Stumbled across this and those bunch of Malaysian Chinese customers, I can't hold back and laugh at their conversation. Commenting its a family restaurant - wife&hubby and dad&mum 😂
They should be Malaysian of Chinese ethnicity judging from the way they were juggling English, Mandarin and Cantonese when communicating within themselves. Also, their English and Mandarin accent sound more like how Malaysian Chinese speak than the Singaporean Chinese. Another thing is the younger Singaporean Chinese nowadays no longer speak Chinese dialets as frequent and fluent as these group of ppl.
They don't know that the cute girl is the wife of the big buy in the movie "Train to Pusan". and the old lady is the Oscar winner in female supporting actress Yoon Uh Jung in 2021. Had they known, they would have been taking photo with the "server" instead of the Korean food...
just for general knowledge: cantonese is spoken not only in hk/macau. cantonese is just one of the many dialects spoken by chinese ppl. example in mainland china, singapore, malaysian etc......
nope. speaking Cantonese doesnt means they are from Hong Kong, especially the way they mix Engish and Cantonese and their tone. I can assure you they are 100% Malaysian. Malay, chinese and indian are the 3 major races in Malaysia, and because of our different race and ethnicity, we talk in mixed language in daily life. Most of the Chinese here would can speak 3 languages minimum
