@@Flightradar24DotCom That just proves I'm different...because I get more excited by choppers. They are the first I look for on FR24 specially if one is flying near my house. Unfortunately I've only been in one chopper, pilot up front-centre, no doors, 3 x small seats across rear, the other two pax said they were 'East Germans and spoke little/no English'. He was a large man, petrified of flying, insisted on the middle seat and only there because his girlfriend wouldn't go alone. So I had half of the left seat and had to push my left foot against the door frame to stop from falling out, thankfully the seat belt worked! I had to strap my camera bag to my right leg so it stayed onboard. Would love to go again with better seating arrangements.
I live in Nuuk. I took a weekend trip to the Qeqertarsuatsiaat area with my fiancee back in september. I caught a reindeer a few hundred yards from the camp. Love to live in Greenland.
Hi Gabriel. Interesting that the helicopter travels on the ground to the landing strip to take off. It just does not rise from station and takes off. Then at the end it lands using the strip and not just lands to station from above. The scenery is just incredible. Really enjoying this series. Greenland is such an amazing place.
Thanks! Yes I was intrigued by that too. I don't know so much about helicopter operations but it seems that when they take off or land at airfields with runways, they will line up for the runway as a fixed wing aircraft would.
@@Endumattis Hello. I was just making the observation. I did not know the flight rules for them, for take off and landing from a dedicated airport. Thanks for the clarification.
Fantastic pictures. And inspiring. Everything is so nice. But, if I may come up with a little constructive criticism, then the sound is "wrong" Voiceover and music are loud, while the I-sound (real sound) is very low. I think that's a shame, because I'll have to turn up and down the volume. Maybe it's because I'm Danish and want to hear what they say :-) But beyond that, I just want to say THANK YOU for your beautiful and inspiring videos from Greenland. THANKS!
You get additional translational lift from the forward motion. A vertical lift-off is very demanding on power and might not be possible if the aircraft is fully loaded with cargo.
