It's maniacal to see the English goings bonkers over quarter final victory. It is as if they have won the Cup. Thats the best part of English football. Their fans. Fans like no other country. Support till the end no matter what. Reminds me how the soldiers felt disgraced when they returned home from Dunkirk yet their countrymen celebrated them...True patriots.

Summer 2018 will never be forgotten one if the hottest summers and seeing the nation together celebrating it didn't matter if you supported arsenal or spurs you came together to watch out country

Unless you are English you will NEVER understand, I still get goose bumps, my family set up a system outside in the garden and all my sons invited their friends my daughter invited hers we had the barbie going, other people we had invited were there, others we didn't know also started turning up, They had intended to watch at the local boozer, but couldn't get in because it was packed they all had the England shirt on, it was a loud crowd, yet very friendly so we let them stay. when the match started, we stopped the revelry and with full bellies and beers in hand we all sat and watched, when it went to extra time the gate crashers left but before leaving thanked me and my family for making them welcome, and they said quite honestly they can not stomach another penalty shoot out, we all knew it would end up been exactly that. You could have heard a pin drop when that shootout started, when the third penalties were taken, the crowd who left wandered back in, carrying with them a huge keg of beer and a case of wine, and said if we are going out lets go out in style. The language was choice the voices loud, and I loved it. This is who we are. this is what makes England great, people like those gate crashers, and we are still friends to this day and they often come round now. When Pickford saved that penalty the shouting started, when Eric Dier stepped up, my heart was racing out of my chest, everyone was praying, and then BAM in it went, all around us other people who had been watching it the same way we had, absolutely screamed like mad, the scenes I watched in my garden I will take to my grave, grown men and women crying because we didn't lose, for us English as far as we were concerned at that moment we had won the world cup. I love my country, I love our people. I know my own heart to be entirely English.

The whole of US is cheering for England. It's time!!! Football must come home!

Catharsis. Raw emotion like I had forgotten. Beautiful video, brought a tear to my eye. I had the 'pleasure' of being in Gelsenkirchen in 2006 for Ronaldo's wink and penalty exit. It was always a lifelong ambition of mine to see us play in the World Cup...and it turned into a nightmare. In the years following that it got worse and worse, with more penalty heartbreak to come and sadly I lost faith in my team, I fell out of love with England. The 2018 World Cup, and especially the penalty victory over Colombia made me fall in love with England again. I don't care that we did not win it, it gave me back something that had been gone for too long. Thanks England. Great video.

I am England fan here in Auckland , New Zealand. I would have loved to seen us go all the way .But to many get caught up in the hype and underestimated Croatia. Luka Modric and Croatia were cool, calm and collected. That French team in the final with Antoine Griezmann were phenomenal.

Im 13 now and remember that night i got so nervous i was nearly sick and ran outside coz i coudnt watch coz i was shaking incase we missed i know it sounds bad that i didnt watch but i was a lot younger and so nervous so i just wentoutside layed on the grass wondering what was happening praying to god we didnt miss that penalty because i thought maybe dier has taken it and missed thats why noone was cheering iutside,the best thing happened i thought that we lost then heard the massive cheer up at the pub i ran in smashed my head on the door coz i was so exited and found out we won it was the best felling i ever felt.

I have never seen a county so divided unite like it did in the 18 world cup... It was brief, but just for a moment we all came together, despite the politics and the division. We all supported our lads. The world cup did not come home, but football truly did. All those years of heartbreak, all those years of seeing shootout after shootout go against us... Finally the curse was lifted. Seeing Dyer's penalty go in... That may as well have been him lifting the cup.
