HI youtubers, well it looks like i found some internets after all, the fabulous people at the Co the' cafe' in my home town of Brantome came to the rescue and the coffee was superb.
this video is just to show what a lot of fun can be had from a little horse power. the Enfield Scram and indeed the Himalayan share that same little 411 single pot, although i wouldn't say its especially refined, it certainly does it's best to put a smile on your face.
its great to use the upper limits of your engines torque and horsepower, but remembering not to get yourself into situations that might cause you issues, meaning , going for overtakes that are just a reach to far.
Having the great privilege of owning a tiny peace of France allows me to enjoy the peaceful roads and lack of potholes along the fabulous rural tarmac trails. France has so much to offer the motorbike rider. delightful cafe's, beautiful towns always engaging locals. the French have a great passion for motorbikes, and they are always ready with that cool two fingered recognition as you pass each other. I've always been grateful of the conversations that develop whenever French riders meet and say hello. lanquige is never a barrier to like minded individuals.
watch out for some more little videos from Brantome and the French Dordogne.

I love this size of two-valve, air-cooled single. I did Portugal three times and Greece once from England [and back] in the '80s on a Yamaha XT500E. A bit more go than the Scram, but the same sort of thing. Has the Scram been reliable? I like a coffee and an afternoon Snickers myself here in southwest Portugal. Very effective video. You capture the essence of a bike of this type really well. Lovely to really hear the bike. No need to go any faster than this. Nick

20 hp!? What blasphemy! The Indian gods will punish you! I'm only kidding, but the 410 has a full 24 hp engine. Thumbs up. Thank you.

Nice, they are selling the 411 Scram for €4800 where I live. I have an XR1200 Sportster and it's too fast for country cruising so I'm really tempted by the Scram. Do you think it's ok for autoroute, because I occasionally do longer trips, it's 160km from where I am to the Eurotunnel for example.

Hi Rufus thanks for the comment. yes i would say the scram is fine for auto route riding, the key thing with that 411 engine is to make sure its well run in. ive found with the Himalayan i had and this scram is that they are very different engines after about 1500 miles, its been noted by me and others that these engines are a bit knocky when new if pushed, this definitely disappears after being run in. plus the engine pulls much better, as an example i had my partner pillion yesterday and the engine pulled virtually unchanged from my solo riding, it never struggled up hills etc. it was really impressive, and totally different from when i bought it. also my view is that now the new Himalayan is coming into dealers and the scram is going to be revised with that sherpa engine, i think the dealers will really be wanting to offload the old stock, id be inclined to go make a hard offer, i think they will look to clear what they can now. but the scram is still a very good package. regards paul
