This was very helpful. To be honest i knew energy recharge was a good thing to help recharge the energy needed for the elemental bursts but i didnt know how, why, or how much it really helped. J play somewat casually as a f2p mobile player. Still not no expert by any means.
@@zeyy84 It depends on the character's CD. Like Jean would like a Fav Sword over a Sacrificial bc resetting the 6 sec CD wouldn't do much, but Xingqiu would like a Sacrificial over Fav bc his 20 sec CD is so long.
Another strategy worth noting is using the character's skill then ultimate ability right afterwards. The character will get the elemental particles while they are in animation for the ultimate, so that the character will have some energy charged up for next ultimate.
@@robertcampbellii9787 No, it is the same particles. It is just more efficient because it takes a couple of seconds for the particles to reach the character. Rather than waiting to get the particles by normal attacking, using the ultimate takes a couple of seconds to use from the animation. This technique is if you have ultimate charged, and plan to use both skill and ultimate. So it is better than using ultimate then skill because of what I said before. But for Fischl's case, you wouldn't want to do this. You would want to seperate Fischl's skill and ultimate when Oz leaves the field so that you can get more Oz time on field.
@@robertcampbellii9787 A better example would be Xinqiu instead of Fischl, because Oz generates energy everytime he is on the field, and you usually use your ultimate to increase the time Oz is on the field. On the other hand, Xingqiu's E is a two-hit skill that generates particles when they damage an enemy and then goes into cooldown; since particles have a travel time, even if you use your elemental skill first, the particles will not reach Xingqiu immediately. So, if you use your Elemental Skill, and immediately use your Elemental Burst, what happens is: you generate particles with your ES, you spend the energy you already had by casting your EB, and after you have spent that energy and you are at 0, the particles generated from the ES would have reached Xingqiu, saving time and allowing you to swap to your DPS faster. If you do it the other way around, you have to leave Xingqiu out in the field and wait for the particles to reach him, before swapping him out.

The video mentions diminishing returns with the Energy Recharge stat, and I can back this up after running Xingqui with 240% energy recharge for a while and transitioning him to 200% ER. There is very little difference. I did extensive calculations and found that at base 100% ER, every 1% ER translates to 1 less energy to charge an 80 energy elemental burst. But at 200% ER, every 1% additional ER translates to only 0.25 less energy needed to charge an 80 energy elemental burst. This diminishing returns occurs much quicker on bursts needing lower energy. With this in mind, depending on the energy needed to charge your characters elemental burst, there's really no need to go above 200% energy recharge.
Yep, this is why popular build for Xinqiu is Sacrificial sword for double E skill and ER substat, then if you don't have good ER sub stat you use ER sand to aim for 200% ER. With 200% ER double E skill from sac sword almost fill up his energy, gaining about 60+ energy iirc so you can do your ult off cooldown most of the time
That was pretty helpful and it helped me clear the last two the timed combat (that I discovered at least) against the big earth guy and the two knives guys since those two require a large amount of burst given the low timer.
Speaking of diminishing returns it is a good idea to keep in mind that in a lot of instances, specially challenging ones there is a mechanic that drains energy of your character(s). Like that God forsaken floor 11 in the abyss (now changed) & that "superfluous" energy recharge rate shines like a diamond in that scenario! Great video my man. ^__^
Aren’t “batteries” the characters that generate a lot of particles/orbs? If i understand correctly energy recharge affects only how much ebergy a particle will give to that character, but the battery should be good for generatibg energy for off-firld chars, am i correct?

Pros with 200% ER Xiangling after using their burst and skill: gets their burst fully recharged before CD ends. Me with 180% ER Xiangling after using my burst and skill: only at half charged when CD ends. Also me: *visible confusion*
I know that you need energy to recharge your burst from those "best build guide" videos but never knew what they meant by Fischl being a battery. I always wondered why my Xingqiu got so much energy back when my other characters don't. I have always just been spamming the skill button when I get the chance. I now know now to wait a second. Ah, good stuff, didn't know about that slime trick. At 37 I'm an older style player who really only understands to just hack away at something until it dies and never put much effort into understand certain mechanics of the game. I know enough but also not enough to really maximize things. My main account has Klee, my second account has Diluc. I noticed the other day that Diluc builds his 'q' really fast. Having learned from my main account I now max everything out on him right away at each ascension so he might be overpowered. Started messing around after that and found that switching characters and doing their 'e' creates orbs and particles a lot faster than just hacking away. Then I realized that I was probably wasting everything by rarely using his 'q' and also not switching to uncharged characters as the energy comes my way. Now I know for sure to switch, it might not be as much energy with matching elements but any bit helps.

