Hello. I have a 2000 Speedfight 2, with 15k miles on it. Noticed roughly 0,5mm upndown play on the crank at variator side. Is this too much play? Time for a rebuild?
I have a doubt... Peugeot 100cc Scooter crankshaft is the same as the 50cc one? because I can't find the specifications anywhere, and I don't know whether to rectify The tip that I spent where does it go? pulley of the variator or replace it with a new one. greetings
I Have rebuilt my speedfight 50cc lc engine it turns over but will not run I did a compression test and it read 70 on the pressure dial / which is too low i have spent £600 on new part;s and buying the right tools to do the engine .piston etc . what do I have to do to fix this please
i have 100 videos on how to do all you need, follow them but wow £600 that a lot for a new piston and very few tools are needed . go to my channel and play my speedfight play list , ive changed loads of them and its not a hard job even being water cooled
with over 450 videos on here and 150 on mopeds, i've split over 50 engines this way and all have worked when fitting back together. I do this way to show people it can be done diy and saving you £100s on garage bills and try and give people top tips like the claw hammer way etc you have to buy some tools like the stator coil yet it can be done the old way but found this does damage the case so tell people not to do it there's a tool for most job just if I can show people another way I do but that doesn't mean they have to as I say in my other 10 top tip video have the tools for the job bud
its always worked for my and wanted to show you can do it with simple tools and some sealant and gasket after, ive split over 50 engines and never had any problems. no not one!!!!! so yes bud laugh but it works and ive work on over 450 speedfights so guessing I must know a little as I can build one from the frame to a fully working moped time and time again thanks for watching and your comment
On the Ac if the gaskets spilt well then you can get away with it but I ways use it , on the LC always or new gasket set really bud , thanks for watching please like and glad they help there are 40 off Speedfight videos
mine is an ac but im going to play it safe and apply it anyway. im completely restoring the bottom end so everything will be changed, barings, oil seals, gaskit and piston rings. ive noticed on one of your videos, you commented on if the exhaust bracket is snapped off the engine needs replacing but with mine only one part of the bracket has snapped which is the top bolt for the exhaust. the bottom bolt is fine and looks sturdy. do you think i will get away with that on mot?
+Dean Roberts yes I will pass as long as it does not move and holds the weight on the exhaust , some mot stations are funny and will fail on any thing they can find but I've had a few with one one and they have passed it , mark

hello again mark. i have finally rebuilt the bike bottom and top end and the engine seems to be fine but im still facing the original problem i had with it to begin with. im having to turn air fuel mixture screw all the way in for the bike to start but when riding i have to turn it 2 turns out for the bike to run properly. ive changed the choke tree times now and they cant all be faulty. ive also messed about with different sized jets to no avail. checke fuel flow and petcock valve and everything seems to be fine. im bangin my head against a brick wall with it and hopefully you'll be able to shine some light on the situation? many thanks, dean.
ok yeah that's cool. and it defo has immobiliser on there also so I'll be watching your video of how to change cdi lol. I also think there's bit missing.from electrics from watching.your videos. but I'm not.sure. but I'll have look them bit. and I'll order the cdi. and wait for my new barrel
Hi mark I was wondering what Part of the crank the oil seals are supposed sit on the variation side, I pressume it’s the widest part closest to the center but just wanted to make sure.Thanks
Good day I got a peugeot metal x 100cc and got it free as a project. Piston and bore are no good. All picked up massive scores. Now problem is they is not many parts engine wise for the model. Big question for me is the streetfighter 100cc same barrel and piston.
Hi mark The exhaust mount has broken on my speed fight 100. Its snapped clean off I don't fancy replacing the engine is there a way I can fix it by mounting it somewhere else on the bike but not making it look like a mess
oh no that's not good bud , so you have broke off both lugs? the whole back bit? is so you cant weld it back on, if you can try and re-bolt it to hang on any where else do so but it needs to be secure or it wont pass the MOT other than that its a new engine side I'm sorry to say bud , ive got lots of videos on how to do it and its a job you can do with only a few tools
@@marksavage yeah unfortunately the one remaining doesnt keep it supported, only having one point that's fixed gives to much flex on the exhaust and keeps snapping. I'll try to create a bracket of some sort Thanks mark
Any tips about the nut onto a new crank on the variator and magneto side. Can’t seem the put the nut on, it just wants to cross thread. Any help would be appreciated, thanks
that's not good and ive had to change the crank before !!, to be honest if yoy have fixed the problem and knowing you might have to change the crank anyway id ram it on tight you may have to hold the other nut on the variator to get it on , its not good but unless you can retap the tread its the only way bud
glad I read this. Wonder if the thread is being damaged whilst fitting crank. Going to put the nuts on new crank and keep them on as long as possible during and after rebuild. just got a 70 kit and today realised it does not have the cylinder liner bottom cutout so it can slide fully down :-( also one failed bearing in the case of gearbox currently being cut and welded to remove solid already broken 2 pullers..... scooter is fighting me.. its got the right name!!
hi mark i have a peugeot jetforce 125 2003 i carnt work the cam timming out i put engine at top dead centre i turn cam until it locks with drill bit i tighten the bolt on the cam but when i turn it over by hand the inlet valve hits the piston ?
Hi Mark just tighted my head bolts down and noticed one of the nuts is just turning on on the stud but it won't come back off any advice how to get it back off thanks
So the bolt is ok you haven't snapped it its just the nut turning round? its not good but it hasn't snapped this is common where the treed has rounded from the head bolt and will need coming out so to get the head down tight but first the nut, ok first see it you can get all the other nuts off so you just have the one on there then see rather than the nut see if you can get the head bolt out maybe with mull grips if you can get a grip of the top, otherwise try getting a screw drive top under the nut while trying to take it off
Hi mark buddy just got a speedfight with no front end so I got one from ebay I am about to install it do you know how much to tighten the first nut on top when replacing I guess it's finger tight on top of the bearing or does it need to be very tight
That's a bit of a thing you just get right after doing a few but ok, get it all on luke in one of my videos on here grease everything then put on the first nut and tighten till you can still turn the head with ease but not knock when you lift the front end then the other two together tap tight take off stand see it doesn't knock but still turns freely on the stand if you understand mate , sure I have explained this on here somewhere lol hope that helps

