I feel Puss in Boots portrays a Panic attack, while Inside Out 2 portays an anxiety attack. Panic attacks are more instant, while anxiety attacks are more gradual. Both have very similar physiological symptoms though.

I really appreciate the last part of Riley grounding herself during a anxiety attack. Touching the seat, hearing the noises, seeing her friends, and smelling the reality setting in to calm herself. And lastly acknowledging her reality of being not ok. That's beautifully made... *edit:anxiety attack. Thanks for correcting.
@icarue993
@icarue993 2 месяца назад
"Grounding" is an important part of some CPT therapy processes to relieve anxiety. The problem with anxiety is that there is no feedback, so anxious thought leads to anxious thought (hence the tornado in the movie). Grounding yourself, touching things, hearing things IN THE PRESENT AND REALITY.

At the videos 2:39 mark, as an adult, that scene really hit me, Anxiety's frozen stare, the welling in Anxiety's eyes, Anxiety's glance towards a familiar face/voice that got through the attack, you're in a stage of an anxiety attack, and the look from people never seeing you before in such distress yet not knowing how to help you, helping you slowly pullout of it...I looked for this clip as it really hit me because I've had several anxiety attacks in my life..I apologize for tearing up as I write this..

I’m so glad animation is bringing more awareness to anxiety and panic attacks. First with Puss in Boots the Last Wish. Then with the Spider Within short and now with Inside Out 2. It’s really incredible how well all 3 studios managed to portray panic attacks but thru completely different circumstances. Puss thru his fear of his inevitable mortality and not being able to do anything about it. Miles thru trying to juggle his responsibilities as Spider-Man and being a student and son which very often impedes him from doing the latter two. And Riley thru dealing with a new school and trying to find her place there

I was about to cry when I saw this because of how really this felt, I have diagnosed anxiety, depression, and ADHD am that can cause a higher risk of panic/anxiety attacks. I don't mind to much on how Disney usually adds some certain agendas like Lgbtq and other stuff like that (nothing against them at all) But when it came to this movie I wa kinda nervous about it, I k ew that a topic like this shouldn't have anything pushed into it, they need to show and describe it without making it seem forced, to rushed, or drop the topic to soon, but they handled this perfectly and was really moved by how they described it When I was watching it I was watching it with my mother and father and I'm scared to cry infromt of them so I held it in, but when her anxiety/panic attack happened the was they showed how her mind races, keeps the other emotions out, an that you can basically only think on that one thing really hit me and I knew what it felt like and I have struggled SO much in my life that I really understood this Overall i love this movie and I'm excited to see it in Disney+ so I can watch it over and over again

Since Anxiety is the most evil character in Inside Out 2, she is the one who caused Riley's panic attack and taking over the other emotions. Anxiety is worse than Eric Cartman. But Inside Out 2 was still a great movie. Which right now my favourite movie and tv show is Inside Out and South Park. If there was a South Park reference to those four characters, Anxiety would be Cartman, Envy could be Stan, Embarrasment would be Kenny, and Ennui would be Kyle.

I suffer from anxiety (diagnosed) and the scene brought tears to my eyes... The feeling is exactly that... Not just from the "outside in" view of Raile, but also the "inside out" showing Anxiety frozen in time while still using all her energy to rapidly fix the numerous errors she perceives she made and is making. While at the beginning of the movie, when Anxiety made her first appearance, I thought in my mind "I hate you", at the end I couldn't help but feel a little compassion for that emotion (that in all honesty ruined my life on a numberless amount of occasions).
@icarue993
@icarue993 2 месяца назад
Anxiety is a very useful emotion, but its very hard to control/manage. I went from ignoring it, to supressing it (then having an anxiety attack) and finally manage it. Whenever you have something to do, feeling anxiety is not bad. She tells you what you need to get ready, things to prepare, alarms to set, etc etc. But when you have everything ready, she has to let go of the console. Focusing on what you have control over, DOING THAT, and then stop worrying. Worrying too much is bad, but so is worrying too little.

Panic attacks and anxiety attacks are different for everyone, some people have more severe and noticeable reactions, sometimes even crying. Others can be barely noticeable to the people around you. Most times that’s not the case, but what I’m trying to say is that other peoples experiences with panic or anxiety attacks can be different from your own. It also depends on the circumstances of why it happened in the first place. People deal with these events differently. In Riley’s case, she couldn’t control her breathing. And she was most likely warm considering the sweat we see (or just because of the game). I’m not a doctor or anything like that, so some of my information might be wrong, but that’s my take. Hope you have a good day/night! ❤️

I do have a feeling that if Joy didn’t calm Anxiety, it would’ve gotten to the symptoms you are talking about.