i wanna try a team where i use 4 supports running all sacrificial weapons and prioritizing energy recharge and just spamming elemental skill and elemental burst back to back
Ive done this with chongyun, xinqiu and xinyan. I've used all energy recharge weapons, skyward pride on chong, sac sword on xinqiu, and favonius on xinyan. It's so fun to use it like there burst is always ready when it is off cooldown. I had c5 chongyun so I can utilize his cd reduction on his c2
If you have Venti then it is pretty easy and viable build as he give so much energy from his E there is a team com that basically do nothing but E spell then burst on rotation without any normal atk in between tho the most popular one is just Venti+Jean and some support element to break shield
West. *The energy particle generation from elemental skill is static/always the same* , only modified if different version is casted i have noticed that while Venti generate 3 particle per E most of the time, sometimes it is 2. BUT IT IS STILL 3. the 3rd particle just happen to have same animation position. i test it by also looking at the Q recharge bar at 3:39 Jean seems to generate 2 particle only at FIRST GLANCE. Look at the right side particle closely, there's actually another one trailing just ever so slightly behind it, that's why it is slightly bigger than the left you can test this by pumping some ER stat for Jean/anyone and emptying the Q bar, then use E Keep repeating until you found the sad looking 2 particle only, and test the energy gained on the bar it is a painful process but it can be done Well it is quite annoying how the visual can be deceiving, but at least i know it's just visually and doesn't affect gameplay
so, theoricaly if you take a certain character elemeburst energy cost and you divide it by his/her elemburst cooldown time, you get a number for how much energy you have to aquire per second so you can use his elemburst again as soon as it came off cd. then you need to take into consideration how much energy your team is capable of produce with all their abilities is this cooldown time, who is collecting the energy particles (matching or not matching element), and you can get an aproximation of how much energy your team or your main dps is gathering per second. then if your energy requirement is higher than the energy your team abilities produce and collect, you factor +%energy recharge bonus to match those numbers and you get and "optimized" +%energy recharge for a certain character in a certain team comp? is that right?
For me, who's been saving primos since Klee to have enough to get C1 Xiao, knowing how to balance who gets the orbs is crazy important for spiral abyss. I have 1 main DPS (klee) for 1 party, and then have to use Elemental bursts and reactions on the 2nd party to even have a chance. I've gotten floor 9 and 10 to 9*, but can only get 6* on 11 and 12. Also, for people looking to get Xiao, it's important to know that his E generates a ton of particles normally, but ZERO particles while in his burst form. This is crucial info, as you may want to consider holding his E's for after his burst, as well as running him with Sucrose/Jean so that he can have other means of energy regen after bursting if you happened to use his E during the burst.
It's also worth noting that there's a soft energy recharge cap for each character depending on their energy generation. e.g Venti's is around 190% any more is overkill but around this mark is perfect if you want his burst available after cool down It would be nice if there's more data on this since it gets confusing building new support characters sometimes. But I guess trail and error and getting a 'feel' of the characters mechanics works too since all play styles are different. Thanks for this useful guide!
Yep good point! I thought about how one would figure out how much energy recharge they would really need for a given character. Like you said, data on other people’s builds would probably be the most useful.
The main reason i’m here is because i’ve noticed my bursts building a lot faster after building battery bennet despite using him a lot less I was wondering if ER of off-field characters effected on-field characters
As a new player this is extremely useful, I already knew matching elements helped but could only speculate whether or not recharge mattered on supports.(Does the same apply to EM? The burst effects that last after you switch applies the switched character's EM or the character who the burst belongs to?)
I have read guides that remind players to ‘pick up’ particles. It looks to me like the are automatically picked up by whoever is active. Am I missing something? What about the large jewel things that occasionally drop? They are colored to match certain elements. Do they have to be run over by the matching elemental character to be useful?