Hi Mark - great channel and really helpful videos. A question for you (and I have watched all your videos) I am trying to split the crankcase. I have it stripped down but can’t find a way to get the separation started. Your video shows getting a screwdriver in the gap, but how do you open up the gap? My crankcase seems locked together and I don’t want to start hammering on bits of casting. Thanks
hi bud ok you have watched them all good as I do show once you have taken out all the bolts behind the stator coil and variator is off and stand and clamp with bolts is off so it just the engine with no head you have to just find a place with a screw drive and bang it in to start , so tap and tap in another place and keep going round it will start to open I had a video where I do it on the bike with just the engine half move over as I was doing it like once a week lol sure its in a few of the 70 videos bud, see how you get on bud mark

I take it I'll new to.change belt and roller. but my question is. if I get the ignition to turn and no spark in way you said. comperission is very good. hi bud if it's a immob cdi then you will need a bypass unit as they are linked to the key if you have the one of the other two cdi unit's then you will be ok, and yes mate have a look under the casing as if your doing it up it's only a quick job to check all is ok and not much to fix . you can message me on here bud and don't want to give my e mail address out to the world lol
Hi Mark Your clips have been a big help whilst i've been servicing my sons scooter. but i could do with your expertise. The two pipes connected to the front of the engine. does it matter which way round they go back. One seems to go to a filter and the other dosen't seem to go anywhere. Being a bum arse i've forgotten which way round they go back. And i think they have something to do with the oil pump so i don't want to get it wrong. Cheers
+John Griffin .no not really lol it used to be on the older bikes where the oil pump used to go but on later bikes they have a electric oil pump so on one side used to go to the standard exhaust over flow gases and the other to a air filter system so don't worry, and thanks for the feed back it's nice to know it helps :)
Hi mark I am having issues splitting the engine with screwdrivers, when I wiggle the screwdrivers it creates a small gap but when I go and do it on the other side the gap disappears. No matter how much I try the Gap doesn’t get any bigger
123456abc hi bud Like in my videos make sure you have every bolt out and the stand off and stator so nothing is left attached Then use two big screw drivers and tap on in then the other on the other side and go back and tap and so on it will come apart bud just make sure it’s all free Try not to damage any casing I have may videos to help you bud over 60 Mark Please like share and sub
thanks m8 I searched ya vids but couldn't find it buddy also I have a rubber washer for in between the 3 nut am I right in saying that goes on top of that black metal washer that keeps the nuts from turning
No mate , bearing with the two nuts and the locking washer then the rudder and then the last washer to lock in , and they are there mate there's 30 odd but put them on then forget we're there are and sometimes I start off on one thing and go on to another lol but it's a man in his shed !

