This is still Channel 4's music for the 2018 Winter Paralympics. It's a great track, and says a lot about PE that they didn't just given permission to use the music in 2012, but promoted the athletes through a new version of the video.
@@Itsembish. The Last Leg version is quite different if you listen side by side. They changed the riff and has a different groove, more swing. I heard Last Leg version first, then just today decided to find out where it came from and never would have guessed public enemy!
Funny how things like that work. The song is twice as powerful with the video. The video is twice as powerful with Public Enemy. I get goosebumps every single time I watch it.
I bet that when Chuck D and Flavor Flav came up with the idea of this song way back when they could not have dreamed it would be used to such powerful and uplifting effect a whole ocean away. This is utterly awesome and everyone involved with it should have got every award going for advertising this year.
being the younger brother of someone with a disability, this song means so much to me, the way it brought people together to support the GB paralympic team means the world to me and despite the lyrical content of the track, that is the message most people got from this track when hearing it on the adverts
Such an uplifting and empowering tune! Thank you PE. When it was originally released it lifted me at a very difficult time, and then when it was used for the 2012 London Paralympics it was even more powerful! Such a wonderful legacy to leave for people to continue to love and enjoy X
For those that are unaware this song was used in the Channel 4 London 2012 Paralympics commercial. I think it was subsequently used as a sort of theme for Channel 4's coverage of the London Paralympics. 'The Last Leg' started as a tie in show for the 2012 Paralympics hence it also used an edited version of this song as its theme. If you haven't seen that commercial I would recommend searching for it as it's even more amazing than this music video and it is immensely inspiring. Somehow Channel 4 have done it even better this year. Google Channel 4 Rio 2016 Paralympics Commercial and be prepared for an amazing experience. I'm not trying to be patronising or anything, I'm just putting this here in case anyone is unaware of the full story.

I think the whole thing is worthy of tears, it's a very inspirational video. He is an athlete and he is in pain, that's part of what's so amazing, the level to which these athletes push themselves; they are able to smash through any barrier that gets in their way. In case either of you were unaware all of these clips come from the Channel 4 London 2012 Paralympics commercial. If you haven't seen it I would recommend searching for it. It uses this song in a condensed cleanly edited video and it is astoundingly inspirational. Somehow this year were even able to top that commercial so I would highly recommend searching for Channel 4 Rio 2016 Paralympics Commercial, be prepared to be amazed.
This is one part of the Paralympics that showed they were more enjoyable, relevant and forward-thinking than the Olympics. Great song, great video edit and shows Channel 4 are still ahead of the game.
We had this theme again for Paralympics 2020 - in 2021. I loved watching the games and I felt inspired by watching so many brave and talented people pushing themselves to the limit and being ambassadors for 15% of the world's population! Well done to every one of them, to Public Enemy and everyone involved for their special Paralympic version of their great song! Also thank you to Channel 4 for immersing us in the world of the Paralympics, and to Adam Hills and The Last Leg for continually keeping the focus on this important issue! Love you all!
I think Harder Than You Think has become as synonymous for UK Paralympic coverage as Booker T and the MGs doing Soul Limbo is synonymous with Test Match Special (more than 40 years now).
I heard this song again when they showed a promo of what the channel four coverage was like of the paralympics at a disability conference in 2013. The Last Leg was featured and when this song came up the whole audience went mad and cheered when they heard this song!
watching tv and this track come on!, omg its Chuck D!, made me get up!!!, took me right back, smiling ear to ear and here I am, just give me a raleigh super burner, a walkman and send me back to the eighties!,when everything was good good for health, hhmmm harder than you think but wouldnt that be a beautiful thing!!!!, thats all im saying yeeeeaaaah booooiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!
The original video has gotten a few million views in the last few weeks. It just goes to show that when good music gets a chance on the mainstream media, it usually sells. 5 years ago the radio and tv wouldn't touch this song on account of it supposedly had no appeal. So much for that theory!
For all you sick in chairs... had there limbs stolen from them by illness and those who have been involved in car accidents or born unique. For all you remember, you're PERFECT the way you are.. You are the future of the Paralympics.. stronger, harder, fast and remember never give up!
Word life this is a real good look PE's track accompanied with the visuals of the UK Paralympics just beautiful..Infinite love and blessings to #PublicEnemy as well #Paralympians #RespectDue Peace!
Oldskool hip-hop at its best! P.E does it again! After all these years not being on the scene for a while? But there music is just too dope! Ahead of there time, and ahead of there game! Been on the scene for years!
My first time hearing the song & from Public Enemy, this was before my time, but I mess with it 🔥 I enjoyed the listen. Thanks to RU-vid recommendations 👏🏾
