The resource management and placing objects around the map is similar, but other than that I don't see much other similarities. Engineer needs to (from what I can tell) hit enemies or use a Dispenser to get metal, you can only place one of each building, and each building has a unique function from support, offense, and movement. Steve can regain his resources whenever he wants as long as he's on the ground, he can place platforms and walls using his resources for many simple but useful uses, and the aren't much different between the blocks he places, sure the crafting table allows his normals to be stronger, but it's not even connected to his resources since he can place it down whenever.
Yeah kinda, the key difference being that he can’t build walls to force coin toss death scenarios if you decide you don’t want to sit there for the next 15 minutes and watch him mone
It’s really fitting that amongst the cast of TF2 characters already modded into rivals, you used Jerma as scout. Beautiful mod btw, the sprite work is amazing
One of the most complete characters in the rivalsofaether workshop. He has - A advanced moveset that requires skill. - An moveset based on his Game if you press taunt. (Like Shovel Knight) - Too much references to other sfm animations in tf2 history - Has a voice changer that makes the match more funny. - He has one of the things that not all mods have, the Final Smash. That showed how much the creators were committed to the character. And 1 year of develoment was totally worth it. The only think that I think is missing is a costume stage, it would be cool if the song for this stage could be overtime showdown.
I caught the Erectin' a River motif at the end there. Excellent work. I didn't anticipate the Engineer mod ever getting an update. A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one!
Having tried the mod, I think this is the best TF2 Moveset for a platform fighter ever made. Most custom characters or Smash Bros mods don't dare to use a bit of innovation to make TF2 characters work in this kind of game, but your mod perfectly balances innovation with accuracy to make both an awesome Rivals character and and authentic Engineer Gaming experience. It has indeed been worth the wait.
okay this is great the artstyle is so good and not only there's a lot of references in the move set and the taunt for the engineer like engi mech from Spy's Disguise, the nope meme for the perry, the you're ugly from Eltorro64Rus and of course the buff engi definitely getting this mod, huge props for you guys for making this, keep up the great work
At 2:28 is probably base on that sfm short movie where spy have sentry in him, namely spy disguised ,and at near end the engineer have that look-a-like mech just like that, thank me later for useless info
The tf2 community is the most dedicated community I’ve ever seen, I will be playing this mod at the glorious 5 fps my game can handle and I will love it
