If the Swiss coach assumes we're going in unchanged, he's a muppet. He publicly said that they beat Italy because the Italians had 4 at the back. Plus we weren't great against Slovakia and were seconds from being knocked out, so changes would be expected after that.

Why and what is the mentality of revealing what formation England are going to be playing at this juncture it doesn’t make any sense to reveal it to all a sundry.
They have open training sessions so it’s not a secret they’ve been preparing this formation. I’m sure Switzerland will have scouts watching it. Likewise England have all this information on their opponents too
How about playing Trent at right back and stop being a coward . Southgate talks about being brave and is so defensive its ridiculous considering the talent in forward areas . Trent can do from right back what Southgate wanted him to do from midfield! Makes no sense when you can play a midfielder in midfield and still have Trent doing his thing putting pin point 30 yd passes on strikers heads ,feet and its not rocket science for Rice or whoever to cover when Trent goes forward. Have some balls and play him in his position instead of experimenting in a tournament ffs and then throwing the lad under the bus when it doesn't work . I think if we are looking to progress then Switzerland will need to feel that we have deserved to. It is no good seeing your team mates panic on the pitch. Be ready for the match. Be prepared to move and make angles for your team mate to open up space for a pass. Don’t wait for somebody else to move. Get up and get back. Don’t crowd the attacking six yard box. Be patient the chance will arrive when there is space for the ball to fall into. But you should work off the ball to find space whether you move or take up a good position and be patient out wide or in the attacking zones.

I forecast that Southgate will change almost nothing - except that he may bring back Conor Gallagher into midfield. If you didn't know better you might suspect that he is actually there to sabotage England in this tournament, the way he has turned a bunch of confident and highly talented footballers into a herd of timid sheep.
So John said before that they have to work hard to improve the way they play and he says they have worked hard to improve things and yet things only got worse, Fear is what leads the manager and so what leads the team, too afraid to try anything, to press, to move into space, to play the tough ball, even Southgate said they were not trying to force it, but maybe when teams put ten players back to create holes in their defence you have to force it.
So: Walker, Stones, Konsa, Trent, Bellingham, Rice, Saka, Foden, Kane, Palmer? Or does he start Gallagher and play Bellingham in the forward position instead of Palmer? can't see that winning easily.
Seems like that will be most likely, plus it mirrors Switzerland's setup which is how we beat Germany in the last Euros. Personally I'd like to see us try two strikers, since we were pretty lethal when Toney came on against Slovakia.

Based upon England's performances, it doesn't look like they practice their passing style, positioning, press or movement off the ball. To me, it looks like pure instinct and fear reactions, not intelligent and practiced responses to external stimuli. They have five gears, but never get into second gear. In fact, there's not enough passion, energy and urgency. If anything, they're too calm and relaxed. Southgate has one plan and one team -- he's adverse to changing the system or changing the players, this behaviour is based upon fear.
