In this video we dig a little bit deeper in to our Ford MK7 transit run away and try to figure out what went wrong. I think after this video you will agree that more than one problem caused this catastrophic failure. Lets investigate!
Your video was very informative, when you pulled the impella apart this was interesting as well, I have a similar issue but as the durotorq Di engine is all mechanical the turbo relies on vacuum flow from the control module to open and allow the airflow to happen. but well done very good, no play in rotors at all is a good sign too.
A bit late in the day to comment but the central housing which you took apart is usually available as a "CHRA" unit which you can buy separately rather than investing in a whole new turbo. Other things to replace as a priority are: the oil feed and return pipes and the coolant lines.
After break down after break down on my high mileage Mk7 campervan I bought a mk6 and swaped over the engine gear box gear lever full loom and abs and ecu. Now using less fuel and would drive it round the world . O and the full dash which looks better, nicer colour and style. but you will need the full donner van and lots of time.
Yep. Typical euro 4 engine. One of our vans is exactly the same. Oil all over dipstick. Ours isn’t over full of oil or anything.. but it’s near impossible to check oil level. Seems to pick oil up everywhere from when you push dipstick back in.
excellent information and well presented ,always wondered the mystery of the turbo, always hear of going faulty and engines becoming write offs. Did you buy a brand new one or risk a salvage part and if you don't mind what is the cost
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed that content about the turbo 😊. I ended up going for a brand new one from tpuk it was at the time £160 delivered and I have a link in the description to the seller if your ever need one. 😁👍
Yeah got the problem sorted, this van needed everything cleaned out, egr, intercooler, inlet manifold, replacement of turbo, 4 injectors and 4 glow plugs. This van was a diesel runaway so potentially more at fault than the issue you are having? thank for the comment. :)
@@abilityshare9294 Pff, you did a lot of work 😮 I will try with mine to simply change the oil, and if is running fine, I wil try to sell it again. 🙄 I have only 3 errors on the engine, from PTO, egr and diesel fuel regulator présure.
