I had the same problem, change thermostat and temperature sensor twice from advance and auto zone didn't work. Then i bought temperature sensor and thermostat from chevy dealer and install it. Solved the problem. Hope this information help some one, cause i was desperate to solve the problem when it was happening to me
I having the same problem with the my equinox 2007 I Just change the temperature sensor and tthermostat and I drive the truck for a few miles a the temperature guage Drop an show engine hot ac off I have to use original parts from gm?
I have 2008 GMC Savana 3500 4.8L I had someone replaced the engine for me and after starting the car and everything in place we didn't have heat from the heater vents and the radiator water is cold even after 1 hour running so we decided to replace the thermostat and now it's still the same still no heat and the water is not cycling inside the engine I checked the water pump and it's good I checked the heater core it's good also .what possible is the cause?
temperature sensor thermostat reset error code with a scaner or disconect the battery before changing temperature sensor and thermostat that will do it
My car is doing this same thing. I have changed the temp sensor twice and changed the thermostat and still the temp gauge does not work. I did not use Chevy dealer parts. Would this make a difference??? Anyone ???
I've replaced that T stat. Lasted me 1 year. 4 months ago I did the flush. Installed a new rad cap a new y stat new coolant Worked only for 4 months. I drive my van 20 minutes then over heath. I have to stop wait 2 minutes. Then start the van. Temperature goes back to normal. Not sure what the issue in. Is it possible a bad T stat??? My van worked fine for 3 years. No over heating. Any ideas?? Ghx
@@go-diy some how the coolant got low. So I just added more and put the cap back on it. Turns out I caught an air pocket that caused it to overhead. So i had to burped the system for 20 minutes and lucky for me it worked I was thinking about the worst case scenario. Blown head gasket. My van has 224k miles. It's maintained well.
Did your engine actually overheat? Mine popped on dash same as yours but temp was just low. Stays around 170 then all of a sudden it loses it’s ready on temp gauge and engine hot ac off comes on. I replaced temp sensor but not t stat. Doing it this weekend and hope it’s fixed.
I had that same problem engine hot turn ax off and then all of a sudden it started shaking and said power reduced and I had to shut my truck off for about half an hour and drove it home. Can it still be the T-stat or something else?
Really? My with van just started this issue today. After a speedy oil charge. I saw them remove my radiator cap. And it seems cross threaded hard to remove/install. Engine doesn't seem hot😊
I bought a truck express 2021 i have ac problems blow 58° max ac..the dealer chevrolet only plug the computer and reading gauges and he say everything is good can't find the no problem in my truck...😡😡😡🤔 is only 17000 miles... ..I hate lazy dealers!...i don't know what to do...🤔
Change sensor from chevy dealer and then erase code. If still doesn't work then you have a problem with the wire conection. Check the wire sometimes it damage cause it so close t the muffler
I replaced the thermostat and the sensor 8 months ago and the same thing happened to me again and I replaced the thermostat again, I still get the same code and the temperature needle does not move
