Estinien really took the heavensward leitmotif and made it his personal theme song and nobody stopped him

Don't let this banger of a track distract you from the fact that when Y'shtola walks away from the twins' dad at 4:56 she runs into a desk (4:32 for the room's setup) and likely trips and falls over in a comical fashion because Endwalker never misses an opportunity to bully the poor girl.

I still can't believe how little this trailer spoils, in retrospect

Man... I wish I could delete my memory so that I can play the entire MSQ for the first time all over again.

When you realize that Soken battled cancer while writing this the line "Should we lose our way, tire of all this pain, we won't be afraid to forge ahead" hits different. Then the key change goes up almost as if mimicking his bravery to fight on despite the possibility it all could have ended right then

I swear we've been here before

the best part is that we see our characters name as the warrior of light at the end credits. It just feels like a movie thinking about how everything just blends together.

I'm sorry but the stormblood part of this is 10/10 and will always make me tear up.

Still blows my fucking mind that the lead singer from my favourite band did the OST for the ending of a 10 year story in my favourite game. Brings me to tears every time.

I've been loving this song for two years now, and I am just now reading the backup lyrics toward the end: "When the world comes crumbling down, know I'll be there. Though our fleeting moment has gone, you're not -- you're not alone. As you turn your eyes to the stars, oh, I'll be there. With my chorus guiding you, forge ahead." I read this as a reminder from Hydaelyn that she'll always be with us. But I think it also works as a reminder from our friends that we'll always be there for one another.

So funny that Asmongold and his chat originally reacted to this song as "Oh it's so emo, ew", when if you actually listen to it, it's like the most inspirational and empowering song in FFXIV.

This song helped me get through some rough shit, and for that I will be ever thankful.

Its been almost a year since the cinematic with this dropped, and I still get almost as hyped up whenever I see/hear it again.

The lyrics "Should we lose our way, tire of all this pain, we won't be afraid to forge ahead" mean so much to me right now. It really is encouraging me to keep going.

Damn...The Punk Rock/Emo vibes from Sam Carter (The Architects) and the positive message from the lyrics to keep pushing forward, even through all of the pain, to keep the faith, believe in hope, and forge ahead....it gets me every time.

Sometimes I lament the decline of movie OSTs, but then I think about all the amazing video game music that exists and is being produced, and it doesn't feel so bad.

You know what I propably love the most about this? The feelings people shared in this comment section and how different parts of the story have affected them. Some specifically name Heavensward, others Shadowbringer and also Stormblood is mentioned in a fair amount. I for one am someone who only joined this adventure recently. seeing how much this game, nay this journey, means to my fellow players is truly warming my heart.

Soken mentioned that the original purpose of this song was entirely for the Zenos fight. ❤️

Im so in awe at the graphics in this trailer. They've made the scions look so real. Especially Urianger and Thancred. Its heartwarming to me.

It breaks my heart every time i hear old sharylan vocals. Her voice and every part of Endwalker weighs SO heavy on my heart, I begin to believe again. It's that powerful

i havent yet played FF14 but how does one song make me feel so passionately about a game ive never played its uncanny

Best thing about this song? It is it's own but also Heavensward, Stormblood and Shadowbringers at the same time, just like it should be for a continuation. I simply love this!

The last battle with Zenos was one of the most epic moments in this game. it brings a tear to my eye whenever I reminisce about the first time I witnessed it.

With Masayoshi Soken confirmed to be composing the soundtrack for Final Fantasy XVI, I truly hope he will create another fantastic song like this one. I haven't played FF14 but this might be one of my favourite songs, honestly

Whenever the expansion trailers reach a crescendo there is always some very cool imagery to go with it. In Shadowbringers the dark knight destroys the sin eater and opens the sky with a mighty blow, here the light of the cosmos dance on the paladin's armour as he stands ready to defend the planet.

People keep saying how cool his transition from dark knight with hoodi to shining armor of paladin while me here.. seeing WoL from happy young boyish warrior becoming handsome, rough, serious and matured hero.

