I'm glad for this topic, for a change. I had expected it to be about either political drama or Christian Twitter drama. Eschatology is far more fun and interesting!

Well I hate to say it, but the post-view isn’t looking to great right now considering the world is going to hell and Israel is perfectly in line with the pre-millennial belief.

I would like to see a response to the idea that we are living after the 1000-year reign of christ and are now in the "little season" of Satan's deception of the nations spoken of in Revelation chapter 20. Wait just a minute. Do you mean no Russian invasion, no Red Heifer, no Mark of the Beast, no getting zip-lined out of here to an ethereal existence, no catastrophic Earth-destroying events, no mass death and destruction? I feel somehow cheated.

This is such an encouragement to me. I'm not sure exactly where I am in my eschatology journey (grew up amil, probably would call myself optimistic amil), but to hear the biblical truth that Christ is not just my personal Lord and King, but also reigns over all the affairs of men is news that never gets old. Jeff, I hope you get to see these ( this platform throttles me hard, to them - too Christian and too conservative) So, rather than try to go point by point on this video, I will focus on a few bigger ones I'm hearing you cover. Progress?! A big claim of postmillers. But, I see it as an Assumption that this progress is identified and isolated as referring to what He is specifically accomplishing on earth. I posit, that His Kingdom is in view. Thus, the progress might be delineated as... #1- God becomes man, He enters Time and His creation, The King arrives, but not yet with the Full Glory of the Kingdom and His Davidic Throne ( Luke 10:11 ). #2 - With the Kingdom brought down and introduced, the King Commands it to be Spread to All, Starting with the Jews first and then to the Whole Earth.( We are in this stage, till the last of the elect is brought in and the time of the Goiim is over.). #3 The progress continues... He will Return ( as the same Glorified Man that left, Acts 1:11 ) and march to ZION from the South ( Isaiah 63 ) Destroying His foes along the way. He then will gather All of His enemies in the valley of decision ( Joel 3 ) where " Everybody Gets It!! Including and especially the beast and false prophet, who make use of their Fast-Pass to hell. They get to go first. #4 - Still Progressing....The King Honors His Davidic Covenant ( to David, the Jew ) and sets up His Throne! Where? you say!?!? Yeah, In Jerusalem!! We , as one body rule with Him there.. Jew and Christian ( Zech.2 , Ezek.47 ) For the Millinium. Distinct, yet Equal!! During this 1000 yr Sabbatical time of rest, He is preparing His final Cleansing and refining of the earth of it's remaining rebels. #5 - The anticlimactic end of His Chief Rebel, satan and all who follow him. He then is cast into the pit . Progress! Then, it is Now time for the great white throne. Judgment and Sentencing time for All. NOW! Pastor Jeff, is there any way I can contact you? I watch your channel, your debates, your everything, and you seem so happy and confident in a reason to be happy (God). I need that happiness! I believe in God. I believe in Jesus. However, I am absolutely terrified of death! It affects my life every second. I’m tormented with thoughts like “if we die anyways and it’s unavoidable, why continue life now?” I believe in heaven, but am still scared. I have thought that torment me like “what if I’m wrong and I just cease to exist?” Or even though we’re promised eternal life, what exactly does that mean? Will the same ME that is here now BE in heaven? I need hope. I need prayer. Please, please pray for me! I’m not in a good place. My children and I have also been through a lot of trauma the last few years with my husband leaving to date my daughter and his step daughter. She claims nothing happened prior to her adult years, even so, this is still reprehensible and sick! There’s so much fear, pain, and loneliness in this world. I can’t stand the thought of having to endure DEATH, leaving my children, leaving my body, the terror, the fear, and being scared of what exactly happens afterward and if I will in some way not exist anymore. How can us, made in Gods image, being life, being unique individuals, who are so precious, just cease to exist one day. I can’t bear the thought of that for me and definitely not for my children. I believe heaven is real and we will not ever truly die. However when confronted with the thought of death I feel terror. This is taking all my peace from me and ability to function. Please pray that Jesus gives me peace, not like the world gives peace, but HIS peace. Please pray for me or reach out if you can. Eschatology has always been a topic I have steered away from in discussion or study. I've never heard a pastor preach on it with conviction and instead just a broad overview of all the different beliefs and so I left those sermons with the thought it doesn't really matter to land anywhere. I've struggled with depression throughout my life and although there has been magnificent freedom through the work of Christ and the Spirit in my life, I still feel troubled at times. Your opening here in this video has made me think that perhaps my lack of understanding, of not only what the Word teaches but also my own preconceptions and beliefs may be a significant factor in my thought life when it comes to hope, joy and contentment. Thank you for taking on this topic. Only a few minutes in but wanted to pause and say this and I wish a blessing on your ministry and pray for God to renew my heart and mind with His Truth moving forward. God bless.

