I absolutely love the relationship between Yinzhang and Pan’er. When Pan’er rejected her Marriage, Yinzhang didn’t get angry at first, or have a temper tantrum or disrespect Pan’er. She quietly listened and then communicated in a loving respectful, and mature manner her feelings. She expressed herself so eloquently and clearly but eventually got upset. It touched my heart the love, respect and trust between these two women❤️
40 episodes I finished in 3 days 😅 and it was worth it the sleepless 2 nights. Perfect drama. Been a while searching a good mature drama and this is perfection! Kudos to all the people behind this wonderful historical drama.
One of the best Chinese period dramas in recent years. Every scene is beautifully framed and shot, every detail meticulously refined, every actor's performance solid, every soundtrack sophisticatedly arranged. On top of all that, the twists and turns of the story are engrossing, the suspenses arresting, the actions exciting, the conflicts intense, and the romances swooning. Overall, the production value is super high, providing an aesthetically appealing and emotionally satisfying viewing experience. Splendid.
Love this drama and Liu Yifei! She’s an amazing actress! This drama is based on an ancient Chinese story/drama/play from Guan Hanqing that depicts the struggle of women (the script of “A Dream of Splendor “ is original), especially the life of women that worked in the music/performance industry at that time. This drama not only has beautiful love story but also the mutual help among women. It also contains a lot of beautiful Chinese cultural elements. 😍
@@hilol5888 it's based on a drama written by Guan Hanqing 关汉卿(13th century, Yuan Dynasty) called "Saving the Dusty-windy"赵盼儿风月救风尘。Guan was one of the most famous playwrights in Yuan Dynasty😅you should learn some literature before making comments, dude
i love how Gu Qianfan and Zhao Pan'er didn't "accidentally" hugged or kissed together when he saved her lmao. The fighting scene was actually way better than i expected!
To future watcher’s if you wanna know is it worth to watch then, u can go for this drama it is one the best drama so far. You won’t regret watching it.
I have watched many like princess silver, princess weiyoung and princess agent and many others but for so long now they have not given up something like this
Waiting for episode 7… this drama is sooo good so far. Main leads are impressive. Female lead she’s so beautiful, elegant and I love her voice so much! Loving the supporting actors too 🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@irinenicesongpohloveitsale7096 not because of her ex bf. They met in 2015, but liu yifei stopped making cdrama since 2006. She said she loved to act in a movie than in a series drama. Then she just did it😂
Watched the whole thing and never skipped any episode. One of the best great dramas i watched in 2024. I love the f & m leads but the whole cast was meticulously chosen. Well done to the director nd producer 👏 🙌 👍 this is a gem!
I'm really loving the teahouse by the river. It seems so warm & cute! Beautiful scenery and I just love the feel of this drama already! We also have a street smart female lead 💪On to the next episodes! ❤️❤️
This, and "Meet Yourself" ("Where the Wind Comes from") must be Yifei's most beautiful works so far. She looks absolutely gorgeous in traditional costume 汉服. I don't remember anyone looking more convincing than her in this measure.
Sorry for commenting this. Recently, South Koreans are appropriating Chinese culture through Kpop and Kdramas while labelling China as "cultural thief". they claim that Korea is the origin of East Asian culture. Also, just because China influenced Korea, it doesn't mean that the two cultures are the same. Because westerners are unable to differentiate between them, Koreans have always used this as an advantage to blur the differences between Chinese and Korean culture making it easier for them to take away Chinese traditions and labelling them as "Korean". This has gone to the point that Koreans are forbidding Chinese from wearing their own traditional clothes and celebrating their own culture. A lot of my friends who are promoting Chinese culture, are receiving hate and threating comments from Korean netizens. If you like Cdramas, please helps us!
I'm not Chinese. In terms of cinematography, there's no question: just look at Chinese historical and fantasy films and dramas produced over the years and compare it to what Koreans have done. As a Westerner, I have always identified these traditions with China. There are historical records and documents, of centuries-long encounters between Europeans and Chinese and Japanese. Chinese tradition and culture, on one hand, and Japanese, on the other, are well documented historically even among Europeans - in Portugal there are many objects, paintings and texts in museums that have to do with Japanese and Chinese cultures. But as the Koreans have a tremendous propagandistic machine, based on their entertainment industry, they manage to confuse and convince people, especially because many people cannot be critical and are quite gullible and unaware of History. Japanese and Chinese have to bet a lot on quality!
lol, i happened to "battle" with some of them, their theories and views of history are so distorted which really amazed me, for instance, one person did "teach" me because of the mongolian invasion after song dynasty, chinese hanfu were influened by the mongolian hanbok which was quite similiar with korean hanbok at that time (yes, he did say "mongolian hanbok") so hanfu clearly copied from hanbok. I mean seriously these ignorant ppl probably even forget the meaning of so called "hanbok" since they totally abandoned hanja. Not to mention their history which were all written in classic chinese. Japan also learnt a lot from china but they have developed a very distinctive and unique culture. Koreans have completely lost their identity but just a hybrid of chinese, japanese and american cultures as it also used to the colony or vassal states of china japan and still is under control of US lol. Btw, in a few hundreds years koreans are gonna critisize americans copying from kpop just like what they are doing now with china influenced cultures lol, they are really shameless.