tl;dr I think it ain't so bad. I study linguistics (so I know a bit or two) but I'd like your input since I'm guessing you speak chinese. I'd say that one vowel off (or maybe two if I'm un-generous) is not as bad as wrong consonants, in my opinion. Like saying Qiqi as [kiki] instead of tchi-tchi [tʃitʃi] (or whatever finer transcription you come up with in international phonetic alphabet (IPA). I'm not sure which exact sibilant sound is used here even though I do hear a bit of difference between the different versions of the "sh" sound in the english, korean and chinese voiceovers of the game, while it's just pronounced like "nanna" in japanese). It doesn't help that the most common realization of Q (most often inseparable from the u because it occurs as "qu" [kw]), [k] in english, is not related to the pinyin ([k] differs from [tʃ] in quite a few ways, not least of which is that [tʃ] has two components: a plosive and a sibilant), kinda like how G is pronounced as [k] in english but [k] with the pinyin system ([g] differs from [k] by its use of vocal cords) in chinese. Anyway, point being, in english, since its use of the written latin alphabet is not as closely tied to the phonetic realizations of words, there seems to be more variants in sound for a letter than what I'm guessing there is in any on Chinese spoken variety or the standards for pinyin transcriptions. So I guess in English there's a tendency that's more lax when it comes to pronouncing foreign words and names. In english, common realizations of the graphical unit "a" include [æ] or [ɑ] (as in "ah"), [ɛj], [ə] etc. If we examine which phonetic realizations are present based on their nearby context (roughly speaking, that's the work of phonology), we find that languages often produce variants of vowels decided by nearby letters. There is, then, no surprise that there's a few different pronunciations that occur when you present this game to quite a few gamers who aren't phoneticians nor chinese speakers, who don't know about the pinyin system or haven't yet looked up the pinyin system, because then the default principle used is to do it based a combination of their language instincts (which may include second languages as well as their native language). People do seem to pronounce foreign words like this, as long as they can decipher the letters. They have an easier time with the romanized transcriptions because that's the alphabet they understand and because there's many similar languages which also use the roman/latin alphabet. And although some combinations of letters evoke a lot of doubt about how to pronounce for the average english speaker because the combinations of letters are very unexpected (especially certain combinations of consonnants in a complex syllable onsets / attacks(literal translation from french)) in english, Ningguang isn't that far from the usual english words. English knows how to handle vowel+ng segments. Keep in mind there's four spoken languages in the game. But how would you pronounce it (IPA transcription please)? Also, how much should we expect normal people (or maybe genshin impact gamers) to be knowledgeable on phonetics and on pinyin transcriptions for chinese into roman letters?
In planning my team for eula, I was undecided on going Bennett sup or diona sup. But seeing how much energy you regen with element resonance, I'm thinking diona will be the way to go with eulas high energy cost + cooldown
with as much time you put into this game and these videos, it would be very nice (and appreciated) if you also took the time to pronounce the characters' names correctly. xingqiu sounds kind of like "sing-choe" for example
how to determine the minimum limit of energy recharge if we looking from energy cost of each characters? ex: keqing has 40 energy cost how much energy recharge she needs at least to get the ult "Q" back before the cool down, or like jean has 80 energy cost of course she need higher energy recharge than keqing, but how to determine the minimum limit? Correct me if I'm wrong. So if I spam Rosaria's Elemental skill, some of the particle will be given to, example, Amber. Then if I equipped Amber with ER bonuses, those particles will give more energy?

I cannot understand if ER stat affects the efficiency of skill for another chars. I mean, for example, if I will put er sands on my off field chiori, will my onfield noelle recharge her burst faster? Is there any reason to increase er for chiori

Can you make a video for the optimal way to build the Klee and Fischl Combo? Like is 4 piece crimson witch and 4 piece thunder fury worth it since do a alot of overload damage or is gladiator 2 piece on klee better. Is one overload boost enough? etc
I like the 4 pc sets on both of them. Assuming your running fischl support, they’re both only doing elemental damage and it’s hard to control which one is proc’ing the reaction. So if the one character is proc’ing the reaction but doesn’t have a 4pc set, the set on the other character doesn’t matter. I’ll put that idea in the queue but hopefully that helps for now!

If your using Qiqi for a melt comp with Klee she would be valuable. If you aren’t really then Bennet is probably a better choice for hiss attack boost + pyro resonance attack boost.
not sure if this was mentioned in the video but I remember hearing you say Noelle doesn't generate energy in another video. How can I find this out with other characters? It seems like everyone gets 100.0 energy recharge as level 1/base but maybe I'm making things more complicated