One comment about the “now but not yet” phrase…I hold to that phrase, but not in the way it’s described here. Take for example the verse that he will wipe every tear from their eye and there will be no more death. That is accomplished by Christ already, but we will not experience that aspect of redemption yet. There is still death, it’s the last to be defeated as you rightly said

I'm interested in what post-mill or a-mill believers see as the role the anti-christ plays in eschatology. The Apostle John clearly states that he (the anti-christ) is coming into the world.

Jeff do you agree that Paul’s eschatology in Thessalonians is historical? I know many post mils don’t agree but if you don’t please reconsider it. It’s clear Paul was talking to an audience who were expecting a resurrection and I believe this resurrection is what John talks about in the book of revelation as the first resurrection. Now, we are waiting for the last resurrection which is the final judgement. The man of sin was certainly one of the emperors of Rome and that’s probably emperor Titus.

So does post mil teach that at some point every single human alive on earth will be regenerate and then the end will come? Explain it to me like I’m 12.

I’m in the camp of already BUT not yet!

I've been trying to do a deep dive on eschatology. I've been raised pre mill waiting for the blessed hope and still consider to be in that camp. I've heard some decent arguments for postmillennialism but I'm having a hard time finding good resources for my study. I'd really like to hear a sermon from apologia or the like, to explain what is done with all of the versus that speak about the rapture our (blessed hope)? What about the future of Israel and God's everlasting covenant with them or the events of revelation. Watching this video I'm pretty sure that pastor Jeff was basically implying postmillenialiats are preterists, are they also replacement theologists? This is not mean spirited or looking to get into a debate in RU-vid comments, but would really appreciate good resources if anyone knows of any. In love and Christ.

When the 1964 Good Friday earthquake hit Anchorage, AK, Christians who were around then, thought it was the Lord's return. I think after the establishment of the nation of Israel, that event really amped up our 'modern' end times movement. And then "Late Great Planet Earth" really fueled the fire. But for those who have been around long enough...we do see things we couldn't imagine 50-60 year ago. For instance, yes, people were homosexual, and even cross-dressing...but it wasn't in the schools and it wasn't in the public square. When I was in grade school in the 1970's, no one would imagine drag queen story hour! We said the pledge every morning, there was a high level of patriotism. Yes, war protestors burned the flag, but overall, it was a patriotic society. But look how far things have progressed to where we are today! I do believe it's something to pay attention to.

“Then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy to be abolished is death. For He has put all things in subjection under His feet. But when He says, “All things are put in subjection,” it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭24‬-‭27‬ ‭LSB‬‬ Don’t see how this isn’t read about the future when that’s what it’s speaking about.

Premils, especially ultra Calvinists can seriously lack passion in sharing the Gospel. They can also believe the world is going straight downhill but still be passionate about finding the remnant. Postmils can be passionate about Kingdom expansion but do damage to people running ahead of the Spirit, sharing the Gospel in the flesh. Also I notice a preoccupation with politics. They can think holding an political office is a special spiritual achievement. I wonder about this, cuz Jesus never ran for office, and seemed rather disinterested in human power - like a big dog who doesn't need to bark to be respected lol. We know all people groups will be represented in heaven, but how many from each is not specified. The evil deception of the enemy is increasing , but also the Church is expanding. In your situation in life, where is Christ moving? Join Him. Hint - usually among the forgotten, not the powerful.

