There is so much beauty on this planet Earth isn't there? being English I treasure the gorgeous countryside and villages that we have all over Britain. Walking is free and if you're fortunate to be able to walk, get out there, it's more therapeutic than any medicine. Thank you for this lovely dip into the Cotswolds, an area I've walked in many times in past years with my husband. Unfortunately he cannot walk far now but I still go walking on my own sometimes or with a friend. The world is a troubled place, but at least we can appreciate nature's beauty around us.
I wish the true British people all the best...The world our grandparent left us we allowed to be screwed up......I remember going to the Henley regatta back in the 80's it was magnificent. All the best from across the pond.
That's the kind of enchanting village you can imagine populated by elves and fairies. Very beautiful, and it’s probably even more beautiful at Christmas.
But it’s these beautiful places with all the amazing English gardens ( so very different from American gardens) and the cobbled stone streets and the places that have an atmosphere of having been there for 100s or a thousand years that call to me! I feel I could loose myself in England forever❤🇺🇸
I live in Germany, this being said, we have as well many beautiful places...but not quite what the British countryside can offer. I fell in love with everything that is British. Teatime, countryside, cottages, traditions. Thank you so much for this wonderful video!
Well, to avoid nowadays high costs of heating in Germany this and the next winter, you can get to such a UK countryside and get a job as a janitor (snow-cleaner) to admire this beauty daily... Next time you would not vote for the social democrats and the greens who killed all the Germany's nuclear electricity plants🤭
Heidihuiss 1173. As much as I love old house, I live in a 2003 house. I prefer old houses, we moved from an old house, but more modern ones are better insulated. It's like a classic car, I love old cars, but a modern one for modern times is reliable, safer, warmer. I agree with you, old houses are beautiful.
I can 100%agree its one of the most beautiful places around.I was there in Winter of 2017 and fell in love with its tranquil beauty.I really could live there, U.K. is just full of these gorgeous villates.Makes me proud to be a Scot and able to easily visit and enjoy.🏴🏴👍❤
These village views fill my heart with love, happiness, warmth and tranquility. It looks amazing in white winter. Thank you for sharing. Greetings from Ukraine.
This is exactly why I feel drawn to visit England. The unique buildings, houses and villages are so attractive. Yes even in the rain or snow. The country lanes, castles and the ruins just add to the magic. Thank you for this fairly tale glimpse into England's winter wonderland. 💖🙏🇳🇿🙋♀️🇳🇱
@@moirapettifr7127 thanks for the comment. I’m totally aware of that fact. I live in a country that too is praised into the heavens by tourists who barely scratch the surface of our country and think is Paradise. So I see see what I see and enjoy each moment. Many French(who)men won’t see France like we did last spring. We thoroughly enjoyed our experiences. The videos have been well received. I guess it’s what holidays are all about. Have a wonderful day 💖🇳🇿🙋♀️🇳🇱
@@IamaDutch-Kiwi I think the earlier comment was a "glass half full" comment! It is natural when visiting any country to visit the most attractive areas, like those shown in this beautiful video. I live in London (a short distance from Greenwich) and, on a good day, I feel so grateful for the parks, the concert halls, museums, galleries, good public transport etc. On a bad day, I complain about the traffic jams and weather, like everyone! Happy travelling wherever you go!
Although my ancestors jumped the pond in 1625, I have such affection and affinity for my Welsh-English heritage. If I could, I'd visit and take my time. This is such a lovely place. So calming at the end of a long day. The music was just right. Well done. Thanks from North Carolina. 😊
My classmate lives in North Carolina. For 30 years. We are from Russia. She reserches the problems of cancer there. She and her husband. I teach English here, in Russia. Like to watch video about English speaking countries.