I started playing this game a little under half a year ago and I'm having fun, but I wish I'd played it sooner. I can hear the history of the game in this song and it must have been a blast for people playing for years to arrive at this point. I hope everyone has fun with the new patch!!

The best part is when Yshtola just bangs her staff down in front of the entire Sharlyan council, clearly establishing dominance. Then just walks out turning her back on them all. It's so symbolic

I didn't hear those words in grey at the end of the song until now! It's amazing to hear something new in this song that I've probably listened to almost a thousand times by now.

Sam Carter is such a talented artist. Having had the privilege to meet him after an architects show, I’m so happy to see he got such a massive gig from square enix.

I've been listening to this song over and over again since the teaser trailer, and I don't think it's ever getting old. It's just a part of me now. I carry it with me wherever I go.

I only just realized that the protagonist going from Dark Knight in Shadowbringers to Paladin here is a reference to Cecil from FF4 which is apt because you go to moon.

The trailer for Endwalker dropped when I was feeling pretty crappy about my life, and this song was just a beautiful balm on my soul, especially the last part when it's so uplifting.

Me being a FFXIV player and a metalcore / metalhead and hearing Sam Carter from Architects in a ffxiv theme. Its the best thing ever for me.

Seeing WoL on the moon as Paladin brings heavy FFIV vibes. Fan service at its best.

3:27 - 4:04 Never seen a better introduction to a new City and Hub in any mmo ever - Music is amazing!

I may be wrong, and have yet to start shadowbringers, but I think there is a part of this song for each expansion (including ARR), and in order of when they came out. Don't know if this is unique to footfalls or happens for all expansion themes, but I found it interesting. 0:05: A Realm Reborn (Very uncertain) 1:37: Heavensward (Pretty confident, especially the part in what I think is draconic. 2:26 Stormblood (Very confident) 3:02 Shadowbringers (seems like a defined switch point, haven't done SB) 4:34 Endwalker (another defined swap point). Edit: first part is also endwalker, fits tune of certain areas. SB and EW part I am both more certain on SB: mostly the "one brings shadow one brings light" part, as that is part of the shadowbringers main theme. EW: fits the tune of certain areas in EW.

Just finished this expansion, and it's fucking beautiful, a master piece.

I was so excited when I found out Sam Carter did vocals on this track. I knew I recognized the voice from somewhere, and it just makes Footfalls that much better to listen to.

Now with patch 6.4 out I gotta say Endwalker still and will always be the best. This song is such a banger. When you finish the game you realize how much more of a banger this song is. Like seriously, the Heavensward part where Estinien comes rushing in with Vrtra, the Stormblood part where the electric guitar version of Triumph plays, Shadowbringers plays and the back vocals that signify Venat- it's just amazing.

The countdown before the "Our song of Hope" verse drops is brilliant. Well done. 👍

5:05 This part right here is my favorite from all the themes in FF14 up till now 😁

Just finished MSQ last night. Seeing and listening to the trailer again, I see it in a different light. All the pain and despair that, we as the WoL, endured to the end left such an impact that I havent had in a game. FF14 is one of the few games where I legitimately cried from. It was such a good way to end the story. Now on to the next grand adventure.

Man this song makes me tear up every time

I was brought up by gnostic parents or rather on hermetic or alternative spiritual teachings/ideas and at a very young age exposed to principles such as existential nihilism and cosmic mysticism, while also being taught the baselines and ideas of most world religions, at least on the surface - among other things like books on our solar system or mapping moon craters and constellations with my telescope as a kid pretty much as soon as I could read myself, thematically internalized such concepts which made the whole expansion and all the layers its build upon, and especially Meteion, Hermes, Dynamis and the experiences in Ultima Thule and Elpis, very engaging and relatable on a personal level which still deeply moves me to this day as I watch this video and recall the impressions the whole project left on me, whole body chills - fear not friends, and stay strong, to the edges of infinity, the void and beyond where you will find that which gives form to the powers of entropy and the concept of order spiraling in eternal contest through the universe ultimatly challenging you to a test of your conviction, willpower, passion and most imporantly: your relfexes W E A K - Zenos 1v1 Ex to Savage to Ultimate, for us weary wanderers when? /sigh you know, I really like the game :)

