i have an old ford 460 engine that i wanted to test before installing it in my car, but it seems like i also need to take the transmission out of the car and put it on the engine in order to install the starter. so, my question is: is there a bell housing from a different transmission that would fit a ford 460? or is there a way to turn on the engine without having to install the original transmission? sorry for the inconvenience.
Ur talking about a fly wheel. almost every car has it but u need it to start the engine. U don’t need the transmission to start the engine on a engine stand bet the bell housing. Or u can fabricate one just for ur engine start. And I know over a year ago
Still not complete. I've had too many other projects to get it completed. I hope to work on it more this year as I want to get the boat finished that the stand was built to test those engines.
