My favorite photography memory from this year was when I tried a new lab for developing and scanning my films. Additionally, I was pleased that I finally got some films developed. I've had a problem with not getting my films developed for ages. This year, I managed to develop and scan only 10 film rolls.😢
Congrats on getting 10 rolls scanned, film scanning is a labor of love, hahahaha. I'm still have a few rolls I need to scan for some up coming videos. I used to be pretty infrequent when it came to getting my film developed. To counter act that, I would purposefully send my film in every three months to make sure I wasn't falling behind. It helped quite a bit and was easier to swallow with the price, hahaha
2023 was such a dope year with so many dope trips on the book. Favorite photography memory for me has got to be watching the sunset over Half Dome in Yosemite. One of those moments that was so pretty I almost forgot to pick up the camera. Good luck in 2024 man! Should be a good year.
You really had a killer 2023! Your videos documenting your move to the west coast, as well as your trips to Zion and Washington, were incredible! Envious of your Yosemite trip, and I'm super excited to see where you go in 2024. Just no more abandon buildings flops man, that gives me anxiety, hahaha
All the best for 2024 Casey! I really dig this video. Love the B-roll (and the quality of it!) and the end-of-year project. Glad to hear about your left ear. One of the things I really enjoyed this year was working with a pair of vintage Meyer-Optik-Görlitz lenses. These legacy lenses are so much fun to shoot! I'm more of a blogger than a vlogger so I'll probably blog about it soon ;-)
I just upgraded my B-roll camera from my Sony A7II to a Sony ZV-1F, something a little more pocketable. I'd be lying if it hasn't had me eyeing the Sony A7IV though. As well, I've never even heard of those lenses and I would love to read that blog once it's out! I'm super intrigued now, hahaha
Your channel has been a pleasure to watch- both entertaining and informative. Thank you. If I could have one request- more medium format images, please.
I got a video in the works shooting the Pentax 6x7 and I just went out to Astoria and recorded with the Rolleiflex so I got some medium format coming your way Paul! I've been itching to shoot my Mamiya RB67 as well.
Definitely excited for future projects, I'm still a camera hoarder but I try to use every one of them lol My favorite photography memories of this year are just the amount of friends and people I've made happy with my photos!
I've been there with the collecting and now I'm right there with you with trying to use them all. Been wanting to use both my Mamiya RB67 and Mamiya C2 for a while, so maybe they'll be the first cameras I use in 2024. Got to love this community!
@@northwestdepressed the community is definitely amazing but the questions I get from people outside of it get annoying sometimes lmao, like "why use film when digital is far superior" that's one I get all the time lol
Color plus is becoming my new fave color film too! Love the channel and hope for more exciting stuff in the new year! Most interesting photography thing this year was getting cheap old fixer uper cameras that i hope to have ready soon, and some new lenses to play with 😊. Great stuff! 🎉
This was a fun annual review. I like the format of what you included to tell the story of your year. The B-roll was on point as well (with the new Sony?) Interesting note about the surgery. Good to hear! (In multiple senses) I had a lot of fun getting more into medium format film this year, and look forward to doing a lot more in 2024.
I honestly laughed at that pun, good one brother. Also thank you, I decided to make this video as a pretty spur of the moment idea this last weekend and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Also yes this is the debut of the Sony ZV-1F on this channel. Hoping to make some more videos with this pocketable 4k cameras this year. Maybe this year me and you can shoot some medium format film together. 120 film has gone down in price, now I just need everything else to go down too, hahaha
@@northwestdepressed that’s amazing you threw this together in a weekend. It looks well planned. You must have the system down by now! And yes, would love to go shoot some 120. I’ve got Lomo and Gold for days, and photo missions can always use good company. I’ll only comp stomp a little.
@@StephenWhitakerImages I getting pretty good, I got like 5 projects in the works so I keep pushing myself and the consistency helps a lot. I feel like I would need more 120 film before I go out and shoot, but I know I have more than enough, as well, the comp stomping goes both ways my dude, hahahaha
Firstly, I'm happy you recovered some hearing back on your left. On the upside though, you can get a /T tattoo next to your left ear like the Nikon titanium edition cameras. All the best in 2024. Cheers
This is the funniest thing anyone has said about my ear and I’m mad that I didn’t think of that tattoo idea first! Happy New Years as well friend, here’s to 2024!
