Holy heck, I don't think Tastosis noticed but [spoiler below] . . . . . . . . . in game 7 Soulkey ran his lings down that lane in the middle in view of HerO's overlord, then (02:06:43) went off to the left, looped back toward his own base and ran down the middle again, possibly making HerO think even more lings were coming
I enjoyed Tastosis being voiceast over the Korean casters as a compromise for the camera. Felt like I was watching Most Extreme Elimination Challenge from back in the day.
They dont know how to render a video properly. This upload has low video bitrate. It's almost a joke to be honest cuz everything is blurry due to that.
long live Tastosis and ASL. What an incredible season, I do think Soulkey is starting his "era" of dominance after years of people wondering why he hasn't won.
2:02:32 La mejor parte de todo el stream, saber que Starcarft es el abuelo de los esports y sigue siendo el número 1. Yo soy un fanático de España y en Europa sigue habiendo muchos fans de este maravilloso juego. GRACIAS TASTOSIS Y MUCHAS GRACIAS ASL!
I'm glad SoulKey didn't repeat his mistake from the 1st game in the decider game. It's always nice to see people adapting and learning throughout the series
love how they've trained for 10 years, played tens of thousands of hours and they win the competition to be the best player alive and their expression: =|
Well, for a ZvZ, that wasn't awful, but still quite a let-down from the rest of the tournament. Regardless, thank you Tasteless & Artosis, your commentary is always a treat!
SK really proved himself in ASL16. 76 was an incredibly original map. It took him quite some time to forget that memory. I honestly didn't give him a shot back then, but he has his basics well.
Congratulations to the 🏆 winner Thank you Tastosis for the superb casts It was my first ASL where I could see games in person. Can’t wait for next season Long live StarCraft
Thanks for getting these videos out as soon as possible, guys! Humorous note: Missed chance to have Tasteless with Sock Puppet Arty 😂 Excellent finals all around.
Watching all those ultras get plagued was awesome, but the devourer\muta\scourge vs queen\muta\guardian finale was unmatched in the history of the esport.
@@miqotesoulia8620 dont forget scourge. I am also not such a big fan of TvT because most the times they only make 2 marines and then switch totally into mech (like most TvP games but there are at least a few marines all in). However these games are at least longer. Most diverse games are Zerg vs other races. They should add a new resource research depending on the race you fight. for example buffing hydralisks/spores ONLY when fighting zerg.
3 Zergs in top 16, 2 in the finals. Ridiculous, but both these players completely deserve to be here. But now that this happened, he has to go for 3 and become the true legend. Absolute mind of steel, you just can't shake this guy in a series.
Of course SoulKey's the first player to break the first game loss curse 🔥. I'm all for this new era of dominance from SK, one of my favourite players. I feel bad for herO though... He's so good and deserves a championship 😢
The craziest part I noticed while looking at both of their builds from each game is that SoulKey will float minerals before picking a build. I have to assume its because hes waiting on information like if 4/5 pool is incoming or something like that.
Awesome series, thanks Tastosis! I'm gonna he in Seoul in August and would love to go to the studios. I saw that the ASL starts around August/sept. I couldn't find dates googling. Are they already set?
Haven't watched yet but of the mirror matchups ZvZ is my favorite. Here's to hoping there is at least one 25 minute game this series! Edit: I love how you made caster park ( I believe thats his name) much more audible in this cast, I love to hear how hype he gets.
and tasteless mic sounded bad at times. they seem to be plagued by weird technical issues. maybe if people donated more to the Patreon they would get it right
Tasteless was soooo close to the perfect transition into the game. It could've been, "I've got the skies covered. You've got the seas covered. We're going to go into this next game." Good cast. SoulKey played well and overall outplayed Hero. Solid finals.
Fun map idea for ZvZ - if the game starts with two zerg players, a trigger is set on the map to auto spawn a spore colony in the base and natural for each player. I feel like this could be a safe and fun way to try and explore more late game ZvZ matches without any outrageous map designs
Yeah no more 3rd place match. On Liquipedia it says season 16 and 17 both gave 3mil to each 3rd and 4th place equally. Maybe not enough people were watching?
@2:06:46 - does Soulkey path his lings to make it appear as if he's mass flooding? when in reality he's transitioning to muta? It looked like the intent had herO (and our casters) fooled that it was a ling all in.
I don’t know if the sound balance was a little off for this video but I had a much harder time, in this particular video, hearing the English VoiceOver with the Korean as loud as it was.
20:16 Artless commentary commences 30:15 Game one! 48:13 Game two! 58:53 Game three! 1:14:39 Game four! (plus some good pre-game banter) 1:32:37 Games five and six! (plus tasteless gets a geography lesson) 2:01:57 Game seven!
thanks for the casts, this ASL season was great! btw could you guys turn the volume down for the korean audio when the translator is talking? the koreans and BGM are clashing with the translator (like at 8:00)
It was a great season, congratulations to the winner, he definitely deserved it! I am grateful for the ASL experience, but I do wish we had a sister tournament in a double Round Robin format as well. Just shower thoughts.
I feel like the FINALS deversed a better audio quality which makes me think both of them weren't home for the recording, and it shows, especially with Tasteless' robovoice :(
Also drives me nuts tasteless wont get an actual cam from this decade when its his job. Artosis looks great, Tasteless is in 240p. If they wore suits again that would be a nice touch as well, take the cast more seriously.
@@Mairve Trust me... tasteless doesn't care. If he cared about his job or this game he would offer some valuable insight instead of relying completely on Artosis.
@@johngelderblom7107 😂😂😂 ZvZ is just so stupid. Cheese and rush every game. Then again, its better than TvT which would last for 6 hours. Only watchable mirror matchup is PvP.
It's not only the builds that worked. Also are those who failed. They may Become a future revolution. Like snow with his mass Reaver's or soulkey with his one base island base for troy.
No worry about things being over in a half hour, they played 53 minutes. No spores, no hydras, very old-school. Hero's micro wasn't up to the task, but he did finally break the 'Winner of the first game takes the title' streak.
