Great figure, can’t wait to get this in hand! Also, Captain Rex is actually confirmed to be at the Battle of Endor! The only thing that’s up in the air is whether or not he and Nik Sant are the same person. I’m team Rex all the way!
Great stuff! Shame about about the face plates, BUT I wonder if that opens up for some customizers to produce new face plates, which would require not having to make a full head! The only thing I'd want to check on, would requiring removing the vest, to see if there's a hole in the back to put the backpacks from the Hoth Rebel Trooper, since green versions of that backpack were also used on Endor.
Hello Luke thanks for sharing your thoughts on the new deluxe Endor Trooper figure. I was hoping the Hoth Trooper faces would be interchangeable with the Endor Trooper faces. I'll check for myself but at this time I'm going to get 2 Endor Troopers. If I can get them to fit decently I'll get a third. Well that's my plan right now.. With the pants being grey, I'm guessing we're gunna get a repaint in the Gaming Greats line. On Battlefront 2015s Death Star and Bespin maps the rebel standard skin was a recolour of the Endor rebel skin in blue and grey
@StraightOtohGunga That'd be cool and fairly easy as well, same body with slightly different arms and legs. They have full jacket sleeves with the kind of diamond pattern on the arms that hoth Leia does, same with the legs, but honestly, they'd be great for it. Just repaint and re-release with slightly different parts and different faces with each uniform colour. Army builders dream. Meaning it's never gunna happen 😂
Nice looking figure! It is a real shame about the knees... That's actually the first thing I noticed when they revealed this figure. Some green paint might be in order. Apart from that, it's a stellar figure. Thanks a bunch giving us an early look! 👍
Just commented they had one job. I revise this. Black guy face plate. White guy face plate. "Rex" face plate. Make sure they interchange with the Rebel Hoth Soldier. With that very simple and inexpensive premise, you have 5 distinctly different Endor Troopers. 5 different Hoth Troopers as well, before you even begin pissing about with goggles and scarves... Ten different figures for people to aspire to. Not too much bothers me any more about their bs decisions, but this was so screamingly obvious, it beggars belief no one on that team insisted on this happening.
Great review! Apart from the knees , I think the figure is perfect! The custom aspect is why I think I'll get 4 .... 😁 General Cracken and Orrimaarko could be made with this figurine....
At least two for me, one for each face. I just can't understand why there are backpockets on the backside of the thighs x-D the knee could look like a kneepad, but it's a little unfortunate they went with grey base, instead of green.
Thanks for the review and the walk through customizing options. I'll be getting up to four or five, depending on how inexpensively I can find them. At $28 MSRP that will take some work.
This figure looks so awesome! Great point about using the endor helmet and random headsculpts for almost unlimited options. I still would like to see another version of the black trooper with the different gear set and the radio pack looking backpack
Thanks to you idea of using other heads from either Marvel legends, G.I. Joe classified, or power rangers lightning collection to give different heads for the Endor Commandos and having some spare luke and leia endor helmets @Landspeeder Luke, I have some heads that will be used for the endor commandos once they get released in my stores soon.
I can't wait for these, I don't usually army build but I'm definitely getting two since they have the swappable faceplates. Too bad they weren't available for preorder, hopefully they aren't too hard to get when they drop on BBTS and EE. Great review Luke! Keep it up!
Great review, I'm only going to pick up one of the initial release, then maybe one or two more when the release in the main line. More importantly I ordered a set of those 3D-printed trees and they showed up yesterday. They are gorgeous (so much better than random limbs cut from backyard trees that never look to scale)! I'd love it if you'd design another set with a smaller diameter to mix in with them for variety.

I have the Original from 1983 my Mother bought me.. Still In their packet and also the Imperial Biker scout. Im thinking of buying the 40th anniversary commando and biker scout. As the plastic bubble packet from 40 years ago has faded a little.
Unfortunately, Nik Sant is NOT Rex. Dave Filoni has specifically said that he's not going to overwrite existing characters when asked about this. We do know, however, that Rex did fight on Endor (source: Rebels ending narration). Furthermore, Rex does get an Endor rebel outfit at the end of Rebels that resembles Nik Sant's, but with some colors swapped around and pieces of his Clone armor added. Maybe Hasbro can swap out a few parts, slap on some new paint, and add a proper older Rex head for an easy Endor Rex figure in the future.
I have a big question for you… in the moment when Rex gets an Endor rebel outfit… Do you consider that is an armor or just an Endor rebel suit/uniform?
Captain Rex was at the battle of Endor but so was Nik Sant!! Also how dare you ruin this figure for me by putting that amazing Fettclone head on straight away xD
If you think about it, it makes sense that the exposed knees could be a different color if the camo is painted over gray pants - it would rub off after years of kneeling in wooded combat zones.
Considering I paid, 101 Canadian dollars to get two of these guys, I think I am done. These are priced at 49.99 dollars here in Canada at GameStop. I was hoping the faces were interchangeable with the Hoth rebel soldiers. Bummer!
This figure is prime example #1 of why I don't like the Black Series team's commitment to their single joints. This figure should've had double jointed knees. This otherwise great figure has FUGYLY knees.
Actually not. Dave Filoni officially addressed this in an interview with IGN that Nik Sant was re-retconned as not being Rex. He has expressed that,in the end, he didn't feel right changing a character that existed before he worked for Lucasfilm.
@@robearnest7613 in the Star Wars show that was put on RU-vid exclusively called galaxy of adventures the old rebel soldier has rex’s gauntlets. So even if not canonical it’s a little detail they added
No Rex did NOT turn into an old white dude that looks nothing like Temuera Morrison NOR Jeremy Bullock.... Its a pretty dumb thing that continues to proliferate. Nick Sant was already a thing for Years. Dont care about Filloni's or anyone elses fanfiction who came along decades after ROTJ came out.
