They know they're on a losing wicket as they duck and dive and try to wriggle out of providing a straight answer to a question. Both of the ladies didn't have an original thought of their own. They only repeat that which they are told to say through repetition and rote-learning.
The apostle Paul was not a Jew buddy…don’t confuse Israelis and Jews as one people…they are NOT!! Paul makes it very clear Jews are the enemy of the gospel and of God…they he warns us about them and that they prosecute Christians… Jesus warned us about them and their God who is their father… Jesus and other apostles also warn us about the synagogue and that it is of Satan.. read the Bible in context people it is in black-and-white words just stop making excuses for it. It's not a six day account of creation; discounting that doesn't open a door to evolutionary thought either. Beginning with Augustine (I believe) the Framework theory of six days and rest day introduce to the newly redeemed Israelites that their God, Yahweh, is also Elohim. Israel's redeemer God, who smoked the Egyptian gods (10 plagues), now in Genesis 1 illustrates that he is the only God. The new idea to the Israelites (and everyone else) was monotheism; so it's polemical and still allows creation ex nihilo. The creation account then dispels all the gods of cosmology stories and the cosmic roles of the Egyptian, Mesopotamian and Canaanite gods. The six days and rest is a framework based off the work week and rest day to be instituted in the Mosaic covenant - how shall the people live and to institute the Sabbath. The idea is that God's newly formed people will be the first since Adam and Eve to have God's presence among them. Quite a striking thing coming out of slavery- probably don't get the weekends off. Most people ignore historical and cultural context in these matters.
Jehovahs witness has the truth no matter what people say. They preach exactly what the theme of the Bible is GODS KINGDOM. No other church,pastor, knows what this means.Im convinced that JW is the truth and Jehovah is with them. 😊

I mean, you mention Edwards, but he would’ve put abortion - well known and commonly practiced in Puritan Old and New England which carried neither legal nor ecclesiastical punishment - as “inadvisable, but permissible up to a certain point”. Frankly, from what I can tell, the idea of “human at conception” is traditionally a Catholic notion which the very men you claim to emulate didn’t think was worth carrying over into their New Jerusalem.

Raised in a Christian home did public school homeschool and graduated from Christian school all I can say is God revealed himself to me years later in his timing. Salvation is of the Lord

As a devout and card carrying Baha’i, I appreciate how you approached this from a well researched and mostly respectful approach. I was sent to a Mormon boarding school. Forced and indoctrinated into their church and beliefs. I never felt truth there. Just lies. I grew up in a half Buddhist household. My father was a believer in Jesus but he never spoke on it. In the end I found the bible to be the true word of God after studying all diff religions. The bible is the only book that comes with 100% evidence if u seek it out and study. Thabks Jesus christ for saving me

Considering what Catholicism teaches amd what the Bible actually teaches you can. Catholicism is a Pagan religion. Thats its roots and heritage. Not founded by Jesus but one of Satans minions. The Word alone is all you need. If what you claim doesnt line up with scripture then its false. Jesus is that Word. The Bible is inspired by The Holy Ghost so going outside of that os actual sin.
“Support for the death penalty is *the* historic Christian position.” Tertullian, Lactantius, Athenagoras, and (potentially) Justin Martyr disagree. Once again, Apologia has some good points, but this knee-jerk oversimplification and presupposing of their own conclusions is counterproductive.
@@hopeinchrist3243 I think it was entirely valid in the Old Covenant, and has been fulfilled by excommunication in the New (cutting off from the source of Life in the Lord’s Supper as shown in 1Cor5:5, Matthew 18:17, 1 Timothy 1:20 etc), all with the goal of reconciliation and restoration. I believe the state still has the right to wield the sword (Romans 13:4) but Christians should never wish for - or push for - that to be the solution as Jeff seems to be teaching here. We should emulate God and “not desire the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live.” Hard for them to turn from their way if they’re dead. Bundy, Berkowitz, and Dahmer’s conversions in prison are great examples of that ideal in action. Now that the Spirit indwells the believer, we’re empowered to be like God in that way, and shouldn’t go back to the old Law, which, while perfect in its time, is a shadow of the New (Hebrews 8). Of course there’s room to disagree, and many Christians have throughout history. But for anyone to claim that their view on the death penalty is *the* historic Christian view is historically shortsighted at the least. (Sorry if any of this doesn’t make sense, I’m speed-commenting on break at work lol. I can clarify later if you want :) )
