Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC), in close collaboration with Traditional Owners, Department of Environment and Science (DES) and members of the Northern Bettong Recovery Team, is helping avert the extinction of the endangered Northern Bettong by establishing a secure population at Mount Zero-Taravale Wildlife Sanctuary (Gugu Badhun country) in north-east Queensland.

Thankyou everyone for your dedication and hard work to get to this stage where the northern bettong (critically endangered) can now be released into a feral free environment. Not as much as they should be that's why there's no betongs hoping around the lawn's gardens of Australia

Hi Mark, Good question. No one among us enjoys taking a life, however our mission is the effective conservation of Australia's native wildlife and habitat, and as such we must prioritise Australia's threatened natives over invasive feral predators.
