I already could tell that the goalkeeper was too far off his line when I was 12 sitting in front of the television, I told myself if it was me I would attempt a direct lob at goal and true enough, Ronaldinho went for the lob and scored.

I was 14 at the time, other side of the fence I'm English. The School gathered in the hall to watch the game. Went insane when Michael Owen scored, but of course by the end we were devastated. Could hear the teachers in the background saying "typical England, chocked as usual"

It was gut wrenching watching this as a kid. No one in the world could believe England were ahead with Owen's goal. Looking back that Brazil team was sensational, England did very well against them.

People who said Ronaldinho didn’t mean it are clueless. In an interview Kleberson mentions this goal, Ronaldinho told his teammates , ‘Look the goalie will come off his line’. Watched the game at 7 am. By the time I went to school. First lesson was English and my English teacher was almost in tears. He cancelled the lesson and we just hung out that morning. Que recuerdos de este partido, que golazo metió Ronaldinho para remontar el partido que se le complicó al empezar perdiendo pero no se rindieron y ahí se vio el mejor Ronaldinho que se iba a convertir para ponérsela a Rivaldo y empatar, y su gran golazo de falta desde fuera del área abrió el gran camino a semifinales y luego ser campeones del mundo.

It's gonna be tough match, but my bet would go for Brazil. Their individual talent is too much, if the team is having a bad day, you can count on the likes of Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo to change the game by themselves without the need of other players to help them. The only defensive line that can stop those front 3 would probably be the back 4 of Italy 1994 team.

England fan, but have to admit that Brazil was the better team. Unfortunately England met them in the quarterfinals. Had they been on the other end of the bracket I believe they would have easily made the final. England was clearly the second best team this tournament and was the only one to really put up a fight against this amazing Brazil squad
