward to the next video. geek
I'm an avid kayaker, very new to backpacking. Stumbled upon your AT journey videos during my research. I really enjoyed them, and learned alot!! I was excited to see you were on a new adventure, especially kayaking so I've been following. Now I find out we are neighbors!! What are the odds😂 Hello from Henderson KY!!! There are tons of beautiful paddles not far from home, you don't have to travel far or worry about the gators🤣 Taking my first backpacking trip next month down in LBL😁 thanks for the education, inspiration and motivation!!!
Great trip, I’m glad you got to the end in harmed. Honestly I started watching you from the van build video, I’d love to see you back in the van for a night or two, unless you sold it.
It was so good to see you in your videos again! I love your sense of adventure! I think you should hike the Mountains to Sea Trail next!! I’ll be watching!
I think you could explore your home state of Indiana and show us what it has to offer. Day hikes, overnighters etc I bet even you’d be surprised what there is!
We have a week off this summer and after watching your videos, we are booking this trip!!! Thank you so much!!! Wish you could have found shark teeth on this trip!
I am always commenting so late. I'm glad you did not quit. In the beginning of your trip I thought you were going to. I would have. I am not a fan of murky water unless it is a creek with the natural springs like econfina, not sure if you been to the differnt springs yet, they are good to visit when it is really hot.
Congrats. Well done. I’m like you in that gator country would make me very nervous. To do next? Van travels with hikes would be my choice. Thanks and We’ll see You out there.
Congratulations with buddying up with the gators. Could consider coming back to Arkansas to hike maybe the Ouachita trail which actually starts in Oklahoma and ends about around Little Rock AR. I have did parts of it last year near the Hot Springs Village. Nothing overnight just been day hikes.
Congratulations! I love following your adventures! You should do another adventure/week trip in another state! So fun to see these places that are less traveled
Wow, I’m from CA and, nope. Good job! I too think about random things on trail and for that matter off trail. Sometimes I’ll make a list of what I learned that day, for instance, today I learned that smoked cinnamon does not necessarily work well in oatmeal. For me at least. 😊 I like your content. keep it up.
WOOT WOOT 🙌🙌 finish line!!! Congratulations, you did an awesome job and thank you so much for bringing us along with you 😊😊 can't wait for your next adventures - hope it's with Smoke 🤞 ❤
Beer , you are awesome . I so love following your adventures and hearing your beer-isms about your thoughts and the world around you . Whats the next Adventure ?
I had an insulated lunch box for beer and some food. It was actually pretty cool the first few days, even with no ice! Towards the end, it might not have been the best temperature, but I gave everything a good sniff test and never got sick from it!
I love love love your content and im so excited that you made it 👏🏽 I’ve been on a binging spree of watching all of your videos, and I truly am so thankful + grateful that the algorithm brought your channel to me. You’ve inspired me so much. Thank you 🙏🏽
Hi Maddie this was really interesting to watch thanks! Have you thought about stealth camping in places or spending the night in haunted or weird places?
It’s totally not cute but there are mosquito outfits - jacket and pants to protect your exposed skin. I got a set because I love outdoors but not the bugs! I love your videos. Stay safe and have fun.
so much different than hiking the AT ...I think I would be concerned about gators at night. Maybe someday you could hike laurel highlands trail in pa. i think it's like 70 miles or so anyway enjoyed the video and river.
I really enjoyed your kayaking adventure, Maddie! You have such a wonderful, positive outlook on life … such a joy to watch and thank you for taking us along🤍
Nice work, kiddo. Not my thing, but you pulled it off with gusto(and beer). By the way(don't know if it's true or not), I've heard that when a deer does that 'whoof' sound, it means that it knows you're there but it doesn't know what you are. Be well, stay safe. 🥾
Let's see you doing Devil's Path in the Catskill Mountains of New York. It's only 24 miles long but it's supposed to be the toughest trail in North America
I would have loved the company! Unfortunately, no one in my life has both the ability and desire to spend a week on a camping trip, so it’s either take the risk of going alone or miss out on doing what I love
