I must say it is a bit cool that our flag raising looks almost just like what happened at Mt. Suribachi on Iwo Jima in Rosenthal's famous photograph. Thanks for having the grace to upload this - I know this wasn't your favorite ending.
wait?! so you can continue the campaign after you already won? Every time i beat the campaign (which i've done as all 3 factions) i just start a new one.
In my opinion, I think the EF and the RF were the two extremes with the US being the kinda medium between the two. I mean the RF focused on a lot of heavy hardware and brute force while the EF focused on light infantry, energy weapons and non lethal stuff while the JSF areas were pretty balanced in addition to added accuracy.
@shadowmare97 You're forgetting three things. 1) Retreating didn't prevent the Russian economy from taking a major blow, they were already bankrupt. 2) The cold war (between the US and the USSR) ended with an American Victory as the USSR simply collapsed. We won without firing a shot, further showing how crappy Russia was. 3) We haven't lost yet. We're still in there fighting, so it's a little early to call this another Vietnam.
Well, I concede. I've never heard that before. But would you say that it's true that if we stayed in Nam a little while longer (oh say two more years), that the North would have surrendered?
By the way guys, if you want to listen to the Joint Strike Force's theme in the game, then visit the video response/my channel. (The plays a little bit at the victory cutscene at 1:10 of this video, at the JSF Barracks where you upgrade your units/view your battalion and at the maps Matera, Washington D.C and USS Reagan Seabase at New York)
According the the stats I just pulled, the British Army, Regular and TA combined could muster barely 150K men total. Whereas the combined Army National Guards of the US could muster 330K, NOT counting Regular Army or Reserves. Then there's also the Marine Corps you'd have to worry about, bringing total US ground fighting strength to right around 1.4 million. That's just ground formations, not counting the force multipliers of various AF and naval units. Still feel good about your chances?
@TheFoxTank I didn't find the European ending scary, I thought it was actually very awesome (the idea of a high-tech, culturally diverse, green energy-powered superpower emerging to become the only one in the world after it was formed not that long ago, the creation of something new for mankind etc etc). I guess I liked it because I'm British and like the idea of a unified Europe. The Russian ending was the scary one I think. Not too sure what to think of the American ending.
dude i lost hundreds of men trying to take paris. i got to the last battle and there reinforcements came and screwed me over i just couldent take it. it was the only Euro city left for me. every other Euro city was taken.
That's because war is the best way to get a country out of debt. During World War II, mass production and Americans uniting granted millions of new jobs for the people and the soldiers that came back were offered grants to resume their education thus increasing their value. Coupled with trade and investments, it offered new opportunities such as the rise in the advertisement and entrepreneur business. All of the money went into the Cold War, the Baby Boom, and Vietnam though.
@chickenruler hmmm I didn't know that. I could have sworn that they were in with the Europeans but it's good to know England is still with us. Thanks for the info!
Honestly, France hasn't really been, generally in society, thought of as threatening since 1815. But they ARE the largest military power in the EU, but due to Britain and it's Commonwealth, they're technically the largest.
exactly... the allies technology is so good now america and most european countries have assault rifles with camera scopes that put the distance and red dot on a glass visor on their helmet so you just stick the gun out a window and its like call of duty 4 lol
Ok to the guy who is saying the Cold War is another name for WWII, go read a history book. The Cold War was the period of tension between the West and the Soviet Union right after WWII ended. Also to quote Team America, "America, fuck yeah!" It would have been funny if that song was included for our ending.
they burned down the white house. The US also failed many times to invade Canada successfully. Not to mention the US navy was unable to prevent the British from landing and burning down the whitehouse as mentioned. One of the causes for the war was that the British navy would draft US citizens on their ships which parliament did nothing about. They eventually did, but the US had already declared war when word came. The US still decided to go on with the war.
@PhasersLocked Yes I'm serious. I've got a PS3 version and the same thing happens to me as well. You don't get speeches and you don't get music during the end cutscene (a small detail I've noticed).
i have a great tactic for conquest send a squad of engineers tanks and helicopters to capture uplinks and leave a squad of artillery with helicopters to finish off enemy engineers and rifleman for battle the same but instead of engineers a group of transports and if a unit is in bad state make it retreat
@shadowmare97 Russia may have defeated Afghanistan's excuse for a military, but that was only until we supplied the resistance with American made weapons. All it took to kick out the Reds was geurillas using our weapons, which either shows how better our technology was, or how inferior Russia's military was (and is).
I don't understand one thing,if i capture a capital how come im still at war with that country? If i captured it doesn't that mean they have to forfeit since i captured the main source of a country?
