Energy bills 'more expensive than rent' 

My electicituy bills used to be a bit more than 200 every 3 months now I just got a bill for 570 , even though we use electricity alot less and have taken more care . This governnent is insane

Take a vacation to the Pacific during winter. It's cheaper than paying gas bills.

Rent ~£10,000 per year, by April energy will be £6,000 per year. That's 16k before any other bills or food. Anyone with less than 30k household income is going to have a very hard time.

"State Support" just means more taxes the Brits will have to pay later down the road.

They need a long term plan for this not a quick 6 month plan, start installing solar panels on every roof, nationalise energy companies, stop charging the same price for energy no matter what the source. Things need to change not just a temp fix.

It's three times higher for those who's bills cap has ended, come on sky, make it clear. Our gas gas increased 90% and electricity 35% which is bad enough.

DONT use lg oven, use toaster oven; DONT use electric/gas dryer, hang clothes to dry, get a couple more couches to put in your house, rent them out to overnight renters, (they use the couch from 10pm to 6am, then they take off the bedding and are OFF it, sit in chair to eat breakfast then go to work, come home, have dinner, sit in chair to 10pm then the couch is theirs to 6am) 300 lbs a month, no smoking no drinking no pets no noise no visitors.

EDF wont even offer me a fixed rate offer…….they have pulled all there fixed rate deals…this doesn’t bode well how expensive will it become in April and once it has it gone up will it ever come down to 2021 prices? We need to cap like France. Nationalise if necessary. We live in a northern hemisphere country heating is essential not a luxury we dont have option of paraffin heaters and open fire places like our great grandmothers in most contemporary housing so reliant on gas and electric especially if renting.

We're an island. Why the hell aren't we self sufficient. Wave wind but most importantly nuclear. Clean clean clean. Nuclear. Eat seasonally and make our own products. It's utter madness. Importing everything.

Move to goa, bali, Bahamas for winter. It would be many times cheaper to do that. Many Russians and Germans move to Goa for 3-6 months during winter. Many have set up their small businesses. And then move back to their respective countries during summer

Ten plastic buckets? Diameter(top). 11.8 in. X 3.14 X 10 = 370.52 sq inches of surface area. How many sq inches surface area / acre of land? 6,272,640 sq in. 16929 of these ten five gallon bucket systems have a surface that equals to one acre. 169290 volts of electricity could be produced per acre of surface? Europe has dirt.

For example, Germany invested $580 billion in solar, wind, and storage in an attempt to replace their fossil fuels. Their failure wasn’t for lack of effort or investment! @energybants and @MadiHillydid the math: Had Germany invested in nuclear instead, even at the cost of the $12.5 billion per reactor cost of the U.K.’s Hinkley Point C., it would have had enough energy to completely decarbonize its electricity AND its entire light vehicle fleet. They would now have energy security and one of the cleanest grids in the world instead of the second dirtiest in Europe.
