Most just don’t understand what a profoundly musical genius Steve Morse is!! In the 80’s when he was on the “Dregs of the Earth” tour (he was playing his Franken tele back then) and I caught up to him after the show and told him he was the Bach of rock. He turned and smiled with humble gratitude. Thanks for all of the tunes and inspiration Steve!!
I remember a NAM show when Gilbert, Petrucci, Lukather and others where talking to Andersons TV and everybody smiled in respect and admiration when Steve came by. Always a joy to see Steve.
Steve is a highly respected musician and everything he does or says is important to know. To me, his new ENGL sounds AMAZING and it seems to contain all the experience and suggestions of this great man. Chapeau!
Good to see back the legend ❤, we know Steve took sometimes off from Scene to be with his wife. We know things happen in life but , she will live forever through Steve music and looking forward to hear you more. Love and respect
Steve Morse.. It is Jonathan Mark.. I had you play at the Lyric theater in Stuart about 25 years ago and T Lavitz opened for you.. After the show we went across the street at the Ashley to have a small party.. Do you remember? It was a pleasure meeting you.. Hope all is well my brother! Be well..
Love Steve! This amp is so feature rich and sounds fantastic! It just about checks every box for my use case. The ONLY thing for me that's missing is the ability to change delay settings per preset. A+ ENGL!
Good on you ENGL for designing a Steve Morse signature amp. Steve is a master guitarist and just an,all-around wonderful & respectable guy. I am a huge fan & I will be buying one of these amps soon because of Steve's endorsement. Thank you ENGL & Steve. 👍🏻
Great idea Steve! Im not on your level but I love what you do. I don't play on the big stage but this way I can sit in my practice room at home and dream about it. If I ever get somewhere I'll get the 100 watt also lol. Hows that?! Love you man! I would never have been a Deep Purple fan if it wasn't for you!
I played an ENGL head in Japan back in 1999 or so. It had the same magical touch as the super high end Bogner and VHT heads I auditoned at the same time (The ENGL tone was thicker, gain was comparable to the others)
Excellent amp Steve, loving your big amp but so intrigued to try this one. Has pretty much everything you could need. Apart from a tuner, very cool amp, great vid. Cheers 🥂
oh the grandmeister himself! amazing. would have loved a tap tempo on the front panel. exp input to simply fade fxloop and delays in and out without big dry wet stereo hassle. 2 pots more and it would be the 1st amp in the world with more pots in the rear then in the front. maybe include a custom engl cheesplate?
I saw him with Deep Purple and G3 back in the day, and he pretty much lived on the first two channels. In fact, I never caught him switching to the third channel, not even for solos. So, while the four mid controls really seem like a great idea, I guess he was quite happy with the core tone of the big amp in the first place.
I wish we had it in the 80’s. It sucked. There was no info, only unmodded Marshall in the store and it was so loud, it was ripping off your head. I had to push my first amp, a backstage plus, with a SD1. I thought I discovered something cause the only reason I got it it’s because a seller asked me what I was after, I answered Jimi Page sound cause he caught me off guard. I was way more into Hendrix, hence the use of my OD in a Peavey pushed into a ton of saturation. I didn’t know shit and the dude I spoke to at mtl Steve’s music was an arrogant, impatient and condescending prick. + the books we use to buy were full of mistakes, showing the worst way to play songs. No internet, completely left to yourself. Hat off to John Suhr for starting with a RadioShack basic electronic book and doing ones of the best mods in the world on amps, pedals and guitars that he brought to an out of our atmosphere level. Huge fan of him.
Morse was probably bored as hell playing in Deep Purple. The scope of his musical ability and knowledge far exceeds Blackmore’s. His compositional skills and playing in the Dregs were amazing.
@@brianmccarthy8595 For someone "bored as hell" he sure stayed too bloody long and bored DP fans to hell. He may be more technically gifted than Blackmore, but all that technical corksniffery is secondary. When it comes to melody and tone, no one beats Blackmore, he's in his own league. Maybe Gilmour is somewhere in the same conversation, but that's about it. Also, for the iconic hard bloody rock DP played, Blackmore is king. Maybe Morse can play better country licks and chicken pickin' and fusion styles, but for a bloody hard rock riff, Ritchie is the guy. Even Zakk praised him and Zakk launched those hard rocking riffs into stratosphere.
@@gunnersdream44 There is no denying that Blackmore wrote memorable riffs but hands down Morse is a better musician. I've seen Blackmore numerous times and I've seen Morse with the Dregs ,The Steve Morse band and Kansas .Ritchie is a fine player but Morse is next level. Morse is a true musical genius. Blackmore is not.
