Yeah, The older Hondas are great, Some of the best FF cars on the planet... Europeans never could understand that torque is the enemy of a front-wheel-drive car, They've always been obsessed with low end unusable power, because the cars are designed around economy, practicality, safety not performance, so there performance cars are kind of a contradiction in function. That's what led Europe down its own demise with diesels...

@@LazloRTR what would be in the same class? A fit? The fit doesn't have a performance version....but Honda knows how to make a killer car but won't build it. A k swapped fit from factory would monster everything in its class .

They would end up 1 1/2 tons with turbocharged lazy engine, That favour torque over peak power (which is the enemy of a front-wheel-drive) They would be forced to give up on most of the formula that made that car unique and great and would have to use cheap tricks to make the car perform better.. Just like that EG6 Seeker shows us, if you updated any of those cars like ef, eg, ek, crx, dc to modern standards there wouldn't be a modern hot hatch that could stand to it in a track setting...

Yes. The r32 has too much weight. 1600kg vs 1200kg The dsg will not turn much faster as the professionals in the Type R

well the dc2 was cranked up a very little. probably like 10-20 hp. not much. the dc5 and r32 were both stock. I've heard that this body style was a lot heavier than the other r32. it was keeping up and cornering well. so it stood a chance the entire time. it's just at the end of the day it became driver vs driver and it just didn't pull off the w.

The guy in the r32 drove it like a fwd lol. Could a been way more aggressive.

No way. I’ve owned all four (mk4 R32 & Gti, mk5 R32 & Gti, as well as a polo gti 9n3). The mk4 R32 was by far the best car of the lot. Very well made, felt amazing to drive, plus the sound, a very special car.

I owned one for 5 years and the engine sounds is best in class haha

It's a nice interior that will rattle and creak after a year or two and smell like a Crayola factory after 6-7 years.

@@illewmenadeh722 I don't think so, in its standard form perhaps but the colt 1.5 is given at 197ps in switzerland with no specific power upgrade, mapping only, 200bhp for a 1.5 turbo (which is what everyone gets after a remap) is quite decent, it's main defect is it's suspension, which call for a set of coilovers !

With weak I meant the engine hasn´t enough power when it´s stock. The engine has potential.

@@illewmenadeh722 The Colt is capable of producing 200hp with a simple remap. It was only detuned to compete with prices. Mitsubishi left it up to the owner’s discretion if they wanted to restore the engine to its original power. Any Colt type R or Ralliart should not be underestimated.

Yes GTI DSG would be the way to go. Remapped engine to 250HP (a turbo replacement and 300+ hp) Semi slick tires and a Locking diferential, and aftermarket suspension It would easily compete with the integras

265justy not really, 1.8l 4cracker is pretty much at its max, but 3.2l 6cyl from golf with only as 30hp more has much much muuuuch more growing potential ;)
