Endometrial Cancer | Risk Factors, Pathogenesis, Signs & Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment, Prevention
Endometrial Cancer (also known as Endometrial Carcinoma or Corpus Cancer) is a cancer of the endometrium, which is the inner lining of the uterus where embryo implantation occurs. There are two types of Endometrial Cancer, Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 is by far the most common type, and this type is due to excessive exposure to estrogen. Endometrial Cancer starts out as an abnormal but precancerous thickening of the endometrium, known as endometrial hyperplasia. There are various risk factors for getting endometrial cancer, including early menarche, late menopause and having polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). In this lesson, we discuss all of the risk factors, the different types of endometrial cancer, the signs and symptoms, how it’s diagnosed and how it’s treated.

I was diagnosed with stage 1A uterine cancer 1 month after being diagnosed with stage 1A ovarian cancer. Luckily, my ovarian cancer was all removed during a laparotomy. But for my uterine cancer, i am on HRT and biopsies every 3 months. I told my doctor I don’t want to remove my womb as I am 33 and want to have kids and the HRT was the best option 🙏🏼

I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer a few days ago. The post menopausal vaginal bleeding was my symptom. At first, I thought it was caused by a polyp, so I ignored it for a few months. I haven't had any type of pain. Thank GOD I finally realized I needed to tell my mother - who is an RN - and have it checked out. We caught it early.

Hello, my fiance was just diagnosed with stage 1 endometrial cancer. I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about your experience and recovery. She is 34 and is worried about being so young. I'm just trying to educate myself the best I can to help her through it. Also, did you get checked for Lynch Syndrome?
@PinkCandiez
@PinkCandiez Год назад
@@sparrowswift1837 Hi Sparrow swift, Sure I don't mind sharing my experience. I was also 34 when I was diagnosed with stage 1a Endometrial cancer. It was a mental shock and I couldn't process the news when the doctors told me , but luckily I caught it early like your fiance. My oncologist performed total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix). Due to surgical menopause I was put on hormone replacement therapy (HRT), which helps balance my estrogen hormones, alleviate menopausal symptoms, reduce the risk of heart attacks and osteoporosis. After my surgery my doctor ordered a genetic test called Microsatellite Instability Test (MSI), which test to see if I had any hereditary cancer genes found specially HNPCC or lynch syndrome, as you mentioned. It takes a mental and physical toll on your body, but time does heal the wounds.After surgery your body will hurt and daily movements; getting out of bed, sitting up , standing up will be a challenge so your fiance will need assistance. I felt better in about 1 month and took over the counter pain medicine after surgery. I didn't want to take medical grade pain killers. I was really lucky to have a supportive husband and your fiance is lucky to have you. It is really important to have a strong loving support system, from partners, friends, and/or family. Tips for recovering after surgery: 1. A heating pad - helps and soothe stomach pains and aches 2. A healthy diet for speedy recovery (bone broth, protein (fish, chicken, etc), yogurt or any fermented vegetables, and salads) 3. Extra pillows to elevate your legs to prevent blood clots. 4. Laugher and a positive attitude - You are beautiful and awesome! You'll beat cancer! I hope you find this helpful. You both got this! Best of luck!

@@clareyoung7380 Hi Clare, I hope you are doing well. Sure I can. I experienced unusual fatigue, irregular bleeding, and lower abdominal pain when I was 34. Initially, I thought it was due to starting a new birth control, but my energy levels weren't normal, so I consulted my gynecologist. Despite being told I was healthy, I persisted in expressing my concerns. Eventually, I was referred to a specialist who discovered that my uterine lining was unusually thick during a hysteroscopy and sonohysterogram. Following further evaluation, including surgery to remove polyps and a uterine lining biopsy, I received the diagnosis of stage 1a uterine cancer. It was surprising for my gynecologist, as I was her first cancer patient and being 34 was considered young. My experience taught me the importance of being proactive in our health, conducting thorough research, and advocating for ourselves with doctors. I hope my story can somehow assist you. Best of luck on your journey, and remember that you're young and strong, you can overcome any obstacle that comes your way! *Sending you best of luck and Hugs!*

I am post menopausal and had an unexpected period . I had a vaginal ultrasound that mentioned a double wall of 8 mm with fluid. I was iron deficient anemic and had iron infusions. I’m 52 and wonder what will happen when I get to my gynecologist re Referred by my hematologist.