@Sharkattack48 You realise that the home soil of the US wasn't bombarded for years on end like in Europe and China? You also realise that they then gave loans to Europe with MASSIVE interest rates. So yes, they kept their industrialisation in tact and reaped massive profits from the war, so of course they ended up richer.
I'm sorry....but I have to say the German army sure did some whoop-assing against the French. They didn't even know what was going on until the Blitzkrieg had breached their lines.
USA isn't even close to having the most advance military technology the only military advance they came up with are the M16, which overheats and breaks in extremely easy, the Thompson SMG, and Sherman tank, the rest were tooken from other countries
~THOUGHTS~ Russia before war: You know what? We should build up weapons with all this black gold to fuck up the Euros. Yeah! Euros: Fuck! We're being attacked! We can manage, Euros! Fight for victory! U.S.: We'll just sit back and wait for the perfect moment to strike again... Russia: YES! We win against the Euros! victory is ours, comrades! *U.S. arrives with 40,000 gunships, 50,000 tanks, and 10,000,000 infantry* Russia: .............fuck.
So, I'm curious, is the USA now basically the United States of the World? The way it makes it sound it's like the USA [or, for that matter, any victorious nation in this game] takes over the whole world?
Hi, I biugh this game aain and am playing it on expert, do I get extra CR for playing on harder difficulties, and is it possible to continue capturing the rest of the world after you have achieved victory?
its Kx3 Ringleader, i dont have endwar right now but will be getting it back on thursday or so but i am signed up with the europeans and will be switching back to mother russia
@edwinpks2 Stormtroopers are based on German soldiers during World War 2, actually the enitre Empire is based on the Nazis which is why their uniforms are Black, Red,and White NOT Red, White, and Blue
I wonder if the American ending is the canonical one. All throughout most of Tom Clancy's games, we Americans are always the protagonists. What indication would there be that the Russians or the Europeans are the protagonists? The Euros wanted to establish a sort of "Big Brother" society. The Ruskees started the war by funding the "Forgotten Army" terrorists, and blackmailed the world with it's rich oil supply to fund their military spending. While the Yankees just wanted to advance their...
@SaintsSpecOps Sorry, english is not my first language. Anyways we should say : LÉGION ÉTRANGÈRE. And actualy they are bad ass and sent in the most dangerous mission ! And France, even if they didnt acheive anything great in the last century, is a respectable millitary power.
I like the game, its just that war between Europe and the US seems very unlikely. Also, even if that happens, the UK certainly wouldn't allow the Euros to establish any kind of base on British soil. They're very touchy about that kind of thing. There's also the US-UK 'special relationship' to consider. If anything, the UK would fight on the side of the US, if only to keep the Euros off British land. Still, good game, and here's hoping WW3 never happens.
What precisely would you fight us with? The European militaries are emaciated to the point that I'm reasonable certain the collective US National Guards outnumber them, or at least comes close.
@Sharkattack48 When you adjust for inflation, WWII cost America $30 TRILLION in 2009 dollars. The couple trillion spent on the War on Terror so far ain't nothin'.
@MrJoviun What you've failed to realise is that war isn't a numbers game... If that were the case, we may be outmanned, but never outgunned. I'm not going to sit here and criticise your loyalty to your own Country's military, it's only natural for you to hope that you would win that dream war of yours. I'm sure the Germans thought the same in WWII, along with the other countries we've defeated.
@Sharkattack48 I agree that economy of the USA is greatly developed, and that their military is the most powerful on the world, but only if USA goes 1v1 against someone. Russia and China united can annihilate USA back to the stone age. USA was the country that made the first aircraft that went past mach 1, but that tech was acquired from Germans after WWII. And to make matters worse it was British who gave the tech to the US, and then US took all the credit for it.
something like that did happen before it was called The Vietnam war. And correct me if im wrong but Vietnam wasn't a supper power now was it. I guess it takes more than sheer power and size to conquer the human spirit nowa days.
@DemocracyDefender You only get the speeches on the PC and XBox 360 versions, which is annoying. The PS3 also get crappier graphics and a more broken soundtrack.
The US only spends about 4% of it's GDP on defense. But since we've got something like a $14 Trillion GDP, it's a pretty big sum. And in this world, hard power is the only thing that matters. You can lie to yourself all you want that it's not true, but it is.
@MrJoviun Well, for starters, the things the Vietnamese used were built to be used where they were in, plus they knew where the land was and how to navigate around, and the U.S. was cocky. But I doubt you would have such an easy time beating us even if the whole world did it. It wouldn't be lickety split no matter what you sent in.
