*WARNING* There's 2 moments where there's a psychodelic/chromatic aberration effect on screen, the first one 0:09:56 - 0:10:00 is too short to have its own chapter. There's also a burp horn that they try for a hot second. I'll also add these as a response to this comment. This probably wouldn't bother many people, since it's so cartoonish, but there's also a lot of people getting run over, with blood and sound effects. I'm personally sensitive to this kind of stuff, and found it hard going despite the rest of the game being so funny, so thought I'd mention it for anyone reading warnings. I feel like some people will roll their eyes at a me for being 'oversensitive' (not you Khaz, you're great) so I hesitated, but I thought if there's someone else like me out there I wanted to warn them. Thanks for creating such a welcoming, accessible space on this channel
@@shockofthenew I didn't find it triggering, but I'm not gonna lie: it doesn't really... vibe with the rest of the game which isn't really heavy on dark humour except the few missions where you're tasked with running people over and I can't say I _liked_ it. It's only kind of funny with how janky whatever game trigger decides to kill people is so they just explode for no reason, but after a while that just becomes something that makes me think "why is the game messed up there?"
I remember when the game came out and i was so tickled by how many shots there are of georgio just turning around and looking at the back seat. The devs said it's not the same shot reused either
it's the fact you can tell that all these "bad decisions" in terms of game design and filming were a hundred percent intentional and made for one single reason: It was funny.
@@Ruby-pw4pxIt's actually even better: each turn is a unique shot. The devs recorded a total of like five-and-a-half hours of just Georgio turning with slightly different emotions.
@@EverTheFractalThat sapphic feel when you feel your arm growing eight new elbows and realise your soulmate must be nearby. But, like, four arms away.
I actually recognize some of the voices in this game because the devs and a few of the VAs are old school Let's Players. Ronaldo is a guy called Psychedelic Eyeball, he's French Canadian and decided to put on an outlandish french accent on top of his already thick accent. He's known mostly for his series of Prince of Persia LPs, and these days makes his own music on his youtube channel of the same name. The Eau Du Kaubocks (burping horn) is a reference to one of the devs Kaubocks, him and partner in crime Panzerskank just recently put out a Morrowind LP that's very fun but heavily takes the piss out of the game. The GE-OP Siren is in reference to a guy named Geop, he's a geologist and did a very famous Dark Souls LP back when it was still kinda new, he's mostly known for making puns out of everything and being a chill dude. Jeffery the Skeleton is voiced by Medibot, they mostly enjoy playing Kirby games, but was also involved in an immensely infamous Sonic 2006 LP, in which they and a group of friends played the game non-stop over the course of an entire weekend with varying levels of sanity by the end. Love all these folks, and I'm always glad to see this fun little game they all came together in get some attention, it rules.
I enjoy that the comments on this are all about giving more props to Geop, and they're absolutely correct! More props for Geop! These days you can find Geop streaming on Twitch under the same name, he still plays videogames but has recently been dabbling in Vtubing and looking through through the wild and wacky world of real estate with his Cursed Zillow series.
I just started watching SSS's videos. Did they give a specific reason why they don't finish games because I was confused at all the playlists that looked incomplete.
There's been one or two games where the content didn't feel right for the stream and the audience we have. But for the most part Jacob just loses interest and something else catches his attention. -Khaztaroth
“Third time this week” as one of the background comments (when Julia was taking the mechanic to his shop) is straight out of Simpsons Hit and Run. I loved that game so much. This one looks fun in the same way!
at one point the narrator uses "they" (around 11:54) - haven't watched further than this though (but I already love it), so maybe this is the only time :)

As someone who has been trying to get my driver's license for months & has already failed twice & really got bummed out abt the 2nd time around this sure is a weird game to watch y'all play but here I am doing it all da same.
My hack for getting a license is get one in Colorado, I didn't have to do shit to get mine. But I guess if you wanna be a GOOD driver is different than just a legal driver. You're gonna feel so proud when you do pass, I believe in you bud!
The moment i started seeing the gameplay one of THOSE moments happened. The obe where you stare, buffering, until comprehension happens, and then you let out the most real laugh you've had in MONTHS.
The reason nobody knows the words to Roundabout is that they're utter nonsense. It's one of those. "I'll be the roundabout. The words will make you out and out. I'll.spend the day your way. Call it morning driving though the sound and in and out the valley, in and around the lake. Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there. 24 before my love and we'll see you. 10 true summers we'll be there and laughing too (so true). 24 before my love, you'll see, I'll be there with you."
I listened to the audiobook of This Is How You Lose the Time War bc of Jacob and it is 10/10 my fave book I've consumed this year alongside one other, thenk you Jacob 🙏
@@Hanakochan10 Well, it's in a different vein lol; The Secret History by Donna Tartt. I heard from bookTok that it was *the* dark academia book and I jumped right in, now I'm evangelical about it but all save one of my friends has/will read it haha. It's a lot dark and a lot fucked up and it keeps your anxiety running high but I loved it and recommend it to anyone who can stand possibly feeling some sorta way after like I did lol
As an Aussie, I can inform you all that the "Esky full of VB" line is absolutely hilarious. It slayed me 😂 Top notch Aussie representation in this game.
I've seen several let's plays of this game, but somehow it took me spotting her name in the opening credits to realise Georgio is played by Kate Welch from Acquisitions Inc.: The "C" Team. I'm slightly embarrassed.
I wonder if Kate Welch is aware of these let’s plays of roundabout. I feel like she probably either isn’t aware at all or gets alerted about it constantly.
This is one of my favorite streams of theirs omfg this game is so funny 😂 The chaotic controls and funky vibes and incredible fmv acting all combine for such an iconic game!
1:35:30 or so, this is a memorial to Ryan Davis of Giant Bomb who passed away in 2013. Fantastic fellow gone too soon. The Chyna don't care line is also in reference to him
This is a game I love so much I had to make a video about it! I think this is a criminally underrated game, and everyone should play it for the fmv cutscenes alone.
I read Yellow Wallpaper in uni (English major) it is an interesting piece and important one in terms of history. The history with the author and that particular piece is worth the quick dive. Really about the dismissal of female mental health and the author not being down for that.
I love that the mall sequence is an unapologetic rip from the mall chase sequence in Blues Brothers (1980). "You got us into this parking lot, pal, now you get us out" from the film compared to "C'mon, Georgio, let's get out of this parking lot." "Lots of space in this mall", "This place has got everything", "Disco dancing and haircuts" and other lines are verbatim from the film. Even the music kicks up into an energetic, horns-forward jam as you enter the mall, somehow being reminiscent of the Blues Brothers theme (used during action sequences in the film) despite sounding very different. For the uninitiated, the clip from the film: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IIdGxR-aU6o.html