@@skvorets-g1x I think I may know where your friend works. I have a lovely friend near Moscow who teaches English to Chinese children. He's a dear soul. Thanks for saying hello. Hope you're well and content. 🙂
I've worked in construction for years and always loved getting to see ways old structures where built. Unfortunately I'm American and we don't have anything here as old as some of the building in Europ that's always made me want to travel there
Thank you Bear and Bean for your film, showing us the beauty of Castle Combe in winter, decked in snow. The music chosen was cinemascopic, swirling and melancholic. The melancholy is poignant. I lived in Castle Combe from 1959 until 1979 - the Malt House and the Weavers House. The story of this village is the story and parable of the fate of many places that come to the attention of prying and inquisitive experience seekers - tourists. Castle Combe was voted the "Prettiest Village in England" - there many other prettier villages and their inhabitants breathed a sigh of relief that they were not the ones chosen. Then came "Doctor Dolittle" ...and people came to see the dammed up River Bybrook, replete with fishing vessels and fresh fish from Billingsgate covering fake rubber fish. I was a ten year old boy living on film set for a year (1966) with live llamas, parrots and circus tent and Hollywood stars, it was a dream. The year that England won the World Cup, too ! My family had the only colour TV set and all the extras replete in their costumes, the film crew too, watched the final sitting on the lawn in our garden.. then Ranulph Fiennes (yes, it was he) tried, and failed, to blow up the dam holding the water that had turned Castle Combe (which is 60 miles from nearest coastline) into a fishing village. He was protesting that a place of natural beauty was being destroyed by an American film company. We got cable TV from 20th Century Fox which was unique for a village..oh! no. no TV aerials were to spoil the uniqueness of our ancient village ! I will leave my stories here lest you get bored. Just to say remember that all this useless beauty has a price. Communities die if the people who hold it's fabric together..the baker (Mr Hammond) the Grocer (Miss Eels) the dairy (also Eels) Mr Hamilton (village school teacher) Miss Smith in the Post Office ...puf, all gone ! Like so many places. No one knows the residents of High Street row of cottages...they don't see to live there, except at weekends. The village is a shell, it's become a film set..."Slow Horses" is the latest. Enjoy it's beauty, when no one there, as you tried. Leave your car. All of you !! Walk. Walk down the river valley. No one is supposed to park on the hill. (The car also killed the village when the M4 was built) And think of the people that once made Castle Combe a living, working community...now long gone..you can but carry on in a fantasy (film?) world. It IS beautiful though. Except the golf course which is ....don't let me going.
What a treat this was today! I'm on the other side of the world, roastingly hot today, and yet here I am, via your wonderful upload, having a gorgeous trip through the lovely English countryside: enchantingly pretty covered in a white blanket of snow! Thank you!
This brought back beautiful memories of when I worked at the Manor House Hotel. I never got tired of the drive through, even at 5.30 in the morning. It’s just a magical beautiful village! Thank you for sharing your video. 😘
One area I missed visiting while living in England for 10 years. Oh how I wish I had traveled to this beautiful village. My kind of place. I can see myself living there. Thank you for sharing your video. It's wonderful. 🤗 💕
This was like a beautiful dream with magical music... best wishes as you create more beautiful videos ... just wonderful! A subscriber from California ❤️
I am from Russia. There are so many gorgeous places in my country. But l love travelling, making friends with people all over the world. All countries have something peculiar, interesting, beautiful, especially people of any country. The more we know each other, the less is the wish to fight.
Each county in England is different and unique as is much of Britain with its four seasons. Have seen a bit of the world but still consider Britain to be one of the most beautiful
Absolutely Stunning ! The easy pace of driving helped the viewer to saviour the scenery with ease. Much Appreciated. Too many foreigners stating they are British when in reality this video depicts the real English/British heritage and culture. No mosques, turbans, hijabs or anything else relating to other Nationalities...just pure organic English Heritage. 🙏
I can picture living here, loving this gorgeous architecture, enjoying an afternoon stroll to a coffee or tea house to savor the simple things in life. This village exemplifies what that means to me. Thanks so much for posting it.
Breathtaking! I love the snow dusted trees. I would love to see inside some of those beautiful buildings. I prefer these type of architectural surroundings over cold, hard modern cities any day! With appreciation from New York, USA.