I'm Pakistani, watching three of thier series China, Korea and Japan. I can tell what's the difference between their cultures just by watching. People only believe in Korea by just watching their. They are real fool. To those blind people "first search properly, watch them then you'll find diffrence in cultures" Just by hearing and blindly believing you can't.
this was the best drama I've seen in a really long time. the actors did AMAZING!!!! whether they had a main part or they were just side characters, they did so well. this drama was funny, romantic, emotional, and it was absolutely beautiful. I HIGHLY recommend everyone to watch this at least once in their life
Easily the best drama I have watched over the last two years. Absolutely outstanding. Very well produced from the beginning to the end. And with a theme different from the usual - fighting for fair treatment of women in business and the underprivileged class in a period setting. Chen Xiao is very handsome. He exudes that warm loving feeling towards his PanEr and yet very stern as the 'living Hades'.
Liu Yu Ning, Chen Xiao, and Crystal Liu all in one drama? I can already tell this is gonna be good. Also, I really appreciate the production team keeping the actors voices and raw sounds instead of dubbing over and playing bg music for dramatic effects. Cinematography is also really well done. I can't remember the last time I saw a drama with such attention to detail.
@@shanwnt1657 Thanks God!!!!!! Finally some regulation that really is a good thing, make sense. I hope that they will catch the original sound of the captions scenes. Watching dubbing dramas is hard because my eyes and ears keep figthing for dominance and I don´t know who I trust: eyes or ears?! 😆
I have finished watching this fantastic drama. Chun Xiao is one of my favorite actors and this is the first time I watched Liu Yifei. Chun Xiao is one of a great actor. He acts naturally no matter who is his leading lady. I have watched many of his dramas, and he always has great chemistry with his leading lady. I love especially Liu Yifei and Chun Xiao together. So enjoyable to watch these two stars.
Find myself coming back to this and rewatching. For those of you who are watching this for the first time, the series is well worth it. The storyline, the drama, and costumes are amazing
Ok guys, I just finished this drama and its one of the best, it just came on my feed and I took a chance even though I didn't see any feedback in the comments section from the first episode. Well it has a happy ending, lots of laughter and tears, and strong FL, enjoy my fellow drama lovers
OMG. I am bingeing this at 3AM. Why did I start this amazing drama at night!?!?!?! IT IS SOOOOO GOOOOD. I love the interactions between the leads. For some reason I get Story of Minglan vibes and atmosphere here. I like the storyline here and the chemistry of all the characters. The main leads need a whole review of themselves on their superior acting and subtle sweetness with one another. I usually do not like starting ongoing dramas, but glad I started this one.
@@tianwenma8598 No, Hua Mulan is the Sui Dynasty (the dynasties before the Tang Dynasty), this drama is the Song Dynasty (the dynasties after the Tang Dynasty.)

Writing this after a 2nd time watching. Mark my words; it is an all around superb production. Story of 3 brave women trying to bring down a caste system and misogyny. And an upright ML who'd support the "pariah"FL at all costs. Stick through the 40 episodes. You won't regret it. One of Cdramas best!
I have watched this about five times,. I enjoyed the relationship of the two leads and how smart they are. The story is well written and seems believable of the time. No crazy impossible things.l. Though I like the leads my favorite characters were her tough friend and her, at first enemy then business partner. She was smart and courageous while he was somewhat cowardly but grew up during the turn of events. He played his part so well and had me laughing at his crying and tantrums. He is a good actor and played this part extremely well. I comment here because I can't on rakuten which I watch on television. I will be definitely watching this again and each time I have that man has me cracking up
This TV Episode is just wonderful. I love all characters they are playing in the episode.😇😇😇😇 This is my third time. By the way , the songs and the lyrics and the melody are just fabulous😇😇😇😇
A dream of splendour... What can I say about it from the scenery to the soundtrack( like you can hear birds perfectly blended into the music) it scored superbly better that billon dollars Hollywood movies. They actors deserve every penny they got and more. The character were so complex and from the one episode ones to the main cast, fantastic. They are interesting from the villains like MLs dad to the greedy politicians to the FL gilted love and competition the good and bad. Bad and good it is a sliding scale for most characters but not all. The love stories are so delicate and precious, some that will come out of nowhere. I love the supporting female leads. Their strength and resilience is not always written as well as this on screen. How they had their dark moments, breakdowns and suicidal moments. But they were always quick on their feet and sharp. I really like the balance of when they learned to depend on someone they loved and when not to. It made me burst out laughing at the most unexpected moments. It is more like a 40 hour cinematic masterpiece than a typical drama I HIGHLY recommend.
