@@MistahBufo Thor won the boxing match. He won it EASY scoring two knockdowns, Eddies face looked like a slapped arse afterwards. It was hilarious, and massive disparity in skill, stamina, athletiscism and technique (the four main things of boxing). Eddie Hall fans : THOR ONLY WON COS OF TECHNIQUE!!!!! HE DIDNT KICK EDDIES ASS!!!! Unreal :D Oh and the Stoltmans already said that Eddie cheated with Bryce in 2017 in order to win. @@TheVanillatech can you do me a favor and re-google this entire thing? Colin bryce didnt resign, you're thinking of Mark Boyd, who was removed from the WSM organizations for pushing this very conspiracy theory. Luke went on to elaborate on the audio, saying the audio is from 2021, and is about giants live competitions, NOT wsm, because seedings for WSM are determined by the competitors placement in giants lives shows. Honestly, this is old news. Not sure why you're attempting to have a gotcha moment on this hill. Lol.

I love how brian did this show and think its so much better than worlds or rouge at this point. I remember brian saying in a video once, that the events should roughly be 1/3 people finish or get several reps, 1/3 get a rep or almost finish and 1/3 dont get a rep or dont finish to determine the weights.
@PortuguesePirate99
@PortuguesePirate99 11 месяцев назад
The intro conversation they are having, the both of them are spot on. WSM and Strongman is becoming too much about movement and fitness rather than just pure brute strength like it was in the Shaw Classic. Thats the shit that people really want to see, ofc you need the truck pulls, the medleys, keg toss etc but it should factor on the weight being heavy and not everyone being able to do it rather than time. Its amazing to see what Brian has done with the Shaw Classic and its only going to get better, just wish that stone-off in 21 against big Tommy went in Brian's favour for his 5th because he deserved it and we all knew it was inevitable for Tom to win another 3 or 4 easily anyway
@GODOFHELLFIRE3
@GODOFHELLFIRE3 11 месяцев назад
I feel the same way, as a lot of people do, but I completely understand why WSM went in that direction. Annoyingly, it's always going to be a TV show first and a sport second, and that means turning every event into a running-race so they can have plenty of 'close-call separated-by-a-split-second' photo-finishes. How many times have we heard Neil Pickup tell us how 'these guys are actually RUNNING with four-HUNDRED kilos' at every Giants Live show he's ever done? There's also the problem that making the events heavy poses a massively-increased risk of injury, as we saw in 2019, having multiple athletes out of competition for years on end to rehab hamstring tears isn't good for business. As much as the entertainment aspect of strongman is 'good for the sport', it would be nice if we had a strongman-equivalent to an IPF meet. No drama, no theatrics, just a herd of absolute meat-machines taking it in turns to load a 300kg Atlas Stone in a silent white room.
@PortuguesePirate99
@PortuguesePirate99 11 месяцев назад
@GODOFHELLFIRE3 yep completely agree with everything you said, i do get it and shit i mean at this point the Shaw Classic could be exactly that one event a year and designed to be heavy as shit to give us what we want to see without much of the other "bullshit" that comes with it. Alot of the athletes have said that its the one event where they are being put first before everything else like it should be which is great as their input will be heavily taken into consideration
@Dillinja2017
@Dillinja2017 11 месяцев назад
Although i agree in principal if you look back through the history of WSM its always had a lot of movement events, i think its good we have different competitions with slightly different styles, i think its more interesting to have the range.

Every once in a while, someone comes along that changes the game, transcends the actual sport or event they are involved in. Brian is one of those people. I see, very shortly, the Shaw Classic dwarfing WSM as the TRUE Strongman event that EVERY SM athlete wants a shot at and to win and the biggest reason for that is Brian's goals for the SPORT of Strongman. It's always been about the athlete's and the fans over the stage where they perform. Thank you for your years of constantly improving not just yourself but the sport of Strongman and showing where the importance really lies ... with the athlete's and not the promotion.

One of the things I love about strongman is that it demonstrates real world functional strength (pull it, pick it up, carry it, etc.). As Eddie pointed out, you can either pick this up and move it from A to B, or you cannot. The other thing I love about it is this: men should be strong. Obviously, you gents are extreme examples of strength. Even so, every man should strive to be strong physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. You two, and men like you, set great examples for other men. The rest of us look at you gents and realize that we need to get off our butts and work to be strong.

My main thing with watching human vs human contests is how relatable it is to me, as a fellow human. Throwing a keg over a bar, impressive and I can't do it, but can I go do that in my yard right now? No. Can I deadlift and compare to you on tv and think wow these guys are freaks? Yes. Squat, same thing. Even if you're squatting a car, mass is mass, and if the car is x pounds, I can go into my basement and load my bar up and then know I can't do it. Or hit your gym and try, but same thing. It's like a running race that way, a marathon is a marathon, go run it and see and compare. Back to basics, people love seeing the big weights, I do for sure.

If I was running a strongman comp, I'd have events like 'carrying a wardrobe up a flight of stairs'. 'Overhead-pressing a medium-sized concrete-mixer'. 'Rolling a boulder up the side of a mountain like the labours of Sisyphus'. Would these events pose an absolutely insane risk of injury? Without a doubt. Would they be sick as hell to watch? Yes!

Brian and Eddie bring massive entertainment value. What I'd really like to see introduced into strongman is a governing body that chooses the events to see who is actually the strongest as Eddie said, deadlift, squat, press, plane pull with heavy weights for reps should be in the final every time. A governing body would also stop all these so called record attempts out of peoples home gyms and keep the sport totally honest. 👍

I'm a big fan of both styles of contest. The events that are heavy and done for time are great because the athletic ability to be so big but still fast is phenomenal, but the events that rely on just pure strength are fun to watch too. I was in Sanya in 2013 that truck pull was crazy to watch, especially after finding out the air brakes were on the whole time. I was fortunate enough to be invited to the after party on the hotel patio,Those mixed drinks Gregor was mixing in beer mugs killed me. Jim, Ross, and Gregor were three of the funniest guys I've ever met.

You're a real and caring beast of a man......Let me say Brian....If you ask me the key to life is figuring out how to GET and REMAIN HUMBLE. You seem like your a very caring and humble man. You possess a very loving and caring heart and because of all that you will always be successful.....Stay close to our Heavenly Father and keep being you.....Your doing a great job.

Coming from the 303 and Estes Park myself, I say we need to get these two on Rogan together. What a hilarious pair. 😂❤

Listening to Brian talk about the prize money, I'm pretty sure that's as much, if not more than, a win as getting the title. Prime example of why he'll be loved long after retirement and why he's the undisputed GOAT!

Now we want a bigger and better shaw classic. Then we want to see Brian having fun with stone over bar, armwrestling and more grip records/training. Brian please. You are massive in all these, please give us more!

Totally agree with sentiment on heavy weight being the focus of the events. When the weights are heavy, the greats like Brian rise to the top. It ain't World's Strongest Crossfitter.

I think Rogue has done a very good job with their changing and eye catching events too. Worlds is fun for sure but the Shaw Classic and Rogue have been very fun to see.