I live in the cotswolds, near this area. The small cottages are so pretty, but were meant for farm workers. They are, of course, expensive now, but they are usually quite dark and small inside. The video shows cars parked in the road, because the cottages have no parking space. Yes they have character and pretty countryside around, but as a disabled person I prefer living in a warm and light modern house (not that I could afford to buy one of those cottages).
@@emilydavison2053 That’s because there wasn’t any cars when these majestic cottages were built, and l’m pretty sure they weren’t thinking about who might be living in these places hundreds of years from now and how they must Consider disabled people to appear “inclusive” beyond the grave lol. Do you not think that all these things would’ve been considered before buying a place like this.
@@lolalouise9503 do you think I didn't know those things? The cottages certainly aren't 'majestic '. I know very well from experience that people in the past didn't think of inclusion. I don't expect that.
@@emilydavison2053 Majestic can be very subjective, something l might find to be Beutiful/magical might mean something completely different to someone else? Anyhow it wasn’t really the point.
I remember Castle Combe very well I used to race cars there back in the 1970s it was a wonderful racing circuit , there is a lovely very old pub that did great food.
Thanks so much for watching, it’s amazing that you used to race cars here - there are plenty of lovely old pubs still here, but we bet the food is more expensive these days!
I'm now completely in love with Castle Combe England everytime I see pics of Castle Combe I feel like I'm looking at a beautiful woman I live in Stowe, Vermont right now but I want to live in Castle Combe or anywhere in the English countryside or in London if I show pictures of Castle Combe village he would want to live there too I'm getting my dad interested he is talking about living there hopefully I mean it's like a fairytale village from the middle ages paradise on earth.
This is so so beautiful, loved listening and watching a beautiful winter wonderland! Thanks for sharing, hoping to get a chance to visit Castle Combe this year, looks amazing
I was fortunate enough to see this lovely place on 16 th December. Thanks to my daughter and her friend. It was the most beautiful thing I ever saw in my life. Thank you so much for this wonderful video.
I have a feeling that I was there, in this wonderful fairy tale place, when I watched your video. Thank you so much! I follow you and look forward to new videos.
Oh that’s so lovely to hear! Thanks so much for watching and subscribing 🥰 We look forward to sharing more videos like this (hopefully less wobbly too! 😂)
@@beanandbearuk My pleasure! There is probably nothing more beautiful, calm and peaceful in the world than the English countryside. Greetings from Ukraine!
This is most lovely! I’m across the pond & am in the heart of a big city, but about a mile away is a lovely park & forest reserve created by those who came from Britain & banded together to be sure it would be enjoyed forever & it’s lovely, though I’ve not yet seen it when it snows. This is a real treat & I greatly thank you for sharing your ride through this beauty with us all! 🙏🏼💙❄️ Shared with friends who moved to a warmer state, who might miss the beauty of the snow.
We ( us English / British ) often go over there to seek the new, whilst you often come over here visiting the old. I think it will remain the same for a couple of thousand years or so. I have been to North America / the `States and am so glad I went. I saw things there I have never seen here. But there are things here I can see which I could never see in North America.
@@dogwithwigwamz.7320 that is so true! My ancestors are from across the pond & I would love to visit Britain & see its beauty! All the very best to you.
@@cynthiaennis3107 You must come along, then - and enjoy England. At least for a while. You`ll struggle to drive ten miles without going through one ancient hamlet or village or other. Since I was a child I always wanted to visit the United States and made it one of my first priorities before purchasing a house. I know it`s not easy. But England is not so far away as one might think. Travel far - and enjoy your sojourns.
C'est toujours un enchantement de visiter un village sous la neige, surtout quand les maisons sont ravissantes... Très belle vidéo, merci pour cette balade 😃☃️sheers from France 🧡
It’s was one of the most beautiful days out I’ve been on, it was sunny but not that busy we had such a lovely walk around and a stunning meal in one of the old pubs there! Absolutely recommend to anyone who has the chance to go there do it.. It’s been used as a few different films ie.. Stardust, The Wolfman, Parts of War Horse among others, also just down the road is Castle Combe Racetrack where you can just sit back and watch the racing cars or experience driving one first hand.. The whole of the Cotswolds is with worth visiting great for a few days away 😊
