I couldnt believe the line up was identical to the first game, then the first sub was identical too. Southgate is absolutely clueless. I've heard so many people say bin Trent off, move Bellingham there, move Foden to the middle, bring Eze or Gordon in on the left. Is it really that hard???
He has a relationship with players and he is scared to upset players Ie leave them out Never win anything as a manager without being brave . It's the number 1 attribute needed ,for me
@@arthurballs9632 Did we get a trophy for making it to the final? Must've missed that one. Simple fact is we've had very easy runs in world cups and the previous Euros, and every time we've faced a top 6 team we've lost. Southgate is a loser.
@@arthurballs9632What do you expect..?😂 That's all people can do, comment by complaining & giving their opinions of what should be done to maximise the available talents. Southgate has to deal with getting the best out of this squad at the end of it all
You can be boring if you have a system in place. England are boring without a system, tactics, heart, energy, confidence. Just absolutely nothing. The recent game was probably the worst game of football I’ve ever seen a team play.
The players are overpaid and not good enough. Blame the premier league and the academy system in particular. Millionaires before they even get called into the first team at their clubs. Nowadays the managers and coaches shine the player’s boots, not the other way round. The managers in the Prem are the player’s handmaids to put it in PG terms.
Well that's the thing ain't it, it wasn't. Playing bad, not even getting out of first gear and we are still top of the group, pretty much guaranteed to go through and most likely will top the group.
Southgate, has been in charge for eight years and he's still Clueless and useless ,and Kane is Finnished ! as a centre forward ! ,Foden, is a better pressing midfielder..
Southgate won't get a championship. Be lucky to get league 2. If they were attacking and putting up a decent showing he prob would walk into a prem job not top 20 though.
Petit the only one not bothered about upsetting the ‘old boys club’ by stating the truth. This is all on Southgate, he’s responsible for turning world class players into an absolute mess. Finally he’s been found out. Reputation built on beating Colombia etc. unbelievable that he has been paid multi-millions for this
Honest to god it's like England management have been told 'any injuries to the players and we'll disappear you...' they just aint even trying to break free from first gear. And they're still top of the group, pretty much guaranteed to go through and most likely win the group. That's the most hilarious thing about all this; we're still in a great position.
It's been that way since they expanded to 24 teams in 2016, you're a bit late. Also from 1982 to 1994 the WC was 24 teams with 16 going through so for 12 years the world cup was pathetic then?
@@phillydavison How? There will always be a round of 16, so teams have to be trimmed to 16 after the group. You could increase the tournament to 32 teams then only the top 2 of each group go through but then qualifying would be a joke because there are 46 countries in Europe so over two thirds would qualify.
Its been obvious to most england fans for years that southgate is absolutely clueless and been blessed with amazing draws. The only team weve ever really beaten at tournaments was a pretty poor germany side that was going through a transition
The mass media in this country were metaphorically sticking their fingers in their ears saying “lalalalalalalala……”, while listening to Petit state the uncomfortable truth about the Nu-Prem and English team/manager🙉
@@SeamusTivnan4678 And we all hate you are your uneducated comment. Go on then, educate all us plebs on the credentials of you and your white collar friends that apparently are better than everyone else and are the backbone of the fan base.
England are boring. It's not about what personnel they play. It's the mindset. You never see a player, just go right.....i'm gonna beat this guy and then i'm gonna offload the ball the ball quickly to a team mate, and then make a run in behind. They expect to win a game of football by playing at a snail's pace standing on both feet flat.
I'm wondering if England are actually employing a rope-a-dope strategy. Get through the group stages without exerting too much energy and without showing your hand to the other bigger, more dangerous opponents. Then when it matters most, let loose with everything you've got. They've now watched and analysed Germany and Spain and are devising plans to counter their style of play.
Training session Southgate got all the backroom staff on the field for England players to slow pass around . The backroom staff won 3 0 the tea lady scored twice
Foden has to play number 10 and pull the strings and Rice where he plays for Arsenal as the marauding midfielder. Bellingham as 6. Rest will fall into place.
Does he treat the senior players like he did the youth, because he doesn't let any of them men express themselves on the pitch, they seem scared to play, never a grin on their faces happy at it competitive play, guess that alone speaks volumes of the state of their play, let the chains off, you win nothing playing scared and safe, get after it
I don't think we are too "boring" as such. I think it's the usual conundrum that we can't retain the ball in the final third, or press effectively to win it back in the final third. That's because Foden has Bernardo, de Bruyne and Rodri providing him with the passes to do that. Similarly, Trent A-A can look amazing when he's got Szoboslai, Endo, Salah and Jota moving around and running ahead of him waiting for those passes. In this team, people don't press, they don't move effectively, and they don't run off the ball. So what do we expect?
