amazing sound of Bombardier Dash-8-Q400 Engine start up and takeoff at Innsbruck airport, Austrian Airlines aircraft, High quality audio, filmed with sony a7s and external high quality mic.
Excellent video. Finally a prop video with a slow shutter speed, so the props appear as a blur like they do to the eye, none of this high speed strobe/static appearance.
Absolutely! Nothing worse than to see a Connie or any prop aircraft with stationary or bending props while taking off or in flight. So annoying. Props to this photographer!
Loved it! Just for a moment, it took me back to my days as a USAF C-130 crew member. Part of my duties were to be a "scanner" so I was outside the aircraft talking to the A/C while monitoring engine start. Loved that sound!!!
Two things in this world get me excited. The scent of french perfume, and the scent of jet-fuel! Couple the latter with the growl of twin turboprops and I have reached Nirvana! Great video! Thank you☺️
I lived in Innsbruck Austria for many years and this was the only commercial aircraft rated to land and take off there. I always loved watching first time passengers coming into Innsbruck sideways! Beautiful aircraft and great pilots working for Austrian Air!
My most favorite among the current-production turboprops, aside from the Airbus A400M. These Q400's totally ROCK, and I wish I had the money to buy one of them as my own private airplane.
I agree, most people never capture that rich low hum from turbo props because the shots are far away. You always get the airy, jet noise as the wind carries the sound. But even during takeoff, it feels like I'm there due to your sound quality.
Same plane that airport worker took off on, with no prior experience real flying, and he fucking did a barrel role and recovered like a stunt pilot less than 20 feet from the water!!!!!!??????. This maneuver has never been done by even experienced pilots with this type of plane, and it will not be forgotten!
Its predessor DHC-7 was developed by a Canadian company Havilland which was bought by Boeing and later it went to Bombardier ownership. This still had 4 turboprops. Since newer DHC-8 equipped with PW150 engines with 5000HP, two of them take the longer and heavier body which is noise insulated now. The range is just 2000km :(