If Premillennialism is true, then Christ is a false Prophet, because in Matthew 24:34 He says to those standing in front of Him “Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished.”. Moreover, Premillennialism calls for Jesus to disobey the Father. How so? Well, the Bible tells us that the Father tells the Son to sit at His right hand until He makes all His enemies a footstool for His feet. And so Premillennialism calls for Jesus to return prior to that being accomplished, therefore, Premillennialism calls for Jesus to be disobedient to the Father, which means Premillennialism is an unbiblical teaching. Can we agree that any doctrine that calls for the Son to disobey the Father would be a doctrine worth throwing into Gehenna? Yes. Ought we vehemently rebuke those who would call for the Son to disobey the Father just as Jesus rebuked Peter for getting in between Jesus and the cross (getting in the way of God the Son obeying what God the Father commanded)? Yes. (Philippians 2:5-8; Matthew 16:21-23; Mark 8:31-33). Does the Son obey all that the Father commands? Yes. (Matthew 26:39; Mark 14:36; Luke 22:42; John 5:19; John 6:38; John 8:27-29; Hebrews 5:8-9; (John 8:44-47; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 7:26-28; Hebrews 9:11-14; Hebrews 10:1-18; 1 Peter 2:21-24); John 12:49-50; John 14:31; John 15:10; Philippians 2:5-8). Did the Father tell the Son to sit at His right hand until all His enemies are defeated, with the last enemy being death? Yes. Do Premillennialists and Amillennialists call for the Son to bodily arise from being seated at right hand of the Father in heaven in order to bodily return to earth prior to all His enemies being defeated? Yes. This means the doctrine of Premillennialism and Amillennialism calls for the Son to disobey the Fathers command of sitting at His right hand until all His enemies are defeated. Moreover, if the Son returns before Father makes all of the Sons enemies His footstool, then, that would make the Father a liar, because, the Father said He would make all of the Sons enemies His footstool before the Son returns. Any doctrine that calls for the Son to disobey the Father, and that would call the Father a liar, ought to be tossed in Gehenna where it belongs. Therefore, those who hold to Premillennialism and Amillennialism must be vehemently rebuked just as Jesus rebuked Peter (Philippians 2:5-8; Matthew 16:21-23; Mark 8:31-33). Therefore, be diligent to rightly divide the word of truth, and shun profane babblings of false eschatologies that will proceed to further ungodliness, which spreads like gangrene and overthrows the faith of some, and publicly name such men who teach false eschatologies (2 Timothy 2:14-19). The last three enemies to be defeated and made a footstool for Christ during His millennial reign while being seated at the right hand of the Father. In (Psalm 110:1-7; Matthew 22:41-46; Mark 12:35-37; Luke 20:41-44; Acts 2:29-36; Ephesians 1:15-23; Hebrews 1:1-14; Hebrews 10:10-13) we see that the expectation is that while the Son is sitting at the right hand of the Father His enemies will be made a footstool for His feet. In 1 Corinthians 15:24-28, 54-57 we get the first additional detail about the ordering in which the enemies are defeated. The detail is limited in that we only know that the last enemy to be defeated is death. And we are given no detail about the order in which all the other enemies are defeated prior to the last enemy death being defeated. But in Revelation 20:1-9 we get the second additional detail about the 3rd and 2nd last enemies to be defeated prior to the last enemy death being defeated. It’s in this passage that we find Satan being bound during the millennial reign of Christ. This binding is a great chain and pit that doesn’t defeat Satan at this point in time but it restricts him, it suppresses him. What about Satan is being restricted and suppressed? (1) DECEPTION which leads to (2) REBELLION. Notice how in Genesis before death enters in as the great enemy of man that we see two other enemies come in before death. Those two other enemies are Deception and Rebellion. Eve was DECEIVED by Satan, and Adam REBELLED against God, and then DEATH entered into all creation. What we find at the beginning at the fall of man (the first Adam) is an ordering of the enemies; 1st Deception, 2nd Rebellion, 3rd Death. But at the end of the millennial reign of the Son of God (the last Adam) is that the ordering of the enemies being defeated is opposite as found in Geneses during the fall; 3rd last Deception, 2nd last Rebellion, and Death takes 1st place of being the last enemy to be defeated. At the very end when Satan is released he will DECEIVE the nations into one last REBELLION against the people of God His Saints. And what we find in this passage is that in a space of 2 verses there is the last DECEIVING and REBELLION, and no mention of death by sword, famine, pestilence, natural calamity, etc, but the only ones receiving death are those who are DECEIVED and in REBELLION, and this happens by fire coming down from heaven. This means that as soon as the fire from heaven destroys the 3rd and 2nd last enemies, it then immediately follows that there is no more death after those two enemies are destroyed, for death itself is now defeated for there is no more purpose for the first death, and that history now enters into the judgement of the great white throne where books are opened and all men are judged. What must precede the final revolt, and therefore precede Christ’s return? Isaiah 65:15 God’s people were called Jews, but now His people have been given a new name-Christian. See, the true Jews are those who follow Christ, and they went from being called Jews to being called by a new name-Christian-Acts 11:26. Isaiah 65:17-23 This is talking about the new heavens and a new earth, and it describes this new heaven and new earth as still having; Death of young and old men - Isaiah 65:20 Birth of babies - Isaiah 65:20 & Isaiah 65:23 In Romans 8:18-23 we read that the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the revealing of the sons of God. That means that once all the sons of God are revealed that there is no more to be revealed, that is, there can be no more births that can add to this number once it has been revealed in the eternal state. Unbelievers and believers still living together on the same earth - Isaiah 65:20 People need to think BIBLICALLY about the words God uses and how He uses them. We are now in the new heaven and new earth. Jesus is reigning as King of kings and Lord of lords, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him. He is destroying all His enemies throughout Temporal Human History with the last enemy being death. Death needs to be in such a retreat that when a man dies at 100 years old he is considered as being a young man with his whole life still ahead of him. That is to say that old men die at the age of being hundreds of years old.

