Thanks. 1. For “jing di” or “jing bpa,”, because its a question, should I use a rising or higher tone when saying it? 2. All these expressions/phrases - is it necessary to add kha/krap to make it polite? Will adding kha/krap make them sound strange/funny because we would be trying to be informal/casual but too polite at the same time? Thanks😀🙏

I can read some simple conversations in Thai language. But the Thai tone really broke me. Thai pronunciation is really too complicated for me as a Chinese.
@byu99
@byu99 3 года назад
Many people said that Thai tones are similar to Chinese but they are actually pretty distinct. Chinese 3rd tone seems like a raising tone in Thai but it is still not exactly the same. It requires a lot of time to practice. 加油 💪 susu

Anyone know this word? Sounds like "hrap". For some reason when watching videos this word always stood out for me but I never found out what it means.
@byu99
@byu99 2 года назад
Probably, it’s from the word “ครับ kráp” which is pronounced in childish or cute ways. It became “หรับ hráp” sometimes. You perhaps found this word from young male characters in movies or TV-series.

Hello 👋 Thanks again for watching my videos! ฉันเอง chăn ayng means “It’s me!” If we break them down, chăn is “l or me” for female speakers and “ayng” means “myself!” which is shorten from the word “ตัวเอง dtua ayng”. This compound noun means “me myself!” (direct translation). If you use this in a conversation, it will be “Oh! It’s me!” chăn ayng chăn ayng Hope you find my answer helpful!

@byu99
@byu99 3 года назад

To some people here. In text posts people laugh by typing 55555 because its pronounced haa
@acesomido8425

And 5 or haa is in high tone so whenever I pronounce 555 it's like I'm laughing in high pitch and long syllables
@byu99
@byu99 3 года назад
Exactly! The number 5 pronounces "hâa" (falling tone)! It's a Thai text slang.
