【Synopsis】In the last years of the Tang Dynasty, a military governor and warlord named Zhu Wen is out in the countryside when he happens to come across a boy who has been raised by wolves. The warlord decides to take the boy in, adopt him, and name him Zhu You Wen. Zhu Wen then proceeds to launch an ultimately successful coup, usurping the Tang monarch and installing himself as the first Emperor of the Later Liang Dynasty (907-923). The new Emperor names Zhu You Wen as a royal prince.
At court, Zhu You Wen forms a bond with a woman named Ma Zhai Xing, the daughter of a government official.
Despite his lofty status at court, Zhu You Wen is motivated by a strong sense of justice that was instilled in him during his years of living in the wild. He and Ma Zhai Xing begin to form a romantic bond. And with her support, he plans to temper his adoptive father’s unpopular and overly strict reforms - and battles to foil a series of dastardly plans hatched by his scheming foster brothers.

I cannot explain how much i really love the music of this show....... how the lovely female voice sings the melody, and the totally male rapper comes in and it fits the beat and the rhythm so naturally..... it is soooooo beautifully fit into the harmony, that it gives me chills..... (as it should)..... how female and male harmonize in life, family and love....... **** GIANT SIGH ***** that writer got into my heart....... seconds flat....

I didn't even realize what I clicked on, I saw a cool looking thumbnail and was like, "Cool a new drama to get into". Saw Xiao Zhan in the title and thought, "Oh, I didn't know he was doing a new drama". Then I saw it was 'The Wolf', and I nearly had a heart attack, I wasn't expecting this. This has been on my list of most anticipated dramas for the longest time.

I just can't get over this beautiful drama. I'm coming back to it again and again. I just love it even if it's sad. I love the gentle heart and the love of wolfie for xinger and how they try to protect each other and what they are willing to sacrifice for each other.

I remember when I first saw the trailer for this. I believe it was in 2017. I couldn't wait for the release. Well, a few years later I'm not disappointed! I'm on Episode 31 now(I subscribe to Rakuten Viki) Darren wang and Xiao Zhan are soooo easy on the eyes! The cast is phenomenal! If you are a fan of Asian Drama.....This is a must see!

I am crazily in love with this theme song "Who am I?" - Some critics say The Wolf is an ancient drama and so it shouldn't use a rap. Yes it is a rap - but it is awesomely perfect. I never skip it. I love all 3 leads - Wang Dalu, Li Qing and Xiao Zhan. Some say Wang (the Wolf) is not handsome/good looking and that he is too tanned. But guys, he is the wolf - not prince charming. Can tarzan not be tanned? I think the producer did a good job choosing Wang - he is tall, has a great body and looks fierce and dangerous like a wolf ....and with a funny smile. This drama came in right on time as Canada is getting out of control to fight Covid. (A comfort during a lockdown)

Yes, I'm so happy for it, they need to stop whitewashing asians, I know most of the dramas has a heavily impact because of the girls and boys and their endorsements, but everytime I see a Male Asian man portrayed with a porcelain doll face, no one is flawless and there's beauty in it. 我真的觉得很开心，看到这么多外国人评论。狼殿下刚刚开播，第一集我就被圈粉了，拍摄手法很大气很高级，演员演技都特别好。OST特别大气，国际化。我那时就觉得这剧应该会很受外国人欢迎，而且男主黑黑的，身材很赞，很符合外国人的审美，很多国人嘲笑的大嘴也正是外国人审美的性感，总之很多人对男主长相的吐槽很让人气愤，我就觉得男主这形象和气质特别适合这个角色，被狼养大的，本来就不该是小白脸。王大陆的大嘴正是增加了他的野性，换个嘴小的来，还真的演不出来狼的感觉。看到外国人能这么欣赏这部剧而国人使劲吐槽，我真的悲喜交加。

OMG, the male lead it's Wang Ta Lu (Darren Wang) one of my favourite Taiwanese actors😻he won't let you down with his superb acting skill. He is such an amazing and talented actor the first time I saw him was in ”Our Times” and the second time in ”Fall in Love at First Kiss” and he's such a perfect actor in both, besides I like the way he portrayed his character and the way he created an affection with his costar of these two movies👌 hopefully in the future he can get more opportunity to get the leading role in many C-dramas^^

agree! I came to watch for xiao Zhan and instead, fell madly in love with Bo Wang and Ma Zhai Xing's relationship and I'm rewatching the series again this made my heart ache and made me feel various emotions and the acting is fantastic. i can't describe how amazing the wolf is

I just finished the drama. Watched it bc so many ppl talking about it. All these actors and actresses are NEW to me!! I'm a fan of them all. Anywho, I just wanted to say, don't let the 49 episodes stop you from watching this amazing drama... not only are the cast and crew super... but the quality, the storyline, and the OSTs are all soooo great!! Hats off to Darren Wang!! Best wolf ever!!!!

'Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace ' is another Chinese drama that is perfectly and flawlessly delivered by every standard. From the script, directing, the acting, the costume, the culture. It is to die for. For 'The Wolf' perfection! Lord Bo is a brilliant actor. His escape of personality in interpreting script is second to none. I am blessed to be a generation of good Chinese screen plays. I love you Ruyi (Don't know her real name but I'll Google afterward) , I love you Lin Qin and I love you too Talu Wang (Lord Bo). Excellent!

I admit it.....love, love, love Ziao! In just the twelve months that Ive watched the Untamed, the Joy of Life, and now, the wolf....he is an amazing actor in diiferent roles. However, Im being introduced to several new actors. In this case, its Darren Wang. Quite a handsome young man and seems to be an excellent actor himself. Its nice to meet you!

This is a fantastic movie series. I have followed it from the start to end. I love the storyline behind it, the characters are played so very well by the actors and actresses. The character of wolfie will make anyone fall in love with him. He’s tender, compassionate, loving, but when he’s Lord Bo I’d hate to be his enemy. This is a really great series!

I love darren wang, he's so different from other actors. Although his skinned is dark in this series but he's naturally fair skinned. I watch a show of him where he say that he born fair skinned but he like dark skinned so he occasionally go tanning salon often.

Beautiful written story, and all characters are defined in their roles from the beginning to end. No character was out of their established roles even after they attained a higher status, unlike any of other dramas! To the writers, producers , actors/actresses and all that involved for bringing this series to us. So worth to watch and I will remember it for a very long time! I love it, cried many times and for the first time since watching Chinese drama, didn't want it to end!

Wow! what an adventure watching this drama! It has a cast of characters with spectacular performances.! Darren Wang, Li Qin, Xiao Zhan were perfect for their characters & they outdid themselves! It needs a rewatch! IMO, it was a fairy tale ending. The wolf & the princess went back to Wolf Hunt Mountain where they spent the rest of their lives & there was peace in the land.😍😍😍

Just finished watching this whole drama, it is really good. This drama talks about love, unconditional love, one-sided love, sacrifice love, love/hate relationship, forgiveness and entitlement. I hate the evil King, who have trust issues and he is just so heartless. He use anyone and everyone that he can, he doesn’t care about his own kids. But this drama does have some silly, funny, cute, laughing moments. But I can tell you this....this drama put me on a roller coaster ride, it’s been a while since I cried my eyes out (you better have a box of tissue paper with you🥺) I love how they were so devoted and the love that they shared with each other till the very end. All the cast members does an amazing job, leading actor and actress has great chemistry. I wish they had a better ending, I hated the ending with a passion. Overall I do highly recommend you watch this drama it is good... it’s a 9/10 for me.