Petit and viera were like twin towers in center arsenal midfield back then Petit was a fool to have left when he did, but the grass is not always greener on other side, and petit found out leaving arsenal back then, you end up throwing away your career Anelka, was better then henry, and went to real madrid, and was wasted, he was a disaster for real madrid Only one arsenal player back then played better for another team, and that was andy cole, no other player played better for other teams back then than for arsenal I gave up watching arsenal in 2002, and petit was class He never really loved the place, but he gave all for the team when he was there. Its understandable he moved on, as you cannot fake loving something But he went to barcelona if i remember, and was never the same Petit like anelka was foolish to have that arsenal team, but they did, and people make decisions and its there life. If you do not truly love the team your playing for, you can always leave, and petit and anelka left arsenal back then when they should not off, as they never played at that level again. Like viera, viera only was known because he played for that arsenal team. Viera loved arsenal, in a way petit did not, and there is nothing wrong with that. No one can say what they love or why, and no player can just love a club, without it being part of them, and petit always used arsenal as a stepping stone, but like i said, petit never played as well for anyone else then he did for arsenal in those years He was an arsenal great, who simply did not love arsenal Viera loved arsenal Thats life, no one can say which player can love a club, and so many players play for teams, and move on, and regret it Anelka was better then henry, and wasted his career leaving arsenal, but he also did not love arsenal, but he played his best football for arsenal in those years, and you can be sure looking back anelka would say today his best football was playing at arsenal in those years. Although i stopped watching arsenal in 2002, i respect petit, even though he did not love arsenal, he gave his best football for the team while he was there I think he was foolish to have left, but thats his life and his choice, he never played so well again, like anelka, and overmars What a team we could of had, if such players had stayed, but like i said, in years i watched arsenal when young, only 1 player played worse for arsenal, then they did for others All other players who left arsenal in those years played worse elsewhere, and petit was one He became world champion while he was playing for the arsenal Arsenal fans i am sure are grateful he played for arsenal for that short period, and i respect that he made his decision to leave, but like 95% of all arsenal players who left arsenal in those years, he never played at such a high level again Cheers, to petit for the memories, and you and viera were such a great midfield duo, even though petit you never really loved arsenal Viera did What a team arsenal could of had, if they had kept these players at those times But like i said, players have to love the team they play for, and if they do not, there is nothing wrong with them moving on, but virtually all arsenal players who left arsenal in those years, never played at same level again
I’ve never seen Emanuel Petit get so much airtime EVER. And it’s all because he’s trashing England. The English Media is the most NEGATIVE on the PLANET.
This is nothing new. There's a reason England hasn't won a WC since the 60s yet they are looked upon as the gold standard. They play the possession game all day long without going on the offensive. Then when they go up against high powered attacking teams like Brazil, Argentina, France and Germany they lose
Graham you said it right , Jordon has no idea about football. He is very articulate but so conceited. To run the scottish football down is a disgrace. Scotland is a small country but many great players , like you Graham, are super players who all came from Scotland. I know Jordon played football but was a rubbish player. I just want to say I cannot stand the man. But that is only my opinion.
The changes needed he wont make thats the soul destroying thing, we've options in formation and personal...change nothing and they'll be home pretty soon
Simon talking about scotland arent a good team, are england even a good team? 2 of their games have been the 2 most boring games of the whole tournament, with the players they have they are embarrassing to watch
Apples and oranges. England are much better than Scotland but England are ranked no 4 in the world, Scotland aren't. England are massively under performing, Scotland are what we expect.
Let's talk about the elephant in the room here. When was the last time you saw an English manager go head to head with the best and win a title? Southgate is a symptom of the larger culture within English managers. The park the bus and launch it football from the 1900s don't work anymore. Southgate wouldn't know tactics if it hit him in the face. TAA, PF & HK should refuse to play for this clown. He can make Messi look mediocre. Eddie Howe and Graham Potter are the exceptions to the rule. God forbid the English FA should appoint someone like them.
The woke FA doesn’t care if we win as long as we take the knee before games... they’ve already said regardless of results they want Southgate for 2026...
The French don't live and breathe Football like we do in Britain tho,In fact it's actually meaningless for Emmanuel Petit and Henry there forgotten its not like Britain when it comes to football...
Should not complain about Southgate you knew before the competition started what you would get from England. Maybe the players are not as good as what the propaganda in the media say about them . Two matches Kane, Fodden Bellingham have not got a kick. England best out field player is Pickford. Low energy, unimaginative, boring fotball. Two games took them 6o minutes to get a corner. Second game 75 minutes before they got a corner. Any team who go at England will bet them . England can not change from their slow passing game
