The EnGenius 'approved' setup is one end is WDS AP and the remote ends are WDS Station. The old setup was WDS Bridge to WDS Bridge but that has issues with DFS channel hopping killing the link

@@solwise Thanks for the reply. I'm used to Ubiquiti radios so I figured I'd try out that mode and it seems to be working. However, I'm puzzled at the Connection List result. The AP is showing it's own SSID n the list and not the STA. That seems counter intuitive. On the STA side it does show the SSID for the AP as expected.

You will need four Ethernet cables in total, with a set of two at each end. The first cable will be connected from the PoE port on the EnGenius unit to the PoE port on the PoE injector. The second cable will be connected from the LAN port on the PoE injector to the rest of the network. This will be repeated for the other unit. Dependent on the purpose of the far bridge (second unit) you may want to connect an access point or switch if wireless or wired connectivity is required respectively.

I finally got an answer on your question: It actually seems to be a type error. It should be just “WDS”. This will be corrected in next SW/FW releases…

When you pressed the reset button you may have reset it to use DHCP for the address assignment. You need to check your router to see what address has been given. Other than that I would suggest calling tech support - 01482 644938

Hi, the reset button does work however you need to hold it in for ten seconds. The unit must be fully powered up.

500m should be fine with line of sight. Might be worth a call to our sales line to discuss this further - 01482 672872

The 5-ac is a different chipset. My advice, if this is for a WDS bridge, would be to stick to the same product. Steve

Yes. The EnStationAC and EnStation5-AC will work together. Keep in mind that the EnStationAC is 11ac and the EnStation5-AC is 11ac Wave 2. Also keep in mind that the EnStationAC is 802.3at compliant and the EnStation5-AC is proprietary (24v).

Yes it should work BUT each unit must be able to see the other with nothing in the way. Also the speed will not be great: Perhaps only 10meg. By all means give us a call on 01482 672872 to discuss your requirements further.

In WDS Bridge mode the lights don't come on, they only come on in client bridge mode. If you look at the WDS link list it shows the signal strength there. Any further queries it might be worth contacting support@solwise.co.uk
