Gerald you're an amazing man!!! The content is great and I know Jackie has been helping edit etc. I'm a biker and I love hopped up Harleys.. I won't own anything that's not a Harley or a Indian because I'm loyal to anything made in America. I watch a channel called Tatro Machine on RU-vid. He's a engine guru mainly Harleys and he does all his video work. There's not much editing besides splicing videos together. My point is that people will watch 30 to 60 minute videos with ease if it's something that they learn from and you're a great teacher.. if I wasn't in northwest Illinois with a wife who refuses to move I'd be down there offering to sweep the floor just for some of your knowledge sharing.. I sure hope your legal battle with the powerful government works out.. it many states & definitely the federal government has went rogue and forgotten that they work for we the people.. if you attempted to get a great law passed in Illinois and you were business owner they'd have the epa,irs, etc knocking on your door until you were broke which is a sad part of injustice.

Thank you for the video! Alot of questions popped up, from the benefits of the torque sequence to hone cut coarse level and bore to piston tolerance between different applications / power levels and adders. Would definitely love to see a video from you about those subjects. Thanks!

I greatly appreciate your videos. I will never need to know how to do this or rvk or plateauing the bore scratches with the second stone if your using this ring instead of that and why diamond stones are the hot tool of the week but not preferred. You make a fine entertaining piece for rodders on your subjects! I'm a out to in guy now because it seems like your stretching the guts out of the inner studs.

I don't think there's any specific way to torque the heads that is better than the other, as long as it's done in reasonable steps. Chevy torques them all at the same time with a tool that comes down and hits them all at the same time!!

Hey Gerald is that a CV-616? I have 2 shops here at my house and started building LS engines after my dad passed away we used to build off road race cars. I am saving up to buy some machinery the machine shop I currently use is trying to guide me what to get . My issue is a do allot of aluminum blocks and they are pretty far out of taper sometimes up to 5 thousandths and I usually only take them 5 or 10 over on the aluminum blocks because of the sleeves being thin aswell as not being very centered in the bores. They usually have to take my block to a shop with computerized hone to even do allot of my stuff becuase my machinist says it next to impossible for him to get it right manually on a 616 with how little I take off . Ive also been looking at those boring bars but my machine shop has a wiona van norman machine that can be indicated to bore and also use a fly cutter head and deck quite nicely so that could save some money . What machines would be the most cost effective to someone who builds mild to performance basically LS only I also have been doing some Ecotec engines for midget sprints . Late model pretty much .
@BrandRacingEngines
@BrandRacingEngines Год назад
CV 616 will work If the feed and press on the stones are right. A hone and a Bridgeport mill you can deck block ,line bore block ,do lifter bore you just have to by the tools.I used to deck blocks on my mill same BHJ tooling that I us now

When honing the block , do you work from center out or from end to the other. If you work from center out what is the advantage.
@taylorsrus9543
@taylorsrus9543 Год назад
Most people start on an inside hole like he did. He most likely went from the second hole to the fourth hole, then the first and third. reason being heat.

If I may ask, what benefits of the outside in torque sequence have you seen? More race motor vs street driven stock-ish? Improvement in head gasket sealing? Any effect on a partial fill block? My curiosity is peaked. Thanks!
@BrandRacingEngines
@BrandRacingEngines Год назад
Torque one head on one side the normal standard sequence and see how many times you have to go over them to get them not to move. Do the other side outside in and see the difference. Thanks

With the deck plate torqued up it only changes the cylinder .001 to .002. I leave four to hone.
