Just FYI, this is the update to the original Eva. The Esse Esse 9 update is Esse Esse 9+. The major change in each is a much larger battery.

It looks good but I’m glad that the technology is changing rapidly because 88 miles range doesn’t help much in Australia, at that rate it will take a long time to get around our big distances. But it looks well specified, high quality components, yep, but not for me , yet.

My Yamaha cost around $3500/yr to fuel and maintain. My electric is twice as quick, twice as fun, and 1/4 the cost to own and operate. The math is easy and personally I’d rather have one Enérgica than 3 gas bikes.
@THEREALZENFORCE
@THEREALZENFORCE 3 года назад
@@evolv.e Your Yamaha must be an MT-03 if the Energica is twice as fast. You confuse fast (top speed) and quick (acceleration). No Energica comes even near 293kmh fast top speed the R1 does, or 299kmh of the S1000RR or the 306kmh the M1000RR do. And a Duke 890R or Monster Plus or MT-09SP will be quicker on curvy roads than the heavy bad suspension Energica. And the Energica still needs brakes calibers, tyres, brake fluid maintenance. Will also be funny to find an Energica store near you if your bike has a problem with the battery or electronics. Triumph Service intervals are every 10000 miles, Yamaha and BMW every 10000km which is far better than decades ago what gas bikes service intervals were. For your 3 gas bikes for the price of an Energica let's see : 1. 2021 Triumph Street Triple RS 1200 (or S1000R M Endurance chain) 2. Yamaha Tenere 700 3. Svartpilen 401 So a hypernaked, an adventure offroader capability and a mini scrambler for the price of one Energica Rivelle :-) or 1. Ducati Monster Plus (or MT-09SP or Duke 890R or Street Triple RS) 2. Indian Scout Bobber (cruiser) 3. Svartpilen 401 (scrambler with a bit offroad) for the price of an Energica Rivelle or just one bike : - Bmw S1000R with M Endurance chain or S1000XR or R1250R or R1250RS or - Street Triple RS 1200 or - Super Duke R or Super Duke GT or - Streetfighter V4S or upcoming Streetfighter V2 and still having a lot of money left for maintenance until the bike has 80k miles (where the Energica battery warranty stops at 30000 miles). Energicas would be great but for half the price they are sold, they are currently nothing more then overpriced low real life range electric commuter hyper"scooters". Try to calculate how long the charging times and frequencies alone would take for a trip from London to Lausanne Switzerland and the amount of time you loose compared to a 2 minute refill of a gas tank. You will loose hours on a long trip with an EV bike. The Revonex if better priced could be a more mainstream alternative as an EV city, urban commuter bike than the Energica. The Energica cost nearly as much as a Renault Zoe and Peugeot 208-e which is ridiculous

The problem with electric bikes are the price, the standing around for the charging when it's pissing down with rain in freezing weather, having to find chargers, the cars have sat Navs that find chargers I doubt the bikes have that provision so you will have to find them yourself.

It's weird. You'd expect electric bikes to be geared for commutes and city riding but I feel this one is a bit overpowered and thus overpriced. If your buying this as a weekend fun bike this is more like a third pick. It seems more like a showing of capability then a product to sell. I'm sure EV bikes will get better but for me not viable yet.
@HomoKieran
@HomoKieran 3 года назад
How would you adjust the gearing and how would that make it more suitable for commuting and city riding? It's already geared such that it can far exceed the speed limit while still having enough wheel torque to spin the tyre and hit 60 in 3 seconds, adjusting it in either direction isn't going to make it any more sensible.

@@_Makanko_ My mistake, I thought you were talking about the actual gearing but you meant geared as in "designed for". Just like petrol bikes there are different electric bikes for different uses, nothing wrong with having more options to choose from.

But worth every penny and more. Acceleration twice that of a Panagale V4S 40-90mph at a lower price and this Italian is quite civilized compared to the Ducati. I rode my Ribelle 800 miles last weekend and cost $50 less than my Yamaha. Riding the amount each week, I’d save $2600/yr on gas alone. That’s 13 grand saved over five years. And that’s just gas, not counting other maintenance not required on the electric. Bike will pay for itself in around five years with the amount of riding I do - a bargain to own and a dream to ride if you ask me. I know electric bikes are getting better but they are completely soulless. At classic bike shows crowds surround 50 year old bikes to to hear them start and run, will this happen in another 50 years to these electric bikes? Until these bikes are as convenient as petrol bikes to own then it's a complete no from me, how could you possibly tour on one? The long way up wouldn't have been possible without a huge backup and support. It's a myth that electric bikes are completely green if you consider the carbon used in manufacturing the batteries and bike. You should check out Harry Metcalfe's vid on how green your electric is that you are charging this bike with. Luckily I'm old enough not to have this tech forced on me by an over zealous green lobby and Euro legislators....recon I've got another 10 - 15 years riding in me yet. A Hoover hum over that glorious noise of a Yamaha CP4 engine.......nooo!

I just rode 800 miles last weekend I’m through three states for just over $21 of electricity and took about the same time as my Yamaha, but is a lot more fun on the electric. My electric riding buddies tour every week, putting more miles on our bikes than most of my gas powered riding friends. When you have this much fun, you want to go and ride long distances. DCFC makes top offs quick and back on the road easily. We can disagree about soul. My Performance Tesla Model S is by far the most exciting car I’ve ever owned and my Enérgica is by far the best bike I’ve ever owned. I spend more time on the road, and my vehicles spend less time in the shop. They also cost much less to own. Putting every other vehicle in my rear view mirror beats making noise any day and out accelerating Ducati’s, Lamborghini’s, etc does more for my soul than slower, louder, and less cost efficient bikes. Make all the noise and vibration you want, but the soul I’m focused on is my own and electric gets it moving quicker than any gas bike has been able to. I’m never going back to gas, as everything else seems like they move in slow motion by comparison and make a lot of noise doing so. I don’t have time to stand around bike’s just to hear them start and run, as I’d rather spend more time riding. More smiles per mile is what I’m after. Never been one to buy a vehicle for showing it off, especially motorcycles. Had a neighbor.. loved to rev his bike, ride it to the local bar, chat with boys, decorate it with chrome and tassels, etc. While there’s people and bike’s for that lifestyle, I just want to ride, and do it quickly. Very quickly.