Now read the rest of Jesus' answer in Matthew 24, and Mark 13, and Luke.21, and you'll have the answer straight from the word of God. Not from some tattooed, overly tanned, face-lifted, false gospel preaching, Calvinist RU-vidr looking for his own glory.

I don't care what happens in the world, how bad or good it gets, I have said for decades that I think Jesus will return when the earth turns 6,000 years old, which I think is about 2033.

It’s funny because I can agree with most of the points you make, but still be baffled by your ultimate conclusion. We have FAR surpassed the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah and that is if half of the stuff coming out is true. Just because the people saying Jesus’ coming is eminent have been wrong over the years, doesn’t have any bearing on present circumstances. I’m not reading prophecy into the headlines but the sins of the Amorites are puny compared to what is happening. Too bad I can’t go into detail here. Wake up folks.

Jeff, if eschatology matters so much, why don't you ever debate it?

I feel like, with 1 Corinthians 15, the argument would just be that he is reigning sovereignly, from a distance so to speak, and that he is indeed reigning until his enemies are “suddenly” defeated (eschaton) and THEN the last enemy, death, will be ended. I try to see what hoops can be jumped through and this seems a plausible way to do that.

Fear mongerers and conspiracy theorists hate this one easy doctrine.

The coming in Matt. 24 before V.36 is the sign of the same coming of Daniel 7 Christ ascending and coming to the Father.

I know Jeff knows this, David's throne is not in heaven. Not one verse substantiates this. That's the problem with the Postmill and Amill positions. They have to spiritualize the text to fit their positions. David's throne has always been on the earth and Jesus will rule from Jerusalem upon His 2nd coming to earth for a literal 1,000 years. I agree with Jeff completely regarding the doctrine of soteriology. He uses the literal method of interpretation but switches to a spiritualizing of the text when referring to eschatology. This I will never understand. The church has not replaced Israel. If we are in the millennium now, as the Postmill position suggests, why aren't all the OT covenant promises to Israel being fulfilled now? If not now, when will these be fulfilled?

My summary is this how can He not to be ruling now with All this promises given to the generations after His rising sitting on the right side of the throne . You don’t rule if you don’t have a seat at a throne so why would He be sitting there . The woman ask Jesus could my sons sit next to you in your kingdom, sharing His love is one thing but proclaiming by having a seat at a throne is another. King on kings is in control and in power Now , that’s where our faith comes in our long suffering is that belief is to know He is in power and looking to at us how we do believe. It’s our gift to say yes to this faith because we don’t have from the beginning of Adam and Eve . They said yes to all God gave them but faith has been given because there was no need of it until the fall . Then it was given in the works of our salvation by the Holy Spirit to fight the good fight of faith. The suffering is our doubt sin is being taken from us each and every moment of our life but faith is built to point of how Jesus looks of approval. Faith pleases God for the sake of sharing His kingdom a gift to be one in Him . Jesus asked to believe no works but know who Jesus is Satan is the father of lies , lies has no gifts in it lies denies all of that’s in God and that’s the part of testing and the Holy Spirit , Jesus and God are one for you to be in one baptism one faith to be one church like God Himself. Trust is our power for the armor of salvation, it will develop our strength to wear that armor. We have so must to praise our Lord for because He’s doing all for us to believe and come back where Adam began and Us to finish.
