I can't explain how good this movie was

This scene of them rolling into service with Chuck D delivering his message was always a very powerful image for me. Sets the tone for the film.

The most realistic cop film ever made, up to this point. It was filmed on location in South Central Los Angeles. That's the real L.A.

As a fan of the blue line and LAPD, from Russia, I want to say that the film is really good, no matter what anyone says, but the film really makes you think about many things after watching this masterpiece. Perhaps the Russian translation is not accurate, but I like the film anyway) ☺