2 rubber hosses that are connected to a round black cap under where the muffler hooks up it came off with the side of the crank caee when u pulled it off and 2 hosses run off of it under the bike to the front
Thomas Brumfield hi bud there are the gas recirclelation valve as in one of my video chat must watch it bud one goes on the Peugeot exhaust to a valve and the off into the under side of the bike it was an environment thing , don't worry about it everyone takes it off and folds over the pipe on the exhaust or changes it to a sports one bud , mark
+Jordan Jones oh bugger lol, ok if you cant get a socket on it to take it off it the old way force so you need to get to it first I know which it hard - see if you can either drill it out once off then you could get whats left out , maybe hack saw a line then a big screw driver, heat it up then see if you can get a socket on it , a bit over the top but take engine off then up can get to it but I've had to do it before see my video off taking an engine off, or cut the lug around the starter so you can get it off then the bolt ? that's it really mate
Hi Mark, my zip needs the crank bearing replacing, I believe some of the ball bearing have gone into the engine because at the top the piston there’s like ball bearing imprinted. I’m gunna replace bearing/seals, gaskets and piston. Any tips on how to crack the case as I can’t get a screwdriver down the middle. I’ve tried heat gun but it’s on there good. Thanks Mark
I have a few videos of me doing it with a speedfight And that's the way it do it tap in front and tap in the back with the screw driver and keep doing around till it splits open Dont go in to heavy lol I've had the bearings do that before but really did damage to the top and sum too Have a look through my old speedfight videos for help bud
+ricky hicks sorry mate it's e bay for me as well, just keep looking bud or look for speedfight breaking they list them so you can contact them for parts
once all the bolt are out and either if you take it off or the way I half do it there is a bit of a nack, you need a good screw driver and like in my video's just tap either side of the top till it starts to come apart!. just don't go heavy handed and crake it, once it start it's easy. hope that help and thanks for watching please like my videos that help. mark
what is those 2 rubber hoses that are connected that u said u can pull right off??my speedfight has them and i ro not know that thwy are its my first speedfight build???thank u.its connected to the crank case in the back and 2 rubber hoses run of of it and go under the bike i think u said something like it was the air cooled motor??
iv never seen it running mark i bought it and have orderd over $600in parts for it and when i took the piston off and looked down in there its full of oil.all the guy told me was when he tryed starting it the yellow light came on..but the piston was trashed

hi mark, can you do a complete engine rebuild top to bottom with the engine out the bike it would mean a lot as everything needs doing on mine clutch, gearbox and brakes the lot

hi mark, i am rebuilding a speedfight two but need to find a replacement part but havnt a clue what its called, it is square and attached to the engine , it has 2 plastic nipples on it that is supposed to have pipes on , presumably for the oil , the nipples have snapped off by accident and i need a replacement as its letting air out , i have googled allsorts and have had no joy , fingers crossed you know lol
Damien Walker I have a few videos on the DNA's they are great bikes and I have one for Spares which I'm selling the whole bike but back to you lol the part is not a lot of money and best replace both as only cost £20 but it's all labour at the price of the garage and prob 2 to 4 hours work maybe about £50 an hour ? Damien Walker the link doesn't connect but the seals will get worse and keep leaking then I guess the bike will stop running bud ? , the crank or oil seals keep the lower compression and it will stop sucking the fuel into the head and it won't run ! If it's still running then it won't lol ? That's it bud '

hi bud ok lets go over the exhaust, you have two bolts on the head and two the hold it to the rear engine case, 1st yes you are right they can be hard to take off, use lots of WD40 or the same sort of thing but WD40 is the best, on the head it's two 10mm just warm the engine up a little in very cold weather this will help they should come off easy, on the rear of the engine case spray at the front and behind? it's a bit hard to get to but it's a must also if you can get a bit of heat on then too , this should help it they have been on since new!, they can be 13 or 14mm some times others sizes, hope that help. thanks for watching please like and share bud . mark
there are 3 bolt and something looks like a pin, problely something the previous owner have put in it. i would not suprise me, he jumped on the exhaust to get it of and cracked the crank case so have to weld it :(

I’ve got the bearings in but the oil seals won’t go in so was wondering if I could use some grease or something to help get them in And as I don’t have any pictures of the oil seals before was wondering how far to push them in

was it running ? if the last person keep on trying to start it, it will put petrol and oil into the sum so take it out like in my videos that show how to . best as said sit back and watch my other 50 videos bud they will help . mark
mark savage iv never seen it run i bought it for project and all the guy told me was the yellow light comes on and doesnt start.so i striped the bike completely down and orderd all new parts and can not understand how there would be so much oil in there
