as someone with like. genuine anxiety about loved ones dying and all that jazz, the bit about jacob's skeleton being a family heirloom and julia being a literal old battleaxe was 100% genuinely and weirdly helpful. i don't really know how to explain it, but just the frankness and the "and when i die one day later", it made me laugh. it was comforting. so thank you for that and for consistently giving me something to listen to while i work. it keeps me sane

I'm sure it's been mentioned already, but the best way to have your body feed a tree is actually human composting! My personal post death plans are getting some of me turned into a gem to be put into the hilt of a sword while the rest of me gets human composted, which may be a plan that Julia would also have interest in 😂

Talking about being buried with their cat, I work in a cemetery and one guy actually was buried with his cat, AND has a photo of him as a child and his kitten on his headstone. I took a photo because it was really cute. It says something along the lines of "best friends in life, best friends in death". Sometimes, you see some really neat stuff in the cemetery biz.

Good news! De-fleshing a body is a well-known and pretty straightforward process; museums use it to prepare bones for display. It involves flesh-eating beetles! I don't know if that's the process that, like, medical schools use to make those skeleton displays. I hope so; flesh-eating beetles are cool.

the spicy chai talk reminded me, my family has a term you could add to your chai scale: "WOW! Chai" This came about from my mother following a (traditional, and thus spicy) recipe to make chai at home, but then instead of using like half a teaspoon of the mixture as the instructions said, she made up drinks for the whole family with a whole tablespoon of the spicy mixture. We all took a sip and then said WOW!!!!! That's so SPICY!!!! So yeah WOW! is how we refer to the upper limit of spiciness now
