Tony Bastable must have made hundreds of information films about being careful on the road. Sadly now no longer with us, he was definitely a legend in that category. Having made his name as first presenter of Magpie in 1968 and heading the presentation team on Drive-In from 1973, Tony deserves a place in broadcasting history somewhere.
@@d716agq Secondary safety versus primary safety. You were safe during the accident because of the thickness of the bar but a major factor in the accident was the reduced visibility.
One of THE LUCKIEST BREAKS IN MY LIFE. Was told 6 days before my test by my instructor i had no chance of passing and he advised me to postpone but took my chance anyway. On the day of the test i did the same three point turn and reverse in the test as i had in the hours practice i had directly before the test and passed. VERY VERY lucky
That's the old Bedford driving test centre on Goldington Road. Took my test there back in April 1989. Maybe a few years after this was filmed. Passed first time.
