This week I'm on a slow travel extravaganza, staying in a series of Pride of Britain hotels and exploring the surrounding locations. My first day begins with a visit to one of my favourite gardens in England, Iford Manor. You will have seen me share this location before (link below). I head off and check in to Whatley Manor and in the morning I visit Castle Combe, one of the most picturesque villages in all of England.

I stayed in Castle Combe last spring with my daughter. So breathtaking! The wild garlic was everywhere. Both pubs are delicious & tea at the Manor House sublime. The Little Picnic Shop is also a must! Thanks for taking me back!❤

Sp beautiful, relaxing and caanno beleive how lovely the wisteria is all around and so many other lovely roses and oher flowers. The room you stayed in was so perfect and am sure you were vety comfortable. Thank you for the video and allowing us to share some of this vacation with you.

WOW! Courtesy of beautiful England and your editing skills ... an absolutely stunning start to my spring eastern Washington State Sunday morning. I have seen the finest gardens of Japan many times .... and English perennial gardens and manors are every bit as delightful! [in a unique contrasting way]. I almost wished I could sit at that Chess Board and enjoy a good game ... or take respite at any one of the numerous garden benches along the way . . . . .

@theslowtravelsfamily We found an amazing AirBnB in Cirencester, so that will be our base. We have a list of places we hope to visit: Stow-On-Wold, St. Edward's Church, Bibury, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Bath, Stonehenge, Bourton on the Water, Tetbury, Lower Slaughter, Blenheim Palace, Painswick and Cheltenham. I want to add the manor with gardens that was at the beginning of your video as well!

Hi Stacy! I am a subscriber and eagerly look forward to your videos. Thank you for this virtual tour of the countryside of England. And some occasional glimpses of France and the United States too. I read most of the comments here and of course they are all praise for your vudeos.And rightly so. However , i have something to say and i hope it will be taken in the right spirit and you will not feel criticized. Before i say anything more .. here's a disclaimer. I am a teacher by profession! I noticed that you use some adjectives frequently ....eg beautiful, stunning, and in this video you used incredible many times in the first few.minutes.of the video. (Now you understand the disclaimer 😅) English is such an amazing language and you have a choice of synonyms 😊 The other point i wanted to make was about the BGM. Although very soothing and appropriate most times...it would be nice to hear just the sounds of nature... like the chirping of the birds, the comforting sounds of flowing gurgling water or even the church bells or the breeze wherever possible These are my thoughts and if you feel it worthwhile....😊

This was May 2nd (yes, it’s taken me that long to edit with all the trips we’ve had over the last month 😅). From experience, the first two weeks of May are when the wisteria is usually in bloom at this particular garden.

We are planning a trip trip to England next June and will probably be in the Cotswolds around this time next year but probably a little bit earlier so I’m wondering if the wisteria will probably still be in bloom Around June 8-12