I remember first watching this trailer, feeling sentimental and nostalgic at the beginning, then awestruck, then feeling my blood boil at who I thought was Asahi, then get goosebumps at the music and the eeriness of the Giger-esque tower, and the perfection of the imagery of the elevator soaring for the heavens while the scream for freedom plays in the background......this whole masterpiece just has layers of meaning, and is utterly emotional and inspiring at the same time. I could listen to this song and watch the trailer endlessly. This song is a tapestry of many elements woven to perfection. I love it so much. Thank you for the video. Kudos to all involved at SE and beyond.

Endwalker msq spoilers: In the quest after g’raha sacrifices himself, as your walking up that long windy path with alisaie If you talk to her at one of the glowy spots she says “All I can hear are my footfalls. My heartbeat. It's so much quieter now...” I always thought it was a nice reference to this song

3:27 - 4:04 damn dem some goosebumps. That voice is angelic and the lyrics fit so perfectly, love it!

I like the juxtaposition of "Storm of Blood, born from blood, of our fallen brothers" with Fandaniel. Makes it feel like it's about the Ascians instead of the Domans or Ala Mhigans, fits really well thematically with this stage of the story and who he is

Between XIV and the trailers for XVI, I fully believe that CBU3 could be the future of FF. These guys just know how to make stuff that's plain awesome

Every transition of the music and lyric sang is so purposeful and well placed. It may just be video game music but it's deserving to be heard and appreciated far more than that. At @3:24 how it switches back to the Shadowbringers singer(Amanda), how all the lyrics throughout pay tribute to each expansion, peppered with the respective leitmotifs to musically live from the journey start to its completion... Soken is perhaps the most masterful yet in his craft. I wish him many successful yet happy and healthy years in spite of his more recent health set back.

2013 - 2022, glad to be a part of this amazing journey. Now that im too old for MMORPG, that would be my last journey in Eorzea, what a wonderful ending.

did you ever realize that they were announcing the end of an era? read the text carefully: the first part is about the 7th calimity "Fire will be repaid 'Fore our echoes begin to fade" (FF14), directly after that it continues with the days after the reconstruction "Stories sown along the way, Tales of loss and fire and faith" (ARR). Then comes the switch to Estinien and we experience the Dragon War again (Heavensward). Then we hear "Storm of blood, born from blood, of our fallen brothers,Thunder stilled, oaths fulfilled, now we yearn for freedom" which is clearly the stories from Stormblood and we see Fandaniel in the form of Asahi. And finally with "Standing tall in the dark do we carry on, On wings of hope, you rise up through the night" we talk about Shadowbringers and the camera switches to Thancred and Urianger (who we have only known as Astro and Gunbreaker since Shadowbringer) and Graha of course. this song in combination with the video is an absolute masterpiece

That first “faade awayyyy” hits me in the gut everytime

Hearing the song for the first time as she starts singing was easily one of the most memorable moments ive had in the last year. Her vocals sent a chill down my spine I don’t think I’ll ever forget. Ever.

Can't believe i feel nostalgia for this song now :( I felt so happy hearing it in a certain cutscene! Out of all the main themes this one is probably my favorite, ever EVER so SO slightly beating Shadowbringers theme. And I've only been playing this game for almost a year and a half!

I love how you can hear an element of a realm reborn and every expansion's soundtrack, to really sell that endwalker is the finale

Now knowing there is a place for this song in the game, and where that place is. Just makes it that much more powerful

I love the Heavensward part. I wish there was a full version!

A note on the visuals. As our lastest bastard rises through the tower if you look closely the cords wrapping around the light twist in a loose spiral adding to the visual impact.