A piece of tissue was found in my uterus. I was not bleeding as much. I also have 2 fibroids i did a biopsy and it was negative so why is my doctor insisted on having it removed? I have to do another sonogram this month. I am having frequent urination, minor abdominal pain, my belly got so big because of the Fibroids. What should I expect?

My mom is 37 year old and she'sbeen having heavy periods last month and we thought it'd be alright for the next time but when she got her periods this month she's been bleeding heavily so that we had to appoint a gynecologist She suggested a scan the report showed that she had 11.5mm of endometrial...can i please get to know what's the cause for this ? Also if there is any chances for uterus cancer if yes how can she get rid of it? I'm really worried for her

Ok I’m confused. This is the second time I’ve heard that endometrial thickness of 4mm is abnormal however in my ultrasound report mine says normal at 6mm. Is there different terminology or measurements that I may be confused with? You look it up and based on where you are in your cycle will determine the normal endometrial thickness. Any clarification or insights?

I’ve read that 4mm is normal! Mine was 4mm then went to 2mm and now back at 4mm so I had my biopsy today 3/4/2024. My doctor said she needed to do it to get to the bottom of what’s causing my bleeding 🩸my ultrasound was done on February 29th and she got me in at the hospital on today 3/4/2024 definitely 💯 a miracle that the availability was there that quick.

Hi, when I had my baby in January 2021, I bled for almost 7 months. In July 2022, my cycle came on 3 times in the mont and after my transvaginal ultrasound, I was told yesterday by my OB told me they found a polyp in my uterus and have to get it checked out. I'm scared but I need my peace of mind to ensure that everything is fine.

There is no test for endometrial cancer a Pap smear is for cervical cancer. It doesn’t detect endometrial cancer
@MC-do4dw
@MC-do4dw 2 года назад
The first line of tests is an abdominal ultrasound and a transvaginal ultrasound. If the results are suspicious (like a thick lining of the uterus and/or polyp mass is found). After that the patient is sent to have a biopsy, and that is the only sure way to know if there is cancer. I was just diagnosed last month and the only symptom I had is spotting that only happened once. In the 2 ultrasound, my endometrium was thicker than what it’s supposed to be and a small mass was found. The biopsy then confirmed it. I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy later this March 2022. Every woman must “listen” to her own body and advocate for her own health because sometimes the doctor do not really listen or just brush the symptoms we tell them. Bottom line is we know our bodies best, and don’t stop until you get the right diagnosis (the sooner the better). Hope this info helps!

@@MC-do4dw no better words spoken! I had endometriosis for 5 years. Heavy periods, only 2-3 weeks apart, severe cramping, nothing would touch the pain AT ALL. GOING TO MY DR WAS ALWAYS A BATTLE, HE would tell me " the pain was in my head!" One night I had an urge to visit the loo for a bowel movement. Once there, I released a lot of blood, not poo. I became dizzy and then my chest tightened and I nearly fell off the toilet in excruciating pain. I ended up going to hospital and was given 3 shots of demoal over a 40 min. period of time. They advised I see a gyno and gave me a referral. I set up an appointment and went. Within 5 minutes of speaking with her, she set me up for a laproscopy, her suspicion was endometriosis. Sure enough I had it. Only it was growing around my bowels, lungs, an everywhere in between! I was told that death was only weeks away due to bowels being strangulted. So I thought back to the male dr who said the pain was in my head, and concluded that my head must've been up my arse! Always push your dr for answers cause we do know our bodies better than them. BTW, I will NEVER trust another male dr. Regarding " female anatomy" EVER AGAIN. IF LEFT ALONE BY HIS DIAGNOSIS I WOULD BE DEAD right now. Not saying ALL male Dr's are bad, but...

A woman who died of it made a video saying it made hers spread. I'm nervous to have my d&c because of her warning. I've had 2 negative biopsies so I'm hoping it's just severe hyperplasia and won't spread. I don't want a hysterectomy because I want to have great orgasms for the rest of my life and the uterus is involved. Female medicine is in the stone ages. I also don't want my bladder to fall out. I tick nearly all the boxes for type 1. This video explained to me why my doctor is convinced I have cancer despite two ( super painful) biopsies being good. I hope I hust get progesterone even though it makes me gain weight.

You’re wrong about peri-menopausal women all having less bleeding. They have less CONSISTENT bleeding and often have HEAVIER AND EVEN HEMORRHAGIC BLEEDING at peri-menopause. Please teach responsibly.
